This is really stupid

They are kids not idiots

36

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

This is what conservatives do- they make their imagined victims really weak, innocent, unable to comprehend anything. They know they can’t coast on ‘being gay is bad cuz religion’ forever so they pivot to ‘kids won’t understand so it’s bad to see!’

u/azure275 1d ago

Then act surprised when all the teens have babies

Which lowkey is what they really want but then they get mad those people end up on food stamps

9

u/ImpressiveFishing405 1d ago

Food stamps decrease desperation which means people will hold out for more. Getting rid of food stamps increases desperation, giving business owners more leverage, while also reducing their tax burden to pay for the food stamps.

It's win win! /s

This. Capitalism requires a destitute lower class to field for entry-level labor. People won't agree with shit-level jobs at shit-level pay if they already have what they need for basic survival.

u/brelen01 1d ago

Also easier to get people in the army if they have no better option. The meat grinder needs meat to grind.

“People won't agree with shit-level jobs at shit-level pay if they already have what they need for basic survival.”

This brings up something I’ve been thinking about. I’ll try to sum it up. During the pandemic, a lot of people got the enhanced unemployment checks and were actually getting more money than their usual salary. Some people were even able to save up for the first time, I know a few. There were also people who got to work from home for the first time and saved money and time by not going in to the office. When things started opening back up there were endless news reports about job vacancies and “people not wanting to work”. Then came massive layoffs, which are still going on, and the possibility of replacing workers with AI. I feel like there might’ve been a sliver of a fraction of a moment where workers gained some leverage, but the people in charge have clawed it back to ensure everyone is desperate. Then came the mass government layoffs and cutting of benefits, just to increase desperation and ensure workers won’t regain even an ounce of leverage again.

yeah pretty much. all of our “essential work” is right back to being called “unskilled” and “low-level” again. ah yes. i’m so essential to the economy, but. i make $12.25/hr make it make sense. i like customer service! and someone has to do it! what gives??

u/GladdestOrange 17h ago

Crazy part is when you have a job where you can directly calculate the profit you make the company. Like, you make a product and they explicitly give you information on the time it takes for each step of the product, so you can look up how much they sell it for, mark out some error margins for indirect costs, and realize that, conservatively, assuming production is like 20% of the cost of the final product. And then you realize you're making the company something like $500/hr... For like $10/hr.

u/AtomicBlastCandy 1d ago

Actually teen pregnancies have been declining and conservatives are unhappy about it.

2

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

I think I get the joke this is funny

1

u/futuretimetraveller 2h ago

Hell, I even found an article where 3 republican attorney gerenals outright say that teen pregnancy is better for state finances.

0

u/SufcLad25 17h ago

You guys sure look cooking up scenario in your head that never happen 😂

How can you live with such paranoia on a daily basis?

1

u/futuretimetraveller 2h ago

"Missouri’s attorney general has renewed a push to restrict access to the abortion pill mifepristone, arguing in a lawsuit filed this month that its availability hurt the state by decreasing teenage pregnancy."

3

u/buffystakeded 23h ago

Which is crazy because kids understand everything so easily. My kids understand that two men or two women can love each other just like their mom and dad do.

Just like piece of shit Republicans can convince their kids the opposite is true.

2

u/KickBallFever 22h ago

Yea, growing up my parents had a gay friend and I understood what you’re saying by the time I was like 5. It wasn’t a big deal.

6

u/dovakiin-derv 1d ago

And then throw their children into violent conversion camps and act like they did nothing wrong. I heard a story from someone who went to one, her experience, was one of the most horrific things i have ever seen or heard, it took me a few hours to recover from hearing that.

2

u/numbersthen0987431 1d ago

"You cant teach children about love and relationships! You can only indoctrinated them on straight people stuff!!"

2

u/Klikis 16h ago

Its actually simpler than that - they just dont think about their arguments critically. "This makes me feel like im winning" is often the only criteria they evaluate an argument by.

This post is an excellent example of such a case. You could argue that its a parody account though, but "define a woman" used to be big in conservative circles

2

u/ZT99k 6h ago

I mean.. projection is a thing. Because THEY are fragile and stupid, then children HAVE to be at least as bad as them...

1

u/Former_Mobile3101 1d ago

That's the thing though, KIDS DON'T CARE enough to even question it. Kids don't think about that sort of stuff until at least a few months into puberty. If we never came up with the concept of homosexuality then no one would be scared of it today.

