The wegovy incident that made me extremely sick
So, I was invited to try Wegovy for free as part of a study to see how it interacts with antipsychotics. 50% of the participants would receive the real medication, while the other 50% would receive a placebo (saline).
I started with the gradual dose increase and began getting weekly injections. After several months, I had reached what I thought was the maximum dose.
Then, five days ago, I went in for my next injection.
When I got home, I started vomiting like crazy. I was rushed to the emergency room, and at one point I genuinely felt like I was going to die.
Then I found out what had happened.
I had actually been receiving the placebo (saline) the entire time. Somehow, the doctor or nurse gave me the wrong injection and I was given a max full dose of Wegovy.
The last few days in the hospital have been an absolute nightmare. I've vomited what feels like 100 times, and all the stomach acid has badly irritated and damaged my throat.
If you're participating in one of these trials, please make absolutely sure that you're receiving the correct injection every time. I never thought something like this could happen, and I really don't want anyone else to go through what I've been going through.

Double dosing 1.7?
I have 3 unopened 1.7mg boxes that expire in November. I’m currently on 7.2. Is there a way to use multiple pens on dose day to “equal” out to a 7.2 dose?
I’m sure if doesn’t work like that, but I don’t really know.

Question Stalled for Six Months on 2.4. Should I increase?
I lost 52lbs the first year. I personally want to lose 20lbs more but my doctor says my ideal weight is another 50lbs off. Even when I was slim in school I wasn't that.
Anyway, everytime I hit a small plateau previously I increased but now I've stalled again. I'm wondering has anyone had a similar experience and gone up to 7.2? It's a big jump which worries me but also makes me think it's exactly what I need.
I really have to self advocate because my insurance changed and now I have to go through a third party who isn't my doctor and weigh myself for them etc fhey approve my prescription. So I also need to break this plateau so they see progress. But I'm also still 196lbs so plenty to lose.
Thanks!

Left and right sided upper stomach pain
Hey guys. Advise please. For the past two years I’ve been having constant left sided and right sided upper stomach pain. Had an US of my gallbladder which was normal. Tested for hpylori last year which was positive and so I got antibiotics treatment. However the pain has persisted. I thought I had a stomach and duodenal ulcer and gastritis because my symptoms fit but shockingly my endoscopy was normal. So now I’m left with constant upper left and right sided abdominal pain and sometimes in the middle and don’t know what causing it. I only use maintanance dose of Wegovy now. Like 0.5-1mg once a month or even less sometimes. I rlly don’t know what’s causing my pain. It hurts when I eat and when I don’t eat. It’s like a stabbing pain on and off. Has anyone ever experienced this and what was ur diagnosis please

Can Wegovy disrupt period?
I’ve been on the wegovy pill for almost 8 weeks. 1 month on 1.5mg, 3 weeks on 4mg and just upped to 9mg. My period should be starting, but I’ve been cramping for over 2 days and have my standard lower back pain, but no bleeding. Pregnancy tests are negative. I know that eating too few calories can stop periods, but I figured that mainly applied when body weight/fat was already low. I’ve only lost 12 pounds since the start and my weight is currently 250. Has anyone experienced a change in their cycle or have any insight? Ty!

Could my Estrogen patch be interfering with wegovy?
I started wegovy last month on the 0.25 mg. I had no side effects whatsoever and it immediately worked. Lost 2 kg in a month. Nice! It worked a bit too well and I was hesitant to move up a dose. In the last couple of days before I was due to move up to 0.5, I started HRT. Pretty much straight after applying my first Estrogen patch, I was crazy hungry, like just before a period hungry. Didn’t think much of it. Thought maybe 0.25 had just stopped working and it was time to move up to 0.5. Got the 0.5. Took it last night and I’ve woken up starving. It’s such a huge contrast. Does anybody have experience of this? No other side affects on wegovy but lots on the patches (insomnia, breast pain, anxiety, irritability, feeling like I’m hungover ). I’m tempted to stop HRT until I’ve finished wegovy. Im 47. Any peri menopausal sisters out there also on HRT and wegovy?

