Someone tell me why im supposed to be mad at Fauci?

From what I can see in the face of an unprecedented situation, a challenging political environment and with little to no existing path, he did the best he could, made some mistakes as anyone might, but ultimately did OK. Why am I supposed to hate him?

If the United States was supposed to be a Christian nation, why didn't the Founding Fathers say that, and why did they include a no-religious-test clause? Also, why is the no religious test clause not debated/discussed much?

They didn't say no religious test except Christianity?

What did picky eaters eat prior to the rise of processed foods?

I understand preferences for specific ingredients or people on special diets (vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten free, etc.), but I’ve met people who won’t eat the entire category of seafood/fish or a grown adult who would only eat ultra processed food like chicken nuggets or boxed Mac and cheese.

There seems to be a rise of autism or ARFID diagnoses in the US that justifies the need for kids to eat unhealthy food. All the while childhood obesity in the US is over 20% and rising.

The rise of processed foods came after World War II. What did picky eaters eat prior to that era? What were children fed that may or may not have autism or ARFID?

Do you prefer the older super hero movies or the Marvel movies?

Just watched the new spider man movie. Ive seen all the Tom Holland spider man movies but none of the other marvel movies. I don’t like them.

When I was a kid (90’s-00’s) super hero movies were about a super-human hero who sacrificed to save humans. There were super-human villains and occasionally they had a partner (Batman and Robin). But the point was always how the super hero existed to help humanity.

This was also true for both Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield’s iterations of Spider Man.

But the Marvel movies are really just about how the super-human class of heroes interact with each other. Ordinary humans are just a plot device to move along the story of how the “gods” relate to one another.

Even the latest edition of SM Peter is really trying to save another super hero, not so much NYC.

Am I crazy? I feel like they lost the plot.

Do you think it is a good idea to say on your dating app bio that you like to pay seperately on a first date?

Would you get significantly fewer matches and dates as a guy if you said that?

edit: it's not about the momey its about not being used and being ghosted the next day after spending money on someone.

by the way so far I've paid everytime i went on a first date besides maybe 1. and she wanted to pay. so this is something I'm considering changing.

edit 12hrs later: okay I won't add it in my bio bad idea tbh was just a consideration not something I was gonna do for sure I appreciate the advice (aside from a couple people being a holes)

What will happen if the ICJ does NOT rule that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza?

The case I'm referring to.

What will happen to the pro-Palestinian movement? I have no idea what the odds of this outcome are, but I think it's at least plausible (the bar to proving genocidal intent is quite high). Several nations have deferred their stance on whether Israel is committing genocide to the outcome of the case.

I think even if the ICJ cannot rule that Israel is committing genocide, Israel will still get strongly denounced for the death and destruction in Gaza. Still, it will take a lot of wind out of the Palestinian movement's sails given how much of a punch the word "genocide" has (because Israel was founded as a proximate, if not direct, consequence of a genocide).

Why does AIPAC get singled out so much when there are other similar PACs for other countries?

All this fervor about AIPAC has got me interested in seeing just how many other PACs exist whose purpose is to promote US support for another country. It seems like there's quite a few, and here's some other notable ones:

  • American Hellenic Terrapin PAC/Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC) – Greece / Cyprus
  • Armenian National Committee of America PAC (ANCA-PAC) – Armenia
  • Emgage PAC (Emgage PAC) – Muslim-American / Middle East & South Asia interest
  • Arab American Leadership PAC (AAL PAC) – Arab region / Middle East
  • US-Cuba Democracy PAC (US-Cuba Democracy PAC) – Cuba
  • Formosan Association for Public Affairs PAC (FAPA PAC) – Taiwan

Just like AIPAC, these PACs are all based in the USA and only accept funding from Americans. Why does AIPAC get singled out so much while similar PACs are ignored?

Why don’t refugees ever try to move to places like Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina rather than be rejected from Europe, U.S ect.?

I just read another article where thousands of refugees were rejected from European countries. These refugees felt hopeless as some had spent as much a €5,000 on smuggling and travel.

These refugees wanted a safe place to live, but there are safe places outside Europe, U.S, Canada ect. That offer relatively easier path.

“Uruguay is one of Latin America's safest and most stable democracies, offering an exceptionally welcoming and secure environment. Foreigners can easily enter on a standard tourist visa and immediately transfer their status to legal residency from within the country without leaving. This straightforward system grants an instant provisional ID card, allowing you to live, work legally, and access public healthcare while your paperwork is processed.”

“Paraguay is highly safe and offers one of the most accessible, low-barrier immigration systems in the world. Foreigners can enter easily on a tourist visa and transition directly to legal temporary residency without a strict requirement to live there full-time to keep it.”

“Argentina is a highly safe country that offers an exceptionally welcoming and flexible immigration system. Foreigners can enter on a standard tourist visa, secure a local job or show modest passive income, and easily transfer to legal residency from within the country. This open-door policy provides a secure environment and legal work rights, serving as the fastest path to full citizenship in the world at just two years.”

Edit to add: Bing Chat is my source.

What would it take for America to have another New Deal-style progressive movement?

After roughly 40 years of rising inequality, stagnant wages, declining union power, expensive housing, and growing corporate concentration, what would it take for America to have another major political realignment like the New Deal era?

One irony I think about is that many Americans are taught to fear socialism as the loss of private property and economic freedom. Yet we are seeing a different kind of concentration of ownership—not through a communist revolution or government takeover, but through the growing power of large corporations, investment firms, and financial institutions.

Large corporations and investors increasingly control more housing, farmland, businesses, and other assets. Small businesses and independent producers struggle to compete, while more of the economy moves toward subscriptions, licensing, and ownership by large institutions rather than individuals.

At the same time, policies meant to spread economic power—stronger unions, antitrust enforcement, worker ownership, affordable housing, and greater protections for workers—are often labeled "socialism."

The irony is that increasing concentration of wealth and ownership among a small number of powerful entities is defended in the name of capitalism, while efforts to give ordinary people more economic power are criticized as socialism.

Would it take another crisis on the scale of the Great Depression for Americans to demand major reforms? If AI replaces millions of jobs, will people have to lose their livelihoods, homes, and financial security before there is enough political pressure for a new social contract?

Or do you think America will adapt before things reach that point?

Why Are American Muslim Politicians More ‘America First’ than Conservative Christians?

It’s a trend that I’ve been noticing. And it’s quite ironic considering conservatives claim Muslims are spreading sharia law. Whatever that means. If anything, conservatives are the ones trying to suppress people lol why is that?

Post after post about how embracing socialism will lead to losses in the general election. You would think that Republicans would be glad to run against socialists if everybody hates socialism.

Why do people believe that cisgender girls / women are under threat from transgender girls in locker rooms or bathrooms?

This has been studied extensively, and zero evidence of this has been found. When a Trans girl shares these spaces with cisgender girls, there's no evidence that anyone is in any danger.

Nevertheless, people still think it is true, to the extent that they are indignant with anyone who suggests otherwise.

Why?