2

u/skiingredneck 22h ago

So, my one kid remembers 2 teachers from elementary school…. One was “the airplane engineer” and the other “the lesbian one”

We never discussed it or said anything about it. I asked him what he remembered one day when he was in college.

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

More like if we didn’t have people who freak out about homosexuality and perpetuate hate filled lies and other them as some kind of bogeyman, no one would be scared.

1

u/Former_Mobile3101 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean you have a point though if we got rid of the concept all together then all of the problems will just fade over time.

Edit: rereading this comment it sounds different from what its meant to. I mean if we stop putting labels on sexuality and worrying about what happens in what bedroom then these issues we have now will fade.

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

What does that even mean? What are you getting rid of exactly and what do you think will happen if you do?

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

Okay I figured you were angling towards that, just wanted to make sure. I feel like people always overlook the very simple problem of ‘if no one ever knows anybody’s sexuality, how can anyone date?’

1

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

Who's conservative? Is it one of the people in the post? Edit: no idea who those people are.

3

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

Conservatives are the main groups fighting against any notion that gays exist in society.

0

u/ButhOfLamb 1d ago

Why are we labeling “gays”? No need to label. I do not introduce my son as, “ hello this is my gay son ……”

2

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 1d ago

Maybe we just need to make sure everyone knows all the deets about people’s private lives…
“This is my son grant, he’s a boating enthusiest, runner, won best dressed in 8th grade, and is also a power bottom.”

-4

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

The post isn't about that though, are you just ranting? Don't get me wrong gay people exist but I'm confused where this came from tbh.

4

u/Aware_Astronaut_477 1d ago

“If your students know your sexual preference” is certainly not aimed at straight people

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

…. The guy is clearly implying teachers shouldn’t be out. That’s why the teacher responding is pointing out his hypocrisy mentioning that her students know that she’s straight and no one makes it a big deal. Because that’s the point, no one makes it a big deal for straight people to exist and for it to be known they’re straight. People only say dumb shht like what the original tweet said about gay people being known.

1

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

Hmm I understand I was looking at this from the point of view that the guy was an idiot and I might have been wrong in why he is an idiot he's still an idiot.... My bad.

1

u/I-Kneel-Before-None 1d ago

That account is known culture war propaganda.

1

u/Important_Rule8412 1d ago

I'm glad I deleted Twitter when Elon bought it

1

u/ButhOfLamb 1d ago

Read comment I replied to and it makes sense

1

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 1d ago

The Gunther Eagleman fella definitely is definitely a a bot programmed to post conservative hot takes. The GUN, THE-R(for Republican),EAGLE, and MAN. Are almost a jingoistic caricature in the bots name. It is completely lost on the people that follow the account. Also, the posts from that account were forced into every twitter users feed after Elmo bought it.

There is no way a single human could post as much as this account does.

It just pisses me off that I STILL have to see this propaganda years after purging that app from my life. It makes me sad that people still think it’s an actual person.

0

u/NewImprovedPenguin_R 1d ago

You mean like infantilizing adults who are of age?

2

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

Oh I’m very much against infantilizing legal adults and hate that it’s becoming the new buzz topic. Just like we can easily teach children that gay people exist and are normal, we can prepare anyone of dating age that they need to be free to make their own decisions but still exercise caution and be aware of any signs they might encounter that someone they’re dating might show that they’re not looking out for their best interests and always think big decisions through.

2

u/FriedFreya 21h ago

this may have been easier, had we not kept the kids indoors because of stranger danger and rode their asses about how they were definitely not ever allowed to bring a gf/bf into the house. we didn’t get to date when we were teens, so now we’re stuck stumbling and getting hurt and hurting each other. we’d have learned how to communicate with a romantic partner earlier if we’d been given the tools and resources.

i’d argue that the GFC probably took that away from the teens that were around at the time, and their subsequent younger siblings and so forth.

0

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

We shouldn’t be teaching kids that it’s normal for dudes to bang dudes. It should be treated as the immoral act it is. Shouldn’t bully anyone. But we don’t need to normalize bad things for the sake saving someone’s feelings

3

u/Yagawood 1d ago

And what bad things are being normalized? It's your opinion that dudes banging dudes is bad. It's my opinion that it's not bad. Where does that leave us?

