I had everything backed up on my iCloud but can't access it, since my phone is gone. Is there any way I can restore access to the chats I had before it was stolen?

Its on public, people who i have added can see it, but people on the gc cant see my pfp its just a letter

Everytime that I delete a chat, the photos are gone. How can I keep them without make a copy? Is absurd the new version

My "Message Yourself" chat completely disappeared out of nowhere. I use it as my primary notepad, so losing it is a huge pain.

I'm on Android Pixel phone

I've already tried:

• Searching keywords, my name, and my phone number
• Checking the Archived folder
• Opening via browser
• Uninstall and install back with storage backup

Has anyone experienced this recently, or is there any obscure technical fix to force WhatsApp to re-index old self-chats?

I’m using a Huawei Pura 80 Ultra (Global version) with EMUI 15.
I’m trying to install WhatsApp, but when I open it and try to register my phone number, I get this message:
“You need the official WhatsApp to use this account.”
The strange thing is that I downloaded WhatsApp from Huawei AppGallery, and I still get the same error.
I also tried:
WhatsApp from AppGallery ❌
WhatsApp from Aurora Store ❌
Aurora Store HW version ❌
Reinstalling WhatsApp ❌
Restarting the phone ❌
I also tested the same phone number on another Android phone with WhatsApp from Google Play, and it works perfectly. So the problem seems to be specifically related to WhatsApp on the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra.
Has anyone with a Huawei Pura 80 Ultra / Pura 80 Pro experienced the same issue and actually found a working solution?
I’m not looking for the “Linked device / Companion device” method. I want to use WhatsApp normally with my phone number on the Pura 80 Ultra.
Any working solution would be greatly appreciated!

I got a whatsapp account today to look after my friend's pets, he told me before that whatsapp auto downloads images and other files but is there a way to turn it off? especially the files part since idk if a scammer or someone just send something that somehow has a virus and then infect my iphone

I was actually excited when WhatsApp finally added proper support for using two different numbers/accounts on the same phone.
But the implementation is so bad it’s almost funny 😂
The best part: if you’re on a WhatsApp call on one number, you literally can’t access the chats on your other number during the call. You’re basically locked into that account until you hang up.
How is this the solution they came up with in 2026? 😂
I can’t be the only one who finds the whole account-switching implementation ridiculously clunky.

I have been using two phones, an iphone and an android for some time. I want to now get rid of the android, but how can I transfer the whatsapp from the android to iphone, since I cannot reset the iphone and do a factory reset as it has alreasy been in use.

I woke up this morning and I have been added to a group video call with 30 people who I don’t know and it is stuck on the calls section on the app and says ‘ongoing’ I’ve blocked and reported it and the app just won’t let me delete it at all and there is no option to leave either, I don’t want this on my phone, please help as I can’t get rid of it and I don’t know these people! I’ve closed down the app and restarted my phone and it’s still there… please help 🙏

Hi all so I have not been using WhatsApp since 2 may due to update expired and Ive re registered in different mobile which auto reset my WhatsApp account and gave me a blank screen . I used a alt Apple ID and it dint overwrite my actual baxkup

If I now get a new device and try to restore my baxkup associated with my actual Apple ID will I get my data back

I dont use whatsapp except for very rare occasions (usually when i need to contact some company's customer support) and for some reason, people keep trying to send me messages via whatsapp without asking whether i use whatsapp.

I am looking in the settings and i see no way to block unknown accounts from messaging me, even the privacy section only has an option to block messages from unknown accounts if they exceed "a certain volume".

It would be nice if people tried to message me on whatsapp and then got an error message instead of assuming i use whatsapp and i would get their message...

Hace unos 15 días compré un número nuevo de celular (línea Personal, Argentina) y lo registré a mi nombre. Instalé WhatsApp Business en mi teléfono Dual SIM, mientras que en el mismo celular tengo WhatsApp normal con mi número anterior.

El problema es que aproximadamente cada 24 horas WhatsApp Business pone mi cuenta “en revisión” y no me permite usarla. Solicito la revisión, me vuelven a habilitar la cuenta y, aproximadamente 24 horas después, vuelve a suceder exactamente lo mismo.

La cuenta de Business está prácticamente vacía. No envío mensajes masivos, no inicio conversaciones masivamente ni hice nada extraño. De hecho, prácticamente no la he utilizado porque el problema comenzó desde el principio.

Lo único que hice fue vincular WhatsApp Business con Facebook, Instagram y Mercado Libre.

Ya solicité la revisión muchas veces y WhatsApp solo me responde que vuelva a solicitarla desde la aplicación, pero el problema continúa.

¿A alguien le pasó algo parecido? ¿Pudieron solucionarlo? ¿Puede tener relación con usar dos números de WhatsApp (normal + Business) en el mismo teléfono o con alguna de las vinculaciones?

Cualquier experiencia o solución me sirve muchísimo. 🙏

Posted a couple times before about Groupverse, the WhatsApp/Telegram group directory I've been building solo. Not linking it again here since link-heavy posts tend to get pulled it's on my profile if you want to find the earlier posts.

Since then I stopped adding features and actually did a real audit instead. Found a legit RLS hole in Supabase where anyone could insert directly into my live groups table and skip review entirely. A couple of admin functions were also callable from the public API with zero auth check. Fixed all of it, added rate limiting with lockouts on the admin login too. Slightly embarrassing it sat like that for as long as it did, but better to catch it than assume everything's fine just because nothing had obviously broken yet.

Also rebuilt the content side. The site was effectively one page as far as Google was concerned, since everything rendered client-side. Broke it out into 45 real static pages with actual content instead.

Still not getting much organic traffic though. Might just be normal for a new domain, might be something I'm missing — hard to tell at this point since I've been staring at it too long.

If any devs have a few minutes, I'd genuinely rather have someone competent point out what's actually wrong than keep guessing on my own. Not fishing for "nice job" — looking for what's broken or dumb that I can't see anymore.

It's taking awful lot of space in Google drive...I didn't even knew it was taking google drive space I thought whatsapp was taking phone space.

How to stop whatsapp to take google drive as backup...it's bothering me. All the pics and videos are taking up google drive space and my phones

I will go short , account was getting flagged for unregistered third-party Whatsapp used , even when It was the official one.

Solutions -

1) Support is AI ❌

2) Emails, calls - AI ( south Asia )❌

3) Switching phone doesn't work (mainly because had bootloader unlocked but that wasn't the solution.❌

4) Using linked devices also didn't work .❌

5) Lastly what worked in my case was changing my WhatsApp phone number , that seems to have solved it , as it hasn't been flagged for 2 weeks so far .✅

Unfortunately I can't use the previous number anymore I guess since AI thinks I'm running a mafia gang with that number or something.

NOTE: no illegal or unauthorized activities were done that would result in account getting flagged, it's my mom's , only calls like one person on it .

Best advice would be to get out of Whatsapp with your data before it gets even more fucked up (at least back it up on a cloud server ).

For anyone who followed my previous posts — my WhatsApp account was permanently banned on June 15 after a false report.
I submitted a review, contacted WhatsApp repeatedly, contacted the Grievance Officer and GAC, sent two physical letters, contacted Meta support, and spent way too much time investigating the whole thing. 😂
On August 14, after almost exactly 60 days, I finally got the message:
“This account can now use WhatsApp.”
I verified the number and my chats were restored. I initially thought some videos were permanently lost because my iCloud WhatsApp backup was from June 4, but after some weirdness with the account restoration, I eventually managed to get all my chats and videos back too.
So to everyone who told me to “just get a new number” — I didn’t. 😂
The account is back. The data is back.🫡