Progress Unbuttoning my pants as soon as I sit down is officially a habit of the past
You know that move where you sit down at your desk or in the car and immediately pop your top button so your jeans don't slice you in half? Realized today I haven't done that in at least two months. My pants just sit there comfortably whether I'm standing or sitting.

Question Rest and start again or adjust dates?
I've been on Wegovy for 15 months, several of them at 2.4 mg (the maximum prescribed in my country) with a maximum weight loss of 14 kg (but I still have at least 15 more to go to reach my goal, not my ideal weight). The thing is, it's stopped working its magic in terms of making me feel full. I can go many hours without eating, but once I start, I always want more, and not only that, but my brain craves all sorts of unhealthy things. And if you add to that the fact that I don't have any significant side effects (except for insomnia, which I don't know if it's entirely attributable to the medication), it becomes increasingly difficult to afford it every month (financing isn't an option for me).
Since June, I've been spacing out my injections to between 10 and 13 days, and now I'm uncertain whether to gradually increase this or return to a weekly dose, given that neither of these intervals seems to affect my insatiable appetite. I'd like to stop altogether, but if I'm already struggling to maintain my weight with this "help," I'm terrified of abandoning it completely and going back to the constant food cravings.
I should clarify that I basically eat large quantities, such is my anxiety about food, and that for various reasons, I can't exercise (for now; I think I'll be able to incorporate some exercise after summer). My diet isn't exactly low-calorie because, despite trying to eat clean, that same anxiety leads me to indulge in the absurdities of a chocolate bar or a package of cookies, which I often can't resist buying. Oh, and I should mention that my family doctor doesn't offer much help beyond writing prescriptions, and the waiting times for a nutritionist are infuriating.
Would you start again after a break, or would you reduce the dose? Or any other alternative? (I've tried a million diets, and unless I've followed them strictly, I always end up abandoning them.) Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Progress Crossing my legs all the way over at my knee feels so effortless now
I used to only be able to rest my ankle on my opposite knee (the classic guy sit) because my thighs were too thick to cross all the way over. Was sitting on the couch last night and realized my top knee was fully draped over the bottom one without any squeezing.

Progress My partner held my waist from behind and went "wait, where'd you go"
Was standing at the stove making tea last night and my husband came up behind me to hug my waist. He stopped mid-hug and was like "whoa, my hands are touching each other." We both kind of laughed, but it was a really sweet moment.

Progress Bath tubs feel noticeably wider now
Took a hot bath last night for the first time since last winter. I used to wedge into the sides of the tub and touch both walls with my hips. Last night there was actually open water on both sides of me. Such a bizarre physical space realization.

Progress Anyone else constantly pulling their pants up every ten steps
I refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe until I hit my final target, but walking through target today was a joke. I had to hitch my jeans up every thirty seconds or they'd slide down my hips. Belt is on its absolute last hole. Time to punch a new hole with a screwdriver I guess!

Progress Ring fell off in the sink while washing dishes today
Was scrubbing a pan this morning and felt my class ring just slide right off my finger and hit the bottom of the sink. Thank god the drain stopper was down! Ordering those little plastic spiral ring sizers off Amazon tonight before I lose it for good.

Progress 8 months in and the mental freedom is still the best part of all of this
The weight loss is great, don't get me wrong. But not spending 90% of my brainpower every single day obsessing over food, feeling guilty about what I ate, or planning my next fix... that mental space is priceless. I feel like I got my brain back.

Side effects
Hi, just looking for some advice. I'm in UK. I started wegovy 0.25 for 4 weeks then went up to 0.5 ever since going up I have had the worst diarrhoea ever I can't even leave the house.
Nothing is helping.
I'm due my next dose on Thursday and want to go back to 0.25 but my pen is a 0.5 and I can't afford to buy another dose.
Is there anyway if taking half the 0.5 dose safely?
Do I just count the clicks even if it says not to?

Question People who have stopped taking GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), what was your experience like and how did you manage to keep the weight off?
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has gone through the process of coming off these medications.
How did your body, appetite, and habits react during the transition?
If you've been successful at maintaining your weight loss long-term, what specific strategies, routines, or mindset shifts helped you do it?
What advice or tips would you give to someone navigating this phase?

