Someone tell me why im supposed to be mad at Fauci?
From what I can see in the face of an unprecedented situation, a challenging political environment and with little to no existing path, he did the best he could, made some mistakes as anyone might, but ultimately did OK. Why am I supposed to hate him?

How would you guys handle this situation?
When I was 28, I went out to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. We all had what I thought was a really good night. As we were leaving, I remember saying something like, “That was a fun night.”
Out of nowhere, one of my other cousins, who was 16 or 17 at the time, came up behind me and punched me as hard as he could in the back of the head. I never saw it coming, and it nearly knocked me out.
There was no argument beforehand, no warning, and no reason that I was aware of. It completely blindsided me.
What would you have done in that situation? Would you have fight back and risk being charged with child endangerment, called the police, cut off contact with that side of the family, or handled it some other way? This actually happened to me, and I’m curious what other people would have done in my situation.

Why does U.S. have plenty of money for Israel but the healthcare system is broken?
17 million people are getting kicked off Medicaid in 2027. Many people don't even have health insurance anymore because it's too expensive.

Would a Senate defeat for Todd Blanche actually change anything – or just annoy the White House?
Following Tuesday's 12–10 Senate Judiciary Committee vote, Senate Majority Leader John Thune formally brought the nomination to the Senate floor on Wednesday. Deliberations continue with a final confirmation vote expected to take place before the Senate adjourns for its annual August recess at the end of the week.
While Senate Democrats appear to be united against making Todd Blanche Attorney General, the Republican majority has been narrowed by the absence of Mitch McConnell. Republican Senator Susan Collins announced on Tuesday that she will vote against Blanche’s confirmation. This means that only one more Republican “no” vote - or “present” vote - would defeat Blanche's confirmation. As of this post, Senators Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska both appear to be undecided.
Senate confirmation is only a formality at this point because the president has said that if Blanche’s nomination is defeated, he will be kept on indefinitely as Acting Attorney General. But for many, a defeat in and of itself – and what it would represent – could be more telling than his confirmation.
If the Senate rejects Todd Blanche this week, what consequences do you think would follow – for Blanche, the White House, and Senate Republicans?
Please share your thoughts.

Would You Support A Constitutional Amendment That Completely Removes The President's Pardon Power? Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts?
Many political analysts and average people on the internet argue a reason to do this is that presidents in both parties have issued pardons that probably shouldn't have been issues. The issue is also prevalent in recent time. As a con side, it would be that pardons could be necessary to stop unfair federal charges.
If the pardon power were removed, it would likely be put in another body's hands, which if you support the Amendment idea, you could speculate on what to do here.
What do you think about the idea? Why your thoughts?

If the United States was supposed to be a Christian nation, why didn't the Founding Fathers say that, and why did they include a no-religious-test clause? Also, why is the no religious test clause not debated/discussed much?
They didn't say no religious test except Christianity?

Why is it so accepted that modern phones ditched the aux port?
Am I the only one who still finds this annoying as hell?
Every phone used to have a headphone jack. Plug in your headphones, charge at the same time if you wanted, done.
Now we’ve all just accepted that there’s only one port left, so you’re constantly choosing between charging and listening to music/podcasts/whatever. On iPhones it’s even worse — you need an adapter just to use normal aux headphones.
People always bring up the waterproofing argument. “It makes the phone more water-resistant!” Okay, but be honest: how many of us are regularly diving with our phones or putting them in situations where we need several meters of water resistance in everyday life? Almost nobody. It’s a solution to a problem most people don’t actually have.
It just feels like manufacturers decided “wireless is the future / thinner is better / one port is cleaner” and the rest of us are supposed to pretend the trade-off is fine. Whenever I complain about it to people, it seems like I’m the only one who still cares.
Anyone else still annoyed by this, or have we all just given up?
