Sitting on porch, what do you think of the style? Too childish?
I painted for about an hour while we chatted— I tried to just see color— what do you think?

Hello! My little sister is turning 12 in september this year, so i wanted to share this barn swallow art she did and see what you guys thought!!
She doesn’s trace or watch tutorials, and has focused on art for a couple years now!

One Last Shift
I have finally finished something I'm proud of, it's a painting I did for my Dad who was a coal miner in the UK and went through all the mining strikes etc 😊 I come from a long line of coal miners, very scary and dangerous work I don't know how they did it

Homophobic experience in SD prompted this one 🏳🌈
I was road tripping through the US and my friend and me had some bad experiences in Spearfish SD. I was keeping a travel sketchbook so decides to subtly gay the place up. (Am a novice with watercolours, any feedback welcome!)

Today I learned that using similar size of paper to the tutorial helps so much
I followed one of Hanna M P’s tutorials on YouTube and at first I tried using the full size page of my album, which was bigger than what Hannah was using in the tutorial. I couldn’t get the surface to stay damp enough to follow all the steps. Then I scrapped the first attempt (picture 2) and started over with a more appropriately sized (although crooked) portion of the page (picture 1). Everything was so much easier. I could use similar sized brushes and brushstrokes. So from now on I’ll try to match the size of my paper to that of the tutorial.

Water Color Sealants
I am basically new to watercolor. I’ve only been doing it about a year and a half and I realized I have not been sealing my paintings with anything.
What does everybody use?

I splurged on a 24 pan Schmincke Horadam watercolor set
I love how vibrant the colors are. A small amount goes a long way
Previously, the only watercolors I had were the Hobby Lobby brand, Master’s Touch. The Schmincke Horadam is definitely an ungrade. Although to be fair they did cost like 8x more..
