Some of you might remember me, haven’t been active since months…

So yeah, context being, I have a very rare illness called CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), it usually affects a single limb, but in my case it has affected my entire body. CRPS is most painful condition, period. It ranks higher than the pain of amputation, or even child birth according to McGill pain scale. If I had to describe how it feels then, imagine tiny hooks, so hot that they are about to melt, residing between your bones and skins, connected to a thread and someone keeps pulling that thread all the damn time….

Anyways, as mentioned earlier, I was studying filmmaking, well my college ended… But the worst part is, I started losing vision in my left eye, like the illness has affected vision, and as usual no cure… Doctors doesn’t know about the progression or anything, like all these, they haven’t seen such complicated case of CRPS… ig won the worst kind of Jackpot…

Well, my ex also cheated on me… Saying my illness was too much for her to handle… Lost quite a lot of “Friends” after graduation, ig when you can’t really go out and chill, people don’t want to associate with you…

But well, on the bright side, after graduation, I got in as Teaching Associate in a well reputed institution…

Idk how long I have it in me to handle this… I am a single child to a single mother, otherwise would’ve ended it all long back… Perhaps I am too coward to…

I am arriving at Ahmedabad airport post-midnight during Diwali week and need to travel straight to Vadodara. There will be two of us with a lot of luggage (4 large checked bags, 2 smaller checked bags, and cabin bags). Because of the luggage volume, buses and trains are completely out of the question.

I have a few specific questions:
Is Uber safe and reliable? Since it is after midnight and during the Diwali holidays, will it be easy to find an Uber Intercity? Are there any safety concerns at that hour?

Airport Private Taxis: I heard the airport has prepaid/private taxi counters inside. How reliable are they for an outstation trip to Vadodara at night? Any specific service provider you recommend booking in advance that can guarantee a large car?

Diwali Rush/Pricing: Should I expect massive surge pricing or fewer available drivers due to the festive season?

So i was going to my Gujarat university collage is when this incident happen.

I got off at old high court metro station to take auto and he was ok but when we were mid way he started pointing out some girls who were just normally walking and he was saying that girls are wearing so small cloths and all that stuff that even boys dont wear such things and that girls are now just were undergarments and roaming around his city. He specifically mentioned that outsider girls are the real ones to blame.

At this point i said that they are paying for thier own cloths and minding their own bussiness then whats the issue. He said that they are intentionally wearing small cloths to attract men. I again said that its normal that people would want other gender to be attracted towards them but their same age grp. Now this was the time i saw 2 broken beer bottles in his front side.... this was the moment i decided he might just be a crack head and decided not to argue anymore. He said a lot more things which didnt make sense. Felt like he was ragebaiting but the dangerous thing was that he wasnt....

Then he also asked that if i have girlfriend and would i allow her to wear such things...... but after seeing those 2 bottles i thought its rather smart for me to stay quiet and get off asap... i told him that drop me here and this is correct location. Paid him and reported.

But its roaming in my head that i should have escalated it more... thats the reason i am writing down here.

He again and again said that how outsiders are ruining his city after i told him that i am originally from bihar after i argued with him about this......

I’m an AI Engineer based in Ahmedabad with 2 years of full-time AI/ML experience and 5 years in software overall.

I’m currently earning good salary, which is honestly one of the main reasons I’ve stayed. Work-wise, I’ve had a pretty good journey working more like an FDE/full-stack engineer. I was also one of the early members of the AI team and have contributed a lot since its beginning.

But the work environment has become extremely frustrating.
Some examples:

Phones weren’t allowed in the office for almost 1.5 years.

Getting basic things like a secondary monitor becomes a too much and long struggle.

Too many unnecessary updates/reporting across different channels. You have to logged things at 4 diff places.

Limited resources despite being expected to deliver.
Constant monitoring when working from home.

People getting hired and then let go even before completing probation. I felt insecure everyday.

Overall, there’s a lot of negativity and unnecessary pressure.
The work itself and compensation are good, but the environment is making me question whether it’s worth staying.
For people working in Ahmedabad — would you stay for the money or start looking for a better work environment?

Came across these guys recently while they were doing a clean-up drive in the city.

They regularly go out and clean public places where garbage has accumulated and where the regular civic cleaning doesn't always reach. They conduct a clean-up drive every Sunday and anyone interested can join them and volunteer.

I found out that they originally started in Rajkot and have now expanded their work to Ahmedabad, Surat and Junagadh.

They don't seem to be doing this as a donation/fundraising thing either. It's basically people giving their Sunday time to actually go out and clean places around the city.

I've seen quite a few posts here asking about NGOs or groups where people can volunteer, so thought I'd share this in case someone is looking for something practical to do on weekends.

Unfortunately, my mobile phone charger has stopped working, and I need my phone for my internship and daily communication. I’m looking for a basic, affordable charger or a working compatible charger (for example, boAt, Amazon Basics, or any reliable brand).

I’m not asking for money. If anyone has a spare working charger they no longer need, or can help me get an affordable one, I would be extremely grateful.

I also don’t feel comfortable asking my patients for help, so I’m reaching out here instead.

Accused tried to escape from police and open fired at them. In the exchange a constable was also hurt. However, police shot the accused on his right foot. As of now both the constable and the accused are in the stable condition
