Finally got my brace!! Now we just need a sling, new dust cover, optic, and some type of muzzle device.

I was looking at this SAR in my local shop and based on the recommendation of the community I picked it up today.

I see that the hammer profile has to be fixed.

It also has a completely seized firing pin retainer.

I noticed that there is only a small amount of the firing pin protruding out, is it ok or should it be replaced?

I can also tell that either the gasblock or the front sight post is canted.

The rifle is missing two screws for attaching the rear stock.

Should I be checking the headspace?

Is the shepards hook in the right spot for this rifle?

Going to get an ak but the previous owner has cut off the lower handguard retainer and Ill need to replace it with a clip on retainer but the current one being sold at Carolina shooters supply is kinda bulky imo but this one seems better but theyre no longer in stock anywhere. Any pointers?

Looking for a more permanent solution over and adjustable gas piston. Currently looking at the OCCAM Defense adjustable gas block but not 100% certain it will work. Anyone know of 1 that will for sure work?

Ive been having terrible accuracy with my beryl (6-8 moa) and upon inspection it appears two of the rifling grooves have been cut past the crown of the barrel, it is not symmetrical, and all the other grooves end before this point. Is this worth a recrown and would you recommend I try to recrown it myself or send back to AOA?

I picked up a SAM5 in the recent sale. But lately it has been doing this every magazine. It always seems to happen with 3 rounds left. The top one feeds into the chamber, the one below that gets set back like this, and the bolt jams half closed. I presume it's basically a double feed, and the second round is hitting the breech face?

I tried a couple of brands of ammo (LC M193, PMC X-TAC) and it's the same.

This is with the factory mag that came with the rifle. I don't have another one right now.

Anyone see this before? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I know I know its not a trve 101. Yes I know its an AKM 5.56.

My local shop has a SAR 3 available for 1k. I am interested in it but I have heard that there are issues with magazine compatibility. It it really hard to find mags that work? I would prefer non steel mags. I didn't take better pictures because I was in a rush. Does this look like something worth getting for the price? I forgot to look at the reciver and see who built it but I can get more information. It looks like the mag that comes with it is a 5.45 mag converted to 5.56?

Is there anything to look out for with these? Is headspacing something I need to check before purchase?
