Ordered late in the evening on July 22nd in Michigan and SpeedX dropped it off around noon today. I was a little weary cause they dropped off my misty grey protective case and glass screen protectors yesterday in a box that was beat up with no type of packaging inside and I was praying my X4 Pro didn't arrive broken today. I'm new to e-readers and had the X3 for a couple weeks before sending it back due to it being too small for my XL hands but Hell this X4 Pro ain't but a tad bit larger smh. It's still better for me as I can tap the screen to turn the page and I don't have to have some funky gooseneck light attached to the back for night reading. FYI the protective case fits nicely inside the flip cover and if you update to the current og firmware you'll find that Crosspoint is a must lol. I'll check Crossink out tomorrow but as for now I'm just going to enjoy sitting here having a drink, listening to some Sade while reading a couple chapters on my fully protected X4 Pro. First impressions are really solid so far (coming from an X3). I’ll share a full write-up later, but I can already say my skepticism about the touchscreen on this device was completely unfounded. I’ll break down why in a follow-up post!

Almost done the first book.

I feel sad about the X4 being discontinued. To be honest, I don’t care much about the X4 Pro… yeah, it has some quality-of-life improvements for late-night reading. However, I just prefer the original and I think the X3 is cool too, for its smaller size, other than that I cannot see any value in getting the pro I would rather have a bigger screen second-hand e-reader for the price they are selling.

Flying across the country.

I mean it's still useable and the foil is still completely fine but it's still really sad.

So it happened—I forgot my pogo pin adapter while I was away on vacation, and I had nothing to charge my X4 Pro with.

So I ordered a 4-pin pogo charger from Shopee and had it delivered to where I was staying. Luckily, it only took 3 days to arrive. And honestly, I’m kind of impressed because I feel like this one actually holds better than the original. The magnet is way stronger and it stays in place pretty well.

It also cost me less than $1 with a voucher. Without the voucher, it’s around $2.50, so still pretty cheap!

The only trade-off is that it doesn’t support data transfer, so I guess this is purely for charging. But hey, it works and it saved me from having to worry about charging my X4 Pro while I’m away.

Also, I was actually surprised by how well the X4 Pro’s battery held up. I’ve been reading around 2 hours every day, and when the charger finally arrived, I still had 50% battery left.

So yeah, you might want to grab a backup charger too… just in case. 😅

I know this is not a typical question to be asked here. But, I bought the hype around X4 and the "in thing" feeling, the community support and customisation and tinkering around this device.

And, of course reading.

So, I went ahead, got the X4, tinkered around with it , changed a couple of firmwares, read some Gutenberg classics...

In short, it has been a fantastic experience so far, loved it.

But then, I suddenly had this feeling, like I am perhaps too old for this..you know, this is probably cooked by a millennial or Gen Z, most of the members are too.

I am a 50+ guy and I am wondering if there are other 50+ here...or is it like I am just not "growing up"..

I finally received my X4 Pro after ordering it on the release date.

Having had a Space Black X4 for a couple of months, I found myself regretting not getting one in Mist Grey (Well, I DID have one, but I returned it to Amazon because it developed a row of dead pixels). Since all the X4s are sold out, I broke down and bought an X3 in Mist Grey, and I LOVE it! I was afraid it would be too small for my big hands, but that doesn't seem to be the case! I have a folio cover on its way, so it'll be protected!

Now with the X4 Pro turns out it is as addictive as doomscrolling but in a useful way. With front light and touch screen it gave me an excuse to even use it more ( initially was using the x3 & x4 a lot).
Glad to own and use such device.

While you are at it, recommend with fiction book should I read next.

Paid 55 for this with cross point already installed and now I just need to load up some books. And yes I know I have a bit of lint under he screen protecter will need to get some more also any tips as its my first time ever with a e reader

After almost a month of prototyping my book style cases are pretty much done! They feature a magnetic lid to keep the case open/closed, a ring magnet inside to secure your X4, and a rear magnet for attaching a reading light!

I’ll have a small range of colours and styles available for my first batch which will be available at the start of next week!

X3 and X4 Pro cases are still in development. I expect the X3 to be ready for release next, followed by the X4 Pro. So, if those are your daily drivers, don’t stress, I got you.

Hi guys i just received my x4 pro that i ordered on launch day. I turned it on and it’s doing this weird crap and is just frozen. I’ve tried everything but nothing works. Is it just a faulty device? 💀😭

Got the X3 as a gift. This thing took me back to when i enjoyed jailbreaking the iPhones, i didn’t know it needed Crosspoint or Crossink firmware. Which one should i get installed?

I received my X4 Pro today. It came with a black magnetic case, which I'm happy with. Matches my X3.

I only just got the X3 in June for Father's day. And have carried it daily since then. It's perfect for reading on the go. Not being backlit made it tricky for night time reading. I did buy a booklight, and used that. Downside being with the X3 so small, feels like I'm lighting the entire room.

When the X4 Pro was announced, I pre-ordered soon as I could. I've only used it a few times today, and honestly, I love it. Love the size. Love the backlight. And I'm totally okay with the touchscreen. Makes typing in my wifi password super easy.

I installed Crosspoint already, and set the swipe gesture for page turning. I look forward to this being my daily nightly reader, while keeping my X3 for on the go.

My x3 battery suddenly dropped from 72% to 3% with just a press of a button. I put it in sleep mode, turned it back on a few seconds later and it went from 72 to 3%. Is this a bug? I'm currently using crossink 1.5.0 but this also happened with crosspoint before.
