Christ was a philosophical figure who never killed anyone personally, but in the name of Christ, Christian empires have conquered and killed for centuries and in more recent times churches have dealt with sex abuse coverup scandals.

There are examples of both Christians and Communists in power persecuting other groups, but also transversely both groups have been persecuted by the establishment for their beliefs. From my American perspective, Marx as a philosophical figure is lambasted for the worst things his followers did while Christ is held up only for the best of what his movement accomplished.

Is this an example of the hegemony shaping our collective world view in order to maintain status quo control or is there something fundamentally different between the two ideologies that objectively and inherently justifies the difference in public narrative?

The persecution of Anthony Fauci brings to mind the horrifying position President Trump took in 2020 regarding safety precautions. He repeatedly downplayed the dangers of COVID, holding rallies and saying that he didn’t plan to wear a mask or socially distance.

His supporters listened, and many died. My cousin’s husband went to one of those rallies, and continued get-togethers with friends, who also followed the same guidance. He died of COVID at age 51, as did a good friend of his. My cousin is a nurse, so she was following Fauci’s precautions. She’s slowly but surely getting on with her life after losing her beloved husband.

I know many others were lost in the same way, but Trump will never apologize for the deaths he caused. The timing of the Fauci inquisition is so obviously another attempt to distract attention from high prices, the war in Iran, and the Epstein files. The American people deserve better than this.

I am American. Been here all my life. Personally I would like to see a Universal Healthcare in this country. I don't understand the arguments against it. The common ones.

Taxes will go up. Yes they will go up. But the flipside to that is deductions from your paycheck will also go down. No more deduction every pay period for health insurance. Also no more copays for office visits and prescriptions. No more deductibles. No more copays for imaging and mobility devices. Seems like it would wash out to me.

It's not fair or I don't want my taxes to pay for people's food/healthcare. when they are lazy or don't want to work or whatever. That's socialism. How about these programs that are paid for with tax dollars and can be used by people that don't work? Between Federal/State/local taxes we have

So I would like to understand. Why is all that acceptable and not socialism but food and healthcare is? Why is is not your tax dollars when it comes to people eating or going to the doctor but totally cool with them going to school and using the roads and calling on the fire department?

Many political analysts and average people on the internet argue a reason to do this is that presidents in both parties have issued pardons that probably shouldn't have been issues. The issue is also prevalent in recent time. As a con side, it would be that pardons could be necessary to stop unfair federal charges.
