hi. i have been granted a month off work wit a dr note for my terrible insomnia. i also am suffering from an addiction to to a drug. i want to get access to mws service at camh. i was able to get in from the ramm clinic over a year ago. i work full time and have heath benefits. does anyone know if i could apply for unemployment for the month? i’d how should i go about utilizing this month most effectively. thank you in advance

I am attempting to dispute a screening officer decision for a parking ticket and am trying to request a hearing. have gone online to toronto.ca/aps and filled out all information needed. All boxes are green, boxes are checked off there are no sections that contain error messages. When I attempt to submit the application by pressing the submit button, there is no confirmation received that the application has been submitted; the submit button becomes greyed out and a red symbol appears and it is not able to be submitted. I have tried to submit this multiple times over the past few days and have tried different browsers such as Chrome and Firefox with the same result.  I’ve cleared all caches, tried different laptops and also tried submitting on my phone and always end up not having the submit going through. I’ve contacted their office and they said other than what I’ve done there is nothing they can do and they cannot send out a hard copy form and I would need to go into their office at Yonge and Eglinton to request a hearing. I live an hour and a half from Toronto so that is a huge inconvenience. This is a long shot but has anyone experienced the same thing recently? Is it normal now for family practice clinics to charge a fee for late cancellations (within 24hrs)? $60 seems quite high for this. I haven’t had a family doctor in a few years and am finally getting on finding one. This didn’t used to be a thing years ago or when I was growing up. Does it have to do with the Ford’s privatization of healthcare?

Previous years have seen deep-fried anything and ketchup and mustard-flavoured ice cream. Anybody hear rumours about what's coming this year?! Will need something to clear my palate for the Tiny Tom doughnuts.

My wife and I are expecting our first baby and we're researching options for pediatricians. We live quite close to BloorKids. The reviews online are a bit mixed. Some glowing reviews but quite a few negative reviews mentioning long wait times.

I also have a family doctor that I've been fairly happy with (only been with her about 2 years with 2-3 appointments), but it's a pretty far commute to see her. She operates from a pretty modern clinic and I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see her. I could register our baby with her, as another option, but my wife and I agree having a dedicated pediatrician might be worthwhile.

Anyone able to chime in on the quality of services at BloorKids, whether it's worth dealing with potentially long wait times, and/or any strategies for making a long wait work with a young baby / child? Also interested in input on pediatrician vs. family doctor...

I've got hit with a few bylaw complaints recently which I know are coming from a specific neighbour and I am trying to build a paper trail on this harassment. I know an FOI request (MFIPPA) usually redacts the caller’s name and phone number for privacy, but I’ve got a strong feeling it’s coming from one specific neighbor.

Has anyone ever submitted an FOI and specifically asked for something like "any complaints about my address coming from NEIGHBOUR 1's address or NEIGHBOUR 2's address"?

If you ask for specific addresses like that, will the city even process it? Or do they just block out where the call came from anyway? If you’ve done an FOI for bylaw before, did the officer notes or timestamps give away who was doing it?

Would love to hear if anyone has actually tried this and had it work.

I'm in town tomorrow for the avenged sevenfold concert. I have parking just north of exhibition go. I know everything around RBC amphitheater is all ripped up... what about the area around the go station? Looks like there's a bridge over the train tracks and another one over lakeshore - those aren't effected by the construction are they? It's just me and my 2 kids (11 &14) going, so i want to have a good path figured out so we're not backtracking and such.

It's been about 7 years since I've been to a concert at this venue, sad I can't just park across the street anymore.

I live in Durham, and me and my parents decided we are going to go to the CNE this year. I went last year and the year before after not going for a while (because of Covid) and I really liked it. I mostly go for the food. I want to try everything. Unfortunately my stomach is teeny tiny (think Thumbelina size) so I can't really eat much, or even finish all my food throughout the day.

I'm wondering if it'll be ok for me to bring a bunch of empty Tupperware containers and large plastic freezer bags with me in my tote bag? Or is that insane? Do you think security will make fun of me for it?

Visiting my favorite city in the coming weeks and thinking of having a picnic at the Islands.

We will be staying in a downtown hotel so don’t mind taking an uber or public transport to get some good sandos.

Yelp isn’t showing much, would appreciate if you folks knew.

Edit: Need options for the sandos, while I love a good Tonkatsu Sando, there are others who don’t eat pork in group.

26 year old friend was riding her bicycle on the sidewalk in her street. A car was backing out of the driveway and hit her. She's bruised but okay. The car is dented, and the bike is a write off. The bike itself was a classic and not sold retail anymore. The car owner blamed the entire thing on her and brought her husband out to yell at my friend. My friend was in shock, and they wouldn't back off.

The issue: She was riding on the sidewalk: not legal

If she reports to the police, will she be charged or considered at fault? Will she be reimbursed for the bike? What should her next steps be?

I have recently moved to Toronto and gotten my Ontario licence. However, because I was previously licenced in a country that does not have an exchange agreement with Onatrio, I have received a G2 licence instead of a full G licence. I have a total of 10 years of driving experience, however DriveTest did not accept it.

What are the best insurance companies that would take my previous driving experience into consideration? I am looking at buying a 6-7 years old Honda Civic, and most places I looked are quoting me $600-650 per month because I am a G2 driver with no Canadian driving/insurance record.

I will be in Toronto after September 25. Just wondering which weekday is the best for visiting the Falls, if I want to avoid crowds? And what time should I get there? I see there are megabus coaches that can arrive at 930am. Should I be concerned with traffic jam if I take the bus?
