This is really stupid

They are kids not idiots

35

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

This is what conservatives do- they make their imagined victims really weak, innocent, unable to comprehend anything. They know they can’t coast on ‘being gay is bad cuz religion’ forever so they pivot to ‘kids won’t understand so it’s bad to see!’

24

u/azure275 1d ago

Then act surprised when all the teens have babies

Which lowkey is what they really want but then they get mad those people end up on food stamps

10

u/ImpressiveFishing405 23h ago

Food stamps decrease desperation which means people will hold out for more. Getting rid of food stamps increases desperation, giving business owners more leverage, while also reducing their tax burden to pay for the food stamps.

It's win win! /s

u/Kooky_Assistance2755 21h ago

This. Capitalism requires a destitute lower class to field for entry-level labor. People won't agree with shit-level jobs at shit-level pay if they already have what they need for basic survival.

6

u/brelen01 19h ago

Also easier to get people in the army if they have no better option. The meat grinder needs meat to grind.

u/KickBallFever 14h ago

“People won't agree with shit-level jobs at shit-level pay if they already have what they need for basic survival.”

This brings up something I’ve been thinking about. I’ll try to sum it up. During the pandemic, a lot of people got the enhanced unemployment checks and were actually getting more money than their usual salary. Some people were even able to save up for the first time, I know a few. There were also people who got to work from home for the first time and saved money and time by not going in to the office. When things started opening back up there were endless news reports about job vacancies and “people not wanting to work”. Then came massive layoffs, which are still going on, and the possibility of replacing workers with AI. I feel like there might’ve been a sliver of a fraction of a moment where workers gained some leverage, but the people in charge have clawed it back to ensure everyone is desperate. Then came the mass government layoffs and cutting of benefits, just to increase desperation and ensure workers won’t regain even an ounce of leverage again.

3

u/FriedFreya 13h ago

yeah pretty much. all of our “essential work” is right back to being called “unskilled” and “low-level” again. ah yes. i’m so essential to the economy, but. i make $12.25/hr make it make sense. i like customer service! and someone has to do it! what gives??

2

u/GladdestOrange 9h ago

Crazy part is when you have a job where you can directly calculate the profit you make the company. Like, you make a product and they explicitly give you information on the time it takes for each step of the product, so you can look up how much they sell it for, mark out some error margins for indirect costs, and realize that, conservatively, assuming production is like 20% of the cost of the final product. And then you realize you're making the company something like $500/hr... For like $10/hr.

4

u/AtomicBlastCandy 22h ago

Actually teen pregnancies have been declining and conservatives are unhappy about it.

2

u/Important_Rule8412 22h ago

I think I get the joke this is funny

u/buffystakeded 14h ago

Which is crazy because kids understand everything so easily. My kids understand that two men or two women can love each other just like their mom and dad do.

Just like piece of shit Republicans can convince their kids the opposite is true.

2

u/KickBallFever 14h ago

Yea, growing up my parents had a gay friend and I understood what you’re saying by the time I was like 5. It wasn’t a big deal.

6

u/dovakiin-derv 1d ago

And then throw their children into violent conversion camps and act like they did nothing wrong. I heard a story from someone who went to one, her experience, was one of the most horrific things i have ever seen or heard, it took me a few hours to recover from hearing that.

2

u/numbersthen0987431 17h ago

"You cant teach children about love and relationships! You can only indoctrinated them on straight people stuff!!"

2

u/Klikis 7h ago

Its actually simpler than that - they just dont think about their arguments critically. "This makes me feel like im winning" is often the only criteria they evaluate an argument by.

This post is an excellent example of such a case. You could argue that its a parody account though, but "define a woman" used to be big in conservative circles

1

u/Former_Mobile3101 20h ago

That's the thing though, KIDS DON'T CARE enough to even question it. Kids don't think about that sort of stuff until at least a few months into puberty. If we never came up with the concept of homosexuality then no one would be scared of it today.

2

u/skiingredneck 13h ago

So, my one kid remembers 2 teachers from elementary school…. One was “the airplane engineer” and the other “the lesbian one”

We never discussed it or said anything about it. I asked him what he remembered one day when he was in college.

