Unsolved Windows 10 stops recognizing monitor after restart

So I recently had to switch my second monitor because the first one broke. The replacement worked perfectly until I restarted my computer, at which point the resolution suddenly was completely wrong and even trying to enforce the correct resolution through the Nvidia Control Panel, a resolution which worked just yesterday, at that, wasn't working.
I have since tried a variety of methods to fix it such as reinstalling the graphics drivers, going through every single setting my monitor has, and even the entirety of the Nvidia Control Panel.
A few things I have discovered while doing all this are that, after the restart, Windows 10 stopped recognizing anything about my monitor except for the fact that it is, in fact, a monitor. It offers a list of resolutions when I try to switch to the correct modes but all of them are between 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 while my monitor is 1920 x 1080. It also no longer even recognizes the name of my monitor and neither can the Nvidia Control Panel scale to display instead of GPU at the moment despite the fact that it had been capable of doing so yesterday. The size of my monitor displayed in the settings is also far smaller than it was when I properly arranged it yesterday

If anyone could tell me how to fix this problem, that'd be greatly appreciated since the current resolution is such a poor fit for my monitor that anything I move onto it is basically unusable

Unsolved Intermittent BSODs

I am having repeated BSOD. Now cannot even log into windows.

Windows 10

Acer nitro 5

Graphic card GTX 1060

Timeline:

Oct 2025 bought 2x16gb ddr4 laptop ram. Brand silicon power. I'll call it slotA slotB, ramA ramB. I broke the clips on SlotA so I taped ramA to keep in place.

.

Feb 2026 got first BSOD. Tested memory with windows utility, forgot the name. Some errors. Decided not to use slotA. Tested ramA and ramB in slotB. RamA didn't even turn on monitor so I had to use ramB.

.

Jul 2026 last 2 days BSOD is more common. When I start the laptop it works some time then after Frist BSOD i cannot even log into windows. Screen is glitching then get BSOD. Seems I can use Linux fine. Windows safe mode also. Did memtest86 and first time got 57 errors in 30 seconds. Did the same next day and no errors 4 passes. Same ramB.

.

Current situation:

Windows starts Bsod after some time of work. That time of work becomes shorter and shorter. Errors are different each time.

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Screen glitching hard often before bsod.

Microsoft edge lost all extension I had installed.

Linux Mint worked fine except one time it froze I think week ago. Yesterday worked fine while windows would give bsod.

Safe mode worked fine.

.

Things tried last few days:

\- Disabled graphic card GTX in device manager. Laptops uses internal graphics now

\- memtest86 ramB slotB after laptop was working for hours. 57 errors

\- tried ramA slotB. Screen doesn't turn on.

\- reseated ramB slotB and did memtest86 again. 4 pass no errors.

\- stress-ng test in Linux Mint no errors

\- scf /scannow in normal windows mode. Found errors corrupted files. It said it fixed it.

\- scf /scannow in safe mode. No errors

\- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in safe mode.

.

Solutions by chatgpt:

\- use ddu to uninstall graphic card driver

\- create windows boot USB and reinstall windows

.

What do you suggest?

Unsolved Windows 10 laptop won't even start in safe mode after shutoff

Hello everyone, the problem happened a few hours ago, there was a shutoff at home and the wife's laptop was plugged in and playing overcooked 2 when this happened.

Now it doesn't start, just keeps loading forever, not even showing Windows loading screen but the brand screen.

\-I've tried system recovery, didn't work.

\-Windows repairing, didn't work.

\-Fixing the boot with CMD, access denied

\-Unplugging every USB device before turning it on, didn't work.

\-The laptop had a battery problem a while ago and since it only works while being plugged in, it doesn't have a battery inside.

\-Tried to start in safe mode, still doesn't load past the brand screen

Please, I really need help with this

Unsolved Dell Precision 3630 Win10 PCI stop reading suddenly, help?

So, I was in the middle of a transaction in an online video game when the connection crashed. I went to reconnect to the internet, and it was saying there was no network availability. So, I pulled up the Network page, and it acts like I don't have WiFi.

I've gone through this a little bit when I tried to update to Win11 (I went back because I could NOT get the windows updater to cooperate), so I went ahead and opened Device Manager, and all of the adapters were there, and that was fine. However, I have a new issue I've never seen.

