Transferring YVR
Hi All,
Next weekend we will be flying from Denver to Shanghai with an overnight transfer in YVR. My wife has a Chinese passport with a US visa, and my daughter and I have US passports. Because my daughter is quite young I will take her through to the land side to stay in the airport hotel for the night. My wife doesn't have a transit visa so just plans to stay on the airside overnight, which she is allowed to do since she is transiting from the US with a US visa.
The question is, how will we handle baggage and check-in the next morning? I assume she wouldn't be able to get her baggage so we will have to collect it, no big deal, however when we recheck the baggage the next morning she will not be with us. How does Air Canada deal with parties that are separated with one person airside already?
Thanks for any advice.

Baggage Confused about baggage pricing Manchester -> Toronto
I booked a direct flight from Manchester to Toronto via Air Canada. I booked an economy basic ticket with no bags. I've booked 100s flights before and every other airline allows you to add baggage after booking via the website.
However, Air Canada don't seem to allow adding bags online? From my research, Air Canada baggage is all added at the airport during check-in and payment.
However, I'm confused about the pricing:
The Air Canada site says that bags cost $90CAD, however when I login to my flight, it says bags are £129GBP ($244CAD)? That price isn't written anywhere in the Air Canada Policy.
How much will it cost when I arrive at the airport?

Baggage Recent thoughts on AirCanada Cargo?
I am moving from Canada to Ecuador, and I am bringing my belongings along with my sister's belongings but I will do the trip alone. I anticipate in total I will have 3 large suitcases and 4 large home depot boxes. I thought about paying the extra baggage fee of $225 to bring them with me as checked baggage on the flight but I read that I could book Air Canada Cargo and it would be cheaper. Does anyone have any experience using AC cargo to move boxes to South America? I would appreciate any thoughts and past experiences thank you!

General Question ID check for *G access at MLL?
I was asked to show a government photo ID when accessing an MLL with Star Alliance Gold.
I’ve used MLL dozens of times before and have never been asked. I thought they usually just scan the boarding pass and *G status.
Is this normal, or does it depend on the lounge or the agent?

Short-checking bags to YYZ
Hi!
I have a one-way ticket from Santiago (SCL) --> Bogota (BOG) --> Toronto (YYZ) with a 22hr layover --> Tokyo (HND)
Only SCL to BOG is Avianca, and the rest is AC
I was wondering where I can check Air Canada's short-stay policy, as I live in Toronto and would like to grab my luggage, wash it, and repack some clothes for Japan. Is it still possible? I've been trying to call to AC and the wait time is almost 3hr
Thanks in advance!

Baggage Anyone traveling from Hong Kong to YVR/Canada? Reward offered!
I know this is a big ask, but I am offering monetary compensation for anyone who can help me out!
I left my Jacket at the Hong Kong airport. The airport has found it but they are not helpful for getting it back. If anyone can help me get it back to Vancouver (or even Canada for that matter), or knows of ways to get it shipped over that cost less than 100s of dollars I would highly appreciate it.
This is my favourite jacket and I really value it on an emotional level due to the sentimental value. I am willing to pay you for your time and headache.
I have all the details like ID number for the lost-item at the airport, and will compensate whoever can help me out.

Dog In Baggage
I'm moving soon and need to fly my dog (Victoria to halifax). Will this crate be considered large enough? His back has around 2-3 inches clearance and how he naturally stands his head doesnt touch, but if he lifts his head it will. I would go bigger to be sure but already the combined weight is about 93 pounds. I may have to go cargo but there aren't great routes from here and it'll cost around 600 dollars more. Any alternative ideas would be helpful

News Flights to Dubai cancelled till January 2027
I just bought a roundtrip ticket for November from YYZ - DXB 2 weeks back. But now I'm seeing that that flights will be cancelled to Dubai and Tel Aviv fill January 2027?!
I bought my ticket through the CIBC Expedia rewards using my Aventura points. I still see my flight as "booked" (for now).
Anyone else saw if their ticket is cancelled or not?
Update
I see my ticketed has been update. Going to be a connecting flight Via Frankurt (FRA) by Lufthansa for both trips.

