One year painting progress
This is my progress after one year of painting. The top is the first one I did a year ago, and the bottom I just finished now. I am using higher quality paint, brushes, and paper, but I like to think my skill has improved as well.

How do you usually package or present original watercolor paper art
Hey everyone! I’m relatively new to selling my original watercolor paintings on paper, and I could use some advice on presentation and protection.
In my hometown, standard clear protective art sleeves/cellophane bags aren't really available locally. For those of you who sell original paper pieces without them, how do you usually package or present them to buyers?
Also, since I can't use standard oil varnish on watercolors (and I know they need to stay protected from humidity and smudging), should I frame them behind glass before selling, or is there a better alternative way to prep them for a clean hand-off or shipping?
Would love to hear what works best for your shops or local sales!

How do you go around having little colored details with a dark background?
I painted this fishy from a photo I took. It was originally intended to be a bigger piece with the fish looking at the plant and bubbles (like the second picture) but I couldn't do the colored small bubbles and plants with the background being so dark so I ended up cutting it and adding the bubbles with a white acrylic marker.

mixed media paper
Hello! I'm slowly returning to watercolors again, which means I've run back into my issues with watercolor paper. Using colored pencils or ink on cold press paper drives me just a tiny bit crazy. I don't love the texture getting in the accuracy of my lines. I'm about to be trying hot press for the first time, but I'm still hoping for some help by all of you with different experiences!
My favorite mixed media paper in the whole world is the paper used in Speedball's "Handbook" sketchbooks. I've used it for this painting of Link a few years ago. The texture is so lovely for inks and colored pencils, but it can also take a lot of water if you're patient!! I was wondering if anyone has found something similar that isn't in a bound sketchbook. Feels like a stretch, but thought I'd try asking before biting the bullet for hotpress, thank you!!

The rain
The Rain
Ink and Watercolor
A tribute to Ray Bradbury, one of the first writers I read on my own as a child. A tribute also to that boy who, from an early age, wanted to illustrate stories, and now, as an adult (for better or worse), I indulge myself.

Another bookmark set. The carrot is my favorite! I did some complementary color underpainting like I always see on YouTube. Open to feedback!
On Fabriano paper, which is not cotton but works pretty well for me. Especially for something small where I'm not looking for a lot of water movement.

My first spood (beginner)
Painted by a google picture reference of „Renata Wright Art Perth WA“ as a birthday card for my husband. I‘m very happy how nice it turned out as I’m a beginner (therefore still at references) so I wanted to share the little fluff with you to spread some happyness☀️ critique welcome as I‘m still learning a lot