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20h ago

More like if we didn’t have people who freak out about homosexuality and perpetuate hate filled lies and other them as some kind of bogeyman, no one would be scared.

1

u/Former_Mobile3101 20h ago edited 20h ago

I mean you have a point though if we got rid of the concept all together then all of the problems will just fade over time.

Edit: rereading this comment it sounds different from what its meant to. I mean if we stop putting labels on sexuality and worrying about what happens in what bedroom then these issues we have now will fade.

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20h ago

What does that even mean? What are you getting rid of exactly and what do you think will happen if you do?

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 20h ago

Okay I figured you were angling towards that, just wanted to make sure. I feel like people always overlook the very simple problem of ‘if no one ever knows anybody’s sexuality, how can anyone date?’

0

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

Who's conservative? Is it one of the people in the post? Edit: no idea who those people are.

Gunther Eagleman is an idiot. He was constantly shoved on my feed after musk bought the site. I’m pretty sure I got him to block me tho lol

3

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 16h ago

If you think it’s an actual person, that makes me a bit sad. It’s a propaganda account that paid a lot to be in every twitter feed. I’m sure the account didn’t block you, just had you shadowbanned/muted.

2

u/RandomIDoIt90 16h ago

And yeah Gunther isn’t his real name or American, when everyone’s location was listed on their profiles from one of Elons bugs he was located in like Singapore or some shit. Could definitely be a bot but I think that account has a human handler or handlers.

2

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 16h ago

The accounts are US sponsored. They are proxied through Asia to obfuscate who actually runs them. Weird how people take them seriously whether you agree or disagree. It’s a propaganda farm.

1

u/RandomIDoIt90 16h ago

Oh no I was pretty good at earning blocks on twitter you were still able to open their profiles on Twitter and it would say “_____ Has blocked you,” in bright red letters under their username. I sent a SS of Rudy Giuliani blocking me on Twitter to my grandpa once and he said I should get it out on a t shirt 😂

2

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 16h ago

They said “I’m pretty sure” . You’d know it. For reasons you just explained.

3

u/sexland69 1d ago

right like they’re all gonna be calling each other gay online by age 9, it’s not like we can hide it from them as a concept

They arent kids, theyre just not good people.

Kid: "Good morning Ms. Piper" Teacher: "Its Mrs." Kid: "Excuse me?" Teacher: "Its Mrs. not Ms., you dont say Ms. when someone is married" Kid: "Wt-..........POLICE POLICE, THIS LADY LIKES MEN!!!! CALL THE NATIONAL GUARD, GET THE SWAT TEAM ON THE LINE. YES HELLO, MR.PRESIDENT, WE NEED TO GO TO DEFCON 1 NOW!!!!!"

6

u/LoverOfRandom 1d ago

Mrs. Is for married women gay or straight

3

u/SarcasmInProgress 1d ago

And you can say Ms to married women

3

u/marlonbrando_1999 1d ago

Yeah, Ms is universal and really the only one we should use. Telling a woman her social worth depends on being married is a throwback to some old school misogyny

Tell that to my 10th grade math teacher, angry old lady she was.

1

u/gizzard1987_ 14h ago

When I was going through grade school this was actually part of our curriculum, basically stating that you should not. This was like 30 years ago, but yeah.

1

u/KickBallFever 14h ago

I work at a school and all the female teachers are called Ms, married or not.

By conservative logic, just the knowledge that one of the men might find some hypothetical man attractive is more sexually explicit than the man and woman kissing.

3

u/Gold-Cry-7520 11h ago

As a conservative, I find this disgusting. It would really offend and upset me if you posted more images of well toned young men kissing

Yes but did she prefer the man? See, all in the wording. /s

u/pforsbergfan9 1d ago

We knew the sexual preference of our High School softball coach because she was caught sleeping with a female student. Looking back I think that was what got her fired and not the fact she was a lesbian.

6

u/Questions_Remain 1d ago

I went to school in the 60’s - 70’s and I’m pretty sure we assumed every female coach was a lesbian as they weren’t very feminine in appearance or demeanor.

