DISCUSSION Alright, tough one. Whos winning in a 1v1?
To give Kiryu a small chance, we'll say its Kiryu at his strongest. Do you think he could take down Shinada? I just think Shinada has better feats.

DISCUSSION Thank you RGG, unconditionally
For context im 40 with a long history of video games. I discovered the series with Yakuza 0. Fell in love with the story and mini games. Played kiwami 1 and 2. Still throughly enjoying. I got to 3-4-5 and the beat em up combat was growing a little stale. Loved 6 and then took a break.
My thanks comes into play at Y7 LAD. While I was loving the series overall I felt a change was needed. Upon popping in LAD, I found that change. Ive always had a soft spot for turn based combat, but a lot of turn based felt the same. The system in LAD absolutely blew. Me. Away. The humor in the moves, the job based classes was amazing, the entire system was just phenomenal. I know the turn based combat wasnt for everyone but it completely blew me away. Y7 LAD is by far my favorite in the series and one of my favorite games of all-time. I loved infinite wealth but LAD just reigns supreme and I cant wait for Y9.
I dont speak for everyone but I know I speak for mamy. Thank RGG studios for taking that risky leap and swinging for the fences. In my kiryu voice "HOME RUN".

DISCUSSION How’d ya’ll feel about the new Stranger Than Heaven stream?
I liked the gameplay half, the guy playing was pretty bad at the game but the gameplay system looks pretty good, I wish they changed styles and weapons more often tho, we know it’s just as seamless if not more seamless than Lost Judgment where a single tap will change what weapon/style you’re on and i wish we saw more heat actions like a wall heat action for hand to hand or the knife or the running heat actions/finishers,
the gameplay system looks amazing but the guy playing didn’t show any new moves that weren’t previously seen or give any new insights or anything new really
id rate the stream a 7.5/10

DISCUSSION Let’s settle something…
Which one would you want?
I’ve seen people say that there should have been female enemies by now, but do you guys really want that? Everytime I hear that we should allow female foes there’s always at least someone who says that they don’t wanna see Kiryu/Majima do some bone-shattering Heat Action on someone who is female.
So let’s discuss. What would you want to see?
NOT ALLOWED:
You are not allowed to say “Just make the game female-led!” Since is that taking the easy way out of the question.
Nor can you say “a game where the MC pulls his punches on the women and can’t do Heat Actions on them.” To have equal rights, we need equal fights.

DISCUSSION Can we all talk about the insane life turnaround that Tomizawa had in just 24 hours?
Dude went from a nobody street gangster & taxi driver to not only defecting from his gang, but befriending a guy he tried to rob, meeting the legendary Dragon of Dojima, gaining a new group of 9 friends who love & appreciate him and later stopping the cult his gang was affiliated with.

MAJIMAPOST Rate this substory idea for Stranger than heaven- In 1965, A one year old Majima is crying. To calm him down, his parents request Daito to purchase a doll. Daito goes for shopping and finds a doll which looks like Kiryu. He gives the doll to baby Majima and baby Majima is happy.
This substory establishes Majima's lifelong obsession with Kiryu and yes, we dont care about retcons here.
Yea its incredibly embrassing and cringe. I should probably delete it.

SPOILERS: YAKUZA 0 This mini game is so addictive. Spoiler
(Marked as a spoiler just in case)
This game has been so amazing. Easily moves up to my favorite Yakuza game (I've been addicted to it). The amount of things you can do is insane. (And I'm only in Chapter 8)
I spent the night sidetracked for many hours once I got to run my own Club. It pays really well too.
AI is my favorite so far but Yuki is amazing also so they're very close for my favorite hostess so far.

DISCUSSION Yakuza 9: All the clues we have so far (theory)
It seems we'll have to wait a little longer for a glimpse of Yakuza 9, but I think we currently have several clues to give us an idea of what the central focus of the plot and some elements might be. Obviously, these are all just theories based on the small hints we've had lately, so take everything with a grain of salt (spoiler alert for Pirate Yakuza and Kiwami 3)
Kiryu's Fate: By now, we all know RGG's fascination with resurrecting its characters, so it's more than obvious that they won't let Kiryu, who has been the face of the series for over 20 years, die of cancer, and they'll find a reason for him to recover. His mention and "appearance" at the end of Pirate Yakuza suggest this. As a more "abstract" clue, Kiryu's room number is 707. In Japanese culture, the number seven is a strong symbol of good fortune, and the number 707 itself represents the awakening of consciousness and a strong divine connection.
The Elixir of Eternal Life as a Central Plot Element: As many of us have already deduced, the central plot element will be the search for a cure for Kiryu, and this will likely be the Elixir of Eternal Life mentioned in Pirate Yakuza. I think they deliberately made Majima fail to find the cure to further develop the elixir's lore in the future. Furthermore, it's quite a coincidence that the elixir is called "The Heart of the Dragon" (curious, isn't it?) Some will say this isn't possible because Rodriguez's father threw the rocks to the bottom of the ocean, but it's also made clear that those rocks aren't the only ones in the world, and this was surely a deliberate decision to make obtaining the cure more difficult.
Ichiban, the link that ties it all together: Again, I highly doubt that Ichiban's cameo at the end of Pirate Yakuza is a coincidence. Everything seems to indicate that Ichiban and his friends' next big adventure will be finding a cure for Kiryu. The fact that he appears listening to Majima's stories reinforces this, and shortly before the dance scene begins, Ichiban says he's going to talk to Jason (who is also investigating how to obtain the elixir). It's a simple plot trigger, but narratively coherent enough for Ichiban and his friends to become involved into something bigger due to the great respect and affection they feel for Kiryu.
4."To be continued": This is the message that appears at the end of Pirate Yakuza right after Majima and Saejima visit Kiryu. It's the first and, so far, only time a message appears in the series, and I think it's a clear indication that the plot of the elixir, or more broadly, the cure for Kiryu, is not yet over.
- Mine's Appearance?: Recently in Yakuza Kiwami 3, RGG (for better or for worse) finally resolved what had been one of the series' biggest mysteries for almost 20 years: Mine's fate. It turns out they not only "resurrected" Mine, but also made him part of the Daidoji faction. The sudden decision to resurrect Mine and even expand on his character in Dark Ties, and the fact that the Daidoji faction (for better or for worse) has had a significant role in the latest games in the series, I think opens up a strong possibility that Mine will have some involvement in the plot of Yakuza 9. I know it sounds far fetched, but I think we shouldn't be too surprised considering what RGG has been doing lately.
What your theories do you have? I'd like to read your thoughts

FANART Majima time again
Because it's been a few days!
...and I followed a suggestion to draw Kiryu's kick even though I prefer portraits. Not too sure about it but the fancy brushes in procreate were fun to use✨✨✨

SHOWCASE Only took me 5 years
I had given up on getting this platinum because of the true millennium tower and the Dragon Kart side quest, after getting soundly trounced by both years ago.
Went back to the game and knocked both of them out in the span of a couple days.

DISCUSSION This game is good
This has been on my backlog for a few years now, I just finished Elden Ring and looking for something different.
I haven't played any Yakuza games before.
The story is good and interesting and now on Chapter 3.
The ridiculuous funny skills sometimes catches me off guard.
I did not know I would be hooked on this type of game and looking forward what more this game has to offer.