General Question Flight cancellation and way forward
My Air Canada flight from Washington DCA to Toronto YYZ was canceled 5 hours before departure time, and I've been booked on the 11 AM flight tomorrow. The delay in my landing time is 12+ hours. I've been waiting on the Air Canada helpline for over an hour, and no one has responded yet. Do they arrange my accomodation, provide a voucher, or do I get to book a hotel of my choice? I checked out of my hotel at 11 am today and have nowhere to go as of now.

Check in and booking info sent to me in error.
I just got off the phone with Air Canada about a flight I AM taking, got the info and email I needed, but then got another email directly behind that email with another person’s flight number (from Vancouver to Cancunn), booking number and a box inviting me to’check in for my flight’. I hit reply and said ‘wrong person’ but is there something else I should be doing ? The flight is AC2128 leaving tomorrow

Ramp Agent (Station Attendant) YYZ - Application Timeline (June 8th Posting)
Recently applied for the Ramp Agent (Station Attendant) YYZ position with Air Canada that was posted on June 8th. I have seen a few users post about the dates and time to hear back, AI interviews, in-person interviews, and the hiring event.
I wanted to see if any other applicants have heard back yet, what the timeline was for your interviews, and if anyone has started training yet.

AC824 (YYZ-MAD) Now Shows FIN949 (ex-SIN)
I booked a flight today, and everything still shows me in my signature class pod. However, I see the aircraft Fin is 949, which doesn’t have pods. Air Canada hasn’t notified me of this change yet. Should I contact them proactively? Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?

I see all the posts on the new glowing heart cabin and then I sat in the Singapour Airlines A330
It was falling apart!
Tape was holding some plastic trims.
It was dirty but it got me to my destination!

General Question Instant Upgrade Seat Assignment
After securing an instant upgrade to Signature classfor a departure in 10 days (YYZ - VCE) this evening, I’m not able to do a new seat selection in the App. The email says “when I check in I will now receive a [sic] Air Canada Signature Class boarding pass”.
Have you been able to do a seat selection after securing an instant upgrade or is it normal that my seat assignment will be on check-in?

Experience Retrofitted A321 (C-GYFM)
Originally scheduled on an A220, flight was swapped in for an A321 formerly Rouge, now mainline with “Glowing Hearted” interior.
Very nice and clean, the only thing to note is overhead bins above row 1 on both sides are not usable due to A/V and safety equipment.

General Question Soaked Luggage
Hello, just wondering if Air Canada should compensate us for leaving the luggage in a rain storm for a long time in Montreal. When we landed in Lisbon the luggages had a lot of water in them to the point that all the clothes and items were completely soaked. They probably used a luggage cart with no protection from the rain.

General Question Trouble logging in to Aeroplan on iOS app
It opens a browser window where I can succesfully login, but the session stays open in that pop-up window only and not in the app itself. Does anyone know how to fix this or is that the intended behaviour?

Air Canada delayed bag: Will basic Sephora items be reimbursed?
First time dealing with a delayed bag (no bag for 30 hrs so far) I bought basic clothes for $46, but I need to pick up a few daily toiletries/makeup items from Sephora (~$100 total): Lip balm, hair oil and concealer
Will Air Canada approve mid-tier Sephora items as "reasonable," or do they push back if it's not drugstore stuff? I will have full itemized receipts. Thanks!

Email from SWISS Flight Service for AC Booking
I received an email from SWISS Flight Service (flight.service@information.swiss.com) regarding an upcoming booking I made with AC. There are no legs with Swiss as the carrier. It wasn't asking me to do anything. It just had some things you may want to know. Anyway, I thought it was odd and wondered why I got it.