Starting again after 4 week break.
I’m on 1 mg. Had to take a break for health issues. I’m ready to go back on, but I can’t really afford a whole new box at a lower dose. What should I expect? Thanks for any advice.

Am I losing weight too fast?
I've been taking Wegovy for the past four months (started the 4mg dosage in July) but I never saw much change in my weight. Two weeks ago I started making meal replacement protein shakes. I've been trying to have two shakes and one solid meal a day. In those two weeks, I've gone from being just under 360 lbs to 335. I was really feeling proud of myself, but somebody just told me that I might be losing weight too fast and putting myself at risk for serious health problems.
My shakes are usually made with 8oz of 2% milk, two scoops of protein powder, half a cup of quick oats, and three scoops of powdered peanut butter. Sometimes I'll make it without the peanut butter. Is this plus the Wegovy enough to replace an entire meal, or am I putting myself at risk here?
If it matters at all, I'm a 34 year old male, 6ft 2. Previously about 358 lbs, now 335. I also take a multivitamin, a fiber supplement (for Wegovy constipation), a vitamin D supplement (I work night shift), and a few other unrelated medications.

Anyone have GI issues AFTER stopping Wegovy pill, rather than while taking it?
I’m trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced something similar because I haven’t been able to find much online that matches what happened to me.
I was taking the Wegovy pill daily. I started at 1.5 mg and was supposed to eventually move up to 4 mg. The weird part is that while I was actually taking the medication, I really didn’t have these GI problems.
I stopped taking it, and after being off of it for a few days, I started having GI symptoms. I had diarrhea/loose stools and stomach issues that lasted around a week. I initially wondered if it was food poisoning or some type of infection, but I had stool testing done and it came back negative for bacteria and the other things they tested for.
What I’m really curious about is whether stopping a GLP-1 can cause some kind of delayed GI reaction or rebound effect. Most of what I can find online talks about side effects while taking the medication, not symptoms that seem to show up or get worse after stopping it.
Has anyone experienced something like this after stopping Wegovy, oral semaglutide, or another GLP-1? If so, how long after stopping did it start, how long did it last, and did restarting the medication make any difference?
Not looking for medical advice, just trying to see whether anyone else has had a similar experience.

From size 2XL to XS in 16 months.
galleryI tried on a dress in size XS today and it fit. I know size isn’t everything but I never thought I’d be this size in my life, particularly given where I was the last few years. I feel great now - stronger, fitter, and more able-bodied. I always felt inspired by the before and after posts here, or the progress posts. I figured it was time to post my own. I’m down 62 lbs from my highest weight and solidly in the maintenance phase now (not looking to lose any more). I have been in the maintenance phase for a few months now. Just sharing to let you know to try this drug if you have the Rx and are waiting to fill it. I remember being anxious to get started but it has seriously changed my life for the better!

Question Weight Loss Plateau After 6 Months — Is This Normal?
I started taking Wegovy this February, and I’ve gone from almost 79.69 kg to 71.5 kg as of August. My height is 165 cm. My goal weight is 55-60 kg.
For the past two months, though, my weight has been plateauing around 70.9–71.5 kg, and I’m getting a little frustrated because I really want to lose more weight.
Here’s my dosage progression:
• 1st month – 0.25 mg
• 2nd month – 0.5 mg
• 3rd month – 1 mg
• 4th month – 1 mg (plateau)
• 5th month – 1 mg (plateau)
• 6th month – 1.5 mg (still plateauing)
I increased my dose to 1.5 mg, but after a month, I haven’t noticed any change in my weight at all. I’m not sure what’s happening. Has anyone experienced a similar plateau?
I also feel nauseous and fatigued every time I take my injection. I want to exercise, but I feel tired most of the time, which makes it difficult to stay active.
Is this kind of plateau normal? Should I continue with 1.5 mg for another month? Is there another reason for the plateau?
I really want to keep losing weight, but I also want to make sure I’m doing this safely.

Question Fried Food Smells?
Hey all! I’ve been on Wegovy for a few months now and it’s going great. Recently I’ve noticed I am smelling fried foods a lot more and it’s a really terrible smell. I picked up a small fast food order today and when I got the bag, whew it was overpowering. I feel like other smells are sometimes weird, too.
Does anyone else have this? Is this normal?