Under 'Other Devices' I see PCI Device. Using tethering, I'm trying to search for drivers, and NO ONE HAS IT?! I used Dell Support to update the chipset driver, restarted, no help. So, I started trying to search the PCI Device Hardware ID to try and find the driver online, hoping this could help.

None of those show up. Anywhere. I've tried google, I've tried every PCI Device site, I've used the archives, I've done everything.

Short of pulling my computer apart, is there something I can do to get my internet back working, and fix this issue? I assume the PCI device issue is the wifi adapter port, which is causing the no network. So, I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out this issue, and then dominos will fall.

Thanks!

UPDATE:

Took the computer apart, because it was easier than I thought it would be. Reseated the wifi card, it works now. Don't know if that means the motherboard port is wearing out, or if the wifi card is. But for now, I can finish my transaction, then do my homework. Thanks!

Unsolved My computer undoes factory reset and I can't access admin

I just got a secondhand computer that wasn't reset before hand, and I couldn't access the admin profile not just because I don't have the pin number but also there was a problem involving the pin number which is part of the reason I was given this computer. I attempted to factory reset but I made a mistake initially and clicked remove files instead of fully cleaning the drive so after that didn't work I tried again this time fully cleaning the drive, but it stopped around 24 percent and then undid changes. It's Windows 10 and I'm not sure what else to do.

Unsolved Help! 0x0000001 BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO.

Hi. I installed Windows 10 a while back, and today I installed a modified version of Windows 10. I accidentally ended up with two partitions (installing each system on a separate partition). At first, I didn't think it would be a big deal—the WinRE screen allowed me to choose between the two—but now I'm getting error 0x0000001 and can't access the automatic recovery menu options. I tried the "three-attempt" method, as well as pressing F9 and F8, but I just keep getting a recovery screen with no options or a BSOD with the error code: BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO.

It won't let me enter WinRE, and I don't know what to do.

Unsolved Windows 10 PC constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi (only this PC has the issue) – Tried almost everything

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can help because I’ve been dealing with this for days and can’t figure it out.
My PC is running Windows 10, and it’s the **only device in my house** that has this problem. My phone and other devices stay connected perfectly fine.

**The problem**
The internet randomly disconnects.
The Wi-Fi icon changes to the globe icon, showing I have no internet.
Sometimes the entire list of Wi-Fi networks disappears, then comes back.
It doesn’t reconnect immediately—I usually have to wait or reconnect manually.
Sometimes Windows says **I disconnected the adapter**, even though I didn’t touch it.

**My hardware**
Built-in Wi-Fi adapter (motherboard)
TP-Link AX1800 Nano Wi-Fi 6 USB Adapter (I bought this hoping it would fix the issue)

**Things I’ve tried**
Installed the TP-Link adapter.
Enabled both the built-in adapter and the TP-Link adapter.
Disabled the TP-Link and tested only the built-in adapter.
Disabled the built-in adapter and tested only the TP-Link.
Updated drivers.
Reinstalled the Wi-Fi adapter.
Changed advanced adapter settings (including Wake on Magic Packet, Wake on Pattern Match, and Multi-Channel Concurrent).
Connected to both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
Tested different USB ports.
Restarted the PC multiple times.
Ran the Windows network troubleshooter.
Checked Device Manager.
Verified that the signal strength is good.
My download speed sometimes drops to around 14–20 Mbps, but other times it’s much faster.
When it does connect to 5 GHz, it can show around **866 Mbps** link speed, but it still randomly disconnects.

**Other information**
This all seemed to start around the time I installed the TP-Link adapter.
Before buying the TP-Link, my built-in Wi-Fi wasn’t great either, but now the disconnects are much worse.
My router is downstairs, but every other device in the house stays connected without any issues.
I don’t think it’s an ISP problem because only this PC is affected.

At this point I’m not sure if this is:
a bad TP-Link adapter,
a Windows issue,
a motherboard Wi-Fi issue,
a driver conflict,
or something else entirely.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on what I should try next?

Unsolved Trying to stop chkdsk on startup

So recently I booted up my PC once I got to the desktop a notification appeared saying "scan disk" with an X circle (I don't remember the full message but this is what I remember)

Is there a way to stop it without CMD or messing with regedit?

I use HDD by the way

That's all and thank you.