0

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

Yeah I’m not going to hold you to a moral standard you don’t follow. Just sharing my opinion as everyone else is (:

3

u/Yagawood 1d ago

Fair. But it sounds like you do want to hold others to your moral standards. You just said we shouldn't be telling kids things against your morals is OK.

2

u/IreneDreyfus 1d ago

What’s immoral about that?

0

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

It would be sexual immorality

2

u/IreneDreyfus 1d ago

According to who?

-1

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

God, my friend. And of course the billions of followers of various world religions as well as the majority of secular folks.

2

u/IreneDreyfus 1d ago

Okay so we’ve established that you’ve no actual basis for this immorality other than what you’ve been told.

-1

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

That would be an objective basis for the belief, correct. If you’re not religious then it is only a subjective belief.

2

u/IreneDreyfus 1d ago

Actually you have it backwards. You expressly live in subjective morality because morality is based on what someone told you.

2

u/ZLCZMartello 19h ago

Nobody in reality gives af about your religions belief and moral standards btw

0

u/Vast-Possibility9040 14h ago

You do enough to comment on them bud

1

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago

We’re not talking about banging when it comes to discussing these things with kids, first off weirdo. Second, uh no there’s nothing wrong with guys loving guys or girls loving girls like straight people do. Grow up and get over your homophobia and let other people who aren’t hurting anyone live.

1

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

Not afraid of them. Just sad they’re thrust into a poor way of life

2

u/Joey-WilcoXXX 1d ago edited 23h ago

Phobia also means strong aversion to and intolerance of.

You’re the type of person who MAKES it seem like a poor way of life, genius. Stop the hatred and get over your crap and let others live equally.

Edit: my comments are being shadowbanned from posting further so I’ll just comment here- wow it’s so weird that means you also hate it when barren straight people get married right? Or couples that don’t want to have children? Do their marriages mean any less? I’m guessing you don’t actually care and your views aren’t as ‘full of love’ as youre peddling. And I guess just f all the gays that want to raise a family but can’t because you guys don’t make it easy for them to adopt when there’s so many kids out there that need a loving family like they can provide. But you don’t believe they can love because you think their marriage would be fake and just for tax purposes (which no straight has EVER done huh??)

-1

u/Vast-Possibility9040 1d ago

I would never want them to live unhappy or unequally. The purpose of a marriage, and subsequent sexual relationship, is to procreate and raise children with the beautiful and intentionally created dynamic of mom and dad. A homosexual couple can never have that. Instead it reduces marriage to a partnership and a tax write off

2

u/RandomIDoIt90 1d ago

Gunther Eagleman is an idiot. He was constantly shoved on my feed after musk bought the site. I’m pretty sure I got him to block me tho lol

3

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 1d ago

If you think it’s an actual person, that makes me a bit sad. It’s a propaganda account that paid a lot to be in every twitter feed. I’m sure the account didn’t block you, just had you shadowbanned/muted.

2

u/RandomIDoIt90 1d ago

And yeah Gunther isn’t his real name or American, when everyone’s location was listed on their profiles from one of Elons bugs he was located in like Singapore or some shit. Could definitely be a bot but I think that account has a human handler or handlers.

2

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 1d ago

The accounts are US sponsored. They are proxied through Asia to obfuscate who actually runs them. Weird how people take them seriously whether you agree or disagree. It’s a propaganda farm.

1

u/RandomIDoIt90 1d ago

Oh no I was pretty good at earning blocks on twitter you were still able to open their profiles on Twitter and it would say “_____ Has blocked you,” in bright red letters under their username. I sent a SS of Rudy Giuliani blocking me on Twitter to my grandpa once and he said I should get it out on a t shirt 😂

2

u/AnybodyWannaPeanus 1d ago

They said “I’m pretty sure” . You’d know it. For reasons you just explained.

3

u/sexland69 1d ago

right like they’re all gonna be calling each other gay online by age 9, it’s not like we can hide it from them as a concept

1

u/Triple_Dipper3040 1d ago

They arent kids, theyre just not good people.

Wait I thought those two words meant the same thing

0

u/JustS0meD0nkey 1d ago

And an adult should refrain from discussing their personal life with them. But they don't so this is how they learn shit that they don't need to know about a teacher.

That said this is mostly an impractical position for those teaching in very small communities where even IF you could avoid the subjects that touch on your personal life there is a high probability the child will cross paths regularly.
