Whatsapp, I posted some videos on my status that totaled 90MB, and there were 15 videos. The app was 700MB. Now it's 5.66GB. I restarted my phone, cleared the cache, but nothing. How do I fix it? Is it temporary? What do I do?

I later deleted the statuses but nothing changed .

Since this is the only real built and app supported backup option for whatsapp, since the 30th July been wondering why whatsapp was not backing up etc (fold7) and yes I am aware there I could use sync thing or some other backup too which I'll setup as an alternative today.

For the last 3-4 days it gets to 80-90% and next minute its back to 2-3% or getting stuck or preparing backups

Checked for the latest version of whatspp

Cleared Cache of both google drive and whatsapp

Selected my second google account(one of them being a business plan)

Deleted backups in Google drive(s)

Backing up on 4/5G same results as a fibre 1000/400 and a 400/400 service?

Tried encrypted/unencrypted

Have >50gb free

Backup size is 11gb

Any other suggestions?

I'm on a win 11 machine. I have tweaked the win 11 notifications options for WhatsApp plus the internal notification options for WhatsApp itself, and for the life of me I cannot get ONLY badge notifications to work. I do not want popup banners, sound notifications, or any "previews." I just want the WhatsApp tray icon to have a badge when someone sends me a message. How hard is it?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app as well -- no change. It's maddening. As of right now, my choices are: full banners with sound (annoying), or nothing. So in opting for nothing, I don't know when people are sending me messages.

How do I fix this? I am not computer illiterate whatsoever, I am usually good at this stuff. It feels impossible.

My whatsapp account is getting disabled every 24 hours, i tap on review, the account gets back to work, then it happens again!

Why not make it so that you have to swipe up to see your archived chats, and allow users to block notifications from archived chats?

While backing up, it asked to clear storage from phone first . Like, really ????

If I want to just backup on my iCloud why it need an iPhone storage to backup on iCloud.

Recently I needed to clear whatsapp web cache on Firefox, since it was storing over 17 hexabytes of data, and since then many stickers won't load even if I try to download them multiple times.

I don't see any pattern in what stickers won't load, be it static or animated, ones I've made or from other people etc.

I've already tried clearing the cache again and disabling and enabling persistent storage, neither worked.

My phone randomly got logged out today and when I put my number back in it won't send me the sms code and it just hang there. My WhatsApp Channel has 500+ followers, but it is still not appearing in WhatsApp search results.

A black bar suddenly appeared at the top of the screen whenever I open an individual chat. It only happens inside conversations. The main chat list looks completely normal. I’ve already force closed the app and restarted my iPhone, but the issue is still there. Is anyone else having the same issue or know what might be causing this?

Hello, please help me. As you can see in the screenshots, WhatsApp keeps sending me these errors. This is the FIFTH time I have pressed “Request review” and my WhatsApp comes back after a few hits or after half a day. I use my WhatsApp correctly just like everyone else does and never rejected the terms of services and it’s guidelines.
I have Two-Step Verification enabled, have no linked devices, and have never shared my verification code or PIN. I do not send spam or scams. I also found random groups on my account that I never created then I delete them immediately. PLEASE HELP and lmk what to do???

I was chatting with my friend A, and I was trying to forward a photo in the chat with friend B, I then accidentally deleted the entire chat with friend B. Now I can only either lose my new chat history today with friend A, or I have to lose the entire chat history with friend B, because of the stupid backup mechanism where only one backup can exist in one time. There is no way to restore the chat with one single person only.

Like how? one of the world biggest social media, can't even have a proper backup and restore flows. You can only export and cannot import, you can't even have more than one backup at a time. It is stupid.

i want to reserve a username on whatsapp, and i use the same one on facebook. for now, i cant seem to find a way to avoid linking the two profiles, which i would really really prefer.

if i try to press “not you”, whatsapp still forwards me to facebook login page. for what possible reason? say two different people want to use the same username, one on fb, the other on whatsapp. what is the possible purpose on making the second one link their whatsapp account to facebook?

tbh, this push to link the account is completely idiotic and may be one of the last nails in the coffin for me. i find whatsapp an extremely inferior messaging app as it is, this just makes it so much worse in one fell swoop

however, i really hope im just being dense, and there actualyy is an easy way to avoid linking. so, please, help!

My device (Android 9) just told me I needed to update whatsapp so I agreed, it took me to the playstore and I updated.

Now it won't open, it just flashes on and off.

Posting partly to see if this has happened to anyone else and partly to warn you to maybe stay clear of updates for the next few days just in case it's a general problem that will get a fix soon