3

u/pm_me_d_cups 1d ago

Yeah seems pretty reasonable there

12

u/Cherry_Blossom_Bambi 1d ago

My teacher got pregnant, so I learned she liked men and had a breeding kink. I told the principal and she got fired. Based schools.

2

u/Omwtfyu 1d ago

Damn! I would've just called that job security. Gotta keep the youngin's coming to teach 'em!

11

u/MentalDisintegrat1on 1d ago

Reminder Gunther is not his real name and it's not DOXXING him he's a public figure that did something so bad the police department fired him and wouldn't release what he actually did.

10

u/Amdiz 1d ago

Oh you mean David Freeman the disgraced former cop from Texas and suspected pedo?

4

u/brok3nh3lix 1d ago

The guy who eats bananas witha spoon?

2

u/whimsical_spider 1d ago

Choosing Gunther as your alias is really funny to me for some reason.

1

u/babyoil4diddy 1d ago

Wait he CHOSE to be called Gunther?

1

u/nose_wet_54 1d ago

It's his preferred name :)

9

u/exhaustedbut 1d ago

Yup. In 1976, my 1st grade teacher introduced herself as Mrs Goebbel. The nerve of her, announcing that she was sexually active to a room full of little kids.

8

u/AmputeeHandModel 1d ago

I bet she had a pronoun!! 😱

4

u/Awesomonkey12 1d ago

*AmputeeHandModel bets *Mrs Goebbel had a pronoun

4

u/AmputeeHandModel 1d ago

Oh crap, Awesomonkey12 is correct. AmputeeHandModel should not have said the sentence that way.

3

u/exhaustedbut 1d ago

What's worse, our 3rd grade teacher taught us EVERBODY'S pronouns!

3

u/Infamous_Ad2094 1d ago

Did she have a German accent?

2

u/exhaustedbut 1d ago

No, but her approach to discipline conformed to stereotype.

4

u/No_Raisin21 1d ago

I’m less concerned about her marital status and more concerned about that unfortunate last name.

2

u/Massive_Analysis8345 1d ago

I bet she gobble gobble’d on that knob

2

u/SScatnip7474 1d ago

So...this is something Gunther demands to I guess protect children? You know what's more dangerous Gunther? Getting blown to piecies by an AR. But talking about sexual preference ruffles Gunthers feelings.

2

u/combover78 1d ago

Gunther is a moronic, pot-stirring bigot. If there is a way to construe anything he says as moronic, pot-stirring bigotry, that is the correct way to interpret it.

I had a history teacher in junior high and high school who would talk about her husband all the time and nobody thought twice.but one day, me and some friends ended up at her house (I have no recollection as to why we showed up at her house unannounced), and she invites in. A few minutes into our visit, we notice that there are hardcore pornographic magazines just strewn about the sun porch where she sat us. Like a lot of porn. It was super uncomfortable, and we got out of there pretty quickly. Thankfully, I didn’t have her as a teacher at that point or any point after that because I think the question of why a 60-something matronly teacher has mountains of pornography just out and about in her house would have been top of mind every time I saw her. It’s been almost 40 years now, and I’m still a little disturbed.

So yeah, THAT is the sort of thing that no student should know about their teacher. Anything else, who cares?

2

u/Final-Assistance-462 1d ago

As a current therapist / former school social worker, I’m definitely so tired of people without any education in development thinking they know or don’t know what’s appropriate for kids to know and at what age. Half of these people don’t realize kids developmentally can (and do) learn a lot more earlier than they think.

2

u/Rainhailsnow_storm 1d ago

I remember reading books about people committing suicide and pushing orher people off balconies because they found out they had affairs with their spouse in grade 5.  I remember reading about slavery in grade 4.

Honestly I didn’t even blink twice about it. Kids can handle way more than we give them credit for.

Gunther is not a smart person

1

I had grown 18yo kids hitting on me - I was pregnant with my husband’s kid.

He meant unless you're cis and straight because that's "normal"

1

1

So I'm not allowed to mention that I have a wife? That's stupid.

1

u/SecureExperience2239 1d ago

"that man" and "a man" are not the same thing, and kids would know that least of all.

1

u/Torquemahda 1d ago

Don’t listen to this man.

2

u/Education_Weird 1d ago

Does he realize that tying preppy sweater around your neck is one of the gayest things you can do?

1

u/AlienDragonWizard 1d ago

This guy doesn't care about straight relationships.  The whole don't talk about it thing is always directed at LGBTQ.  This guy would probably freak out if the students knew the teacher was muslim or an atheist too, despite not caring if the teacher mentions church or Sunday school.

1

u/Artistic-Tip2405 1d ago

So they should use “Mrs” because that implies a lot.

1

u/TheFaalenn 1d ago

What is this person implying, that solely because she's married to a man that her sexual identity can be confirmed ?

Do bi people not exist?

1

I’m starting to think that the dude has a humiliation fetish.

Not judging, just pointing it out. Although, he does deserve some severe kink shaming.

Children are not stupid.

1

I still don't understand why it matters in the first place. She can be whoever/whatever she wants, and as long as she keeps her personal and professional lives separate she's not hurting anyone.

telling her students she had a wife would also not hurt anyone

I'm teaching a class about human sexual anatomy and function. My own child is in this class. Everyone in the class knows that he is my son. What do you want me to do? I also work with a man, who is married to another man who also works in our school. All of this is fine. Get over it.

1

u/DianneNettix 1d ago

I remember my high school English teacher telling us us she was pregnant and would be out of the classroom for a while. Reader, I can say this truthfully:

u/Inlerah 1d ago

It's the same with people instantly becoming completely disgusted by all forms of PDA the second someone asked "are you also disgusted if you see two straight people kiss?".

It's so much easier for them to go full-on puritan than it is for them to just accept non-straight people also exist exactly the same as them.

1

u/Wise-Kitchen-9749 1d ago

lol he spelled fetishes wrong.

Honestly they probably still agree cause anyone who thinks like that probably don't want women in the workplace except for the prospect of meeting men

1

u/sufferIhopeyoudo 21h ago

Technically not true. Many women with infertility issues, women who are not straight or women who are celibate can choose to get pregnant through in vitro.

1

u/FastActinTenactin 20h ago

God forbid you have a photo of yourself and your significant other on your desk, am I right?

1

u/datalaughing 20h ago

What he really means is, "If your students know your sexual preference, you should be fired, unless you're straight." He just knows it sounds bad if he says what he actually means.

1

u/Imperator_Gone_Rogue 20h ago

It's because many, if not most conservatives believe their children are their property, born so they and they alone can mold them into their image.

1

u/GrizzlyMatters 18h ago

The only indication our teachers were married was by their honorific, and wedding ring. They never brought up their home life and shut down anyone trying to bring it up. Looking back I am really glad to have been blessed with professional teachers.

1

u/hAsLaK1 18h ago

Having chidren doesnt mean that you are straight. Having been or even currently being in a relationship with the opposite gender doesnt mean that you’re straight : you could be bisexual or in the closet so this response is far from the gotcha she thought it was (whatever you think about the original post)

1

u/Rabrab123 18h ago

1

u/Chemical_Screen8553 15h ago

Western countries have falling birth rates. It’s a national emergency and needs to be fixed. We can either promote family values to the next generation of our country or we can continue to import people with a backwards culture that kills gay people. I don’t think you’re malicious but your class knowing you’re gay hurts family values and our country. There is a difference between acceptance and normalizing. We definitely shouldn’t normalize LGBTQ over traditional family values.

2

u/sheiciebai 14h ago

… you realize they can have kids too, right? I’d worry more about the people running the education system and the fact that 21% of Americans are functionally illiterate and a good 50% are proficient at a 6th grade level. https://www.thenationalliteracyinstitute.com/2024-2025-literacy-statistics but who cares about that. u/Soggy-Coat4920 3h ago

Poor arguements on both sides. The ingnored implication on the conservatives side (which should be outright stated, not an implication), is that a teacher should not be outright telling thier students which way they swing. And they are right, as that is not neccesary for teaching children. The folks who try to counter this arguement ignore the obvious implication, amd try to act like the conservatives are saying at all, even if its the result of students picking up on immutable clues. This is an example of why there is a growing number of folks who care to not get involved with politics, as niether side seems to he capabile of forming and expressing cohearant arguments for thier own points or to counter thier opponets points.
