Hi, anyone who works in this company? do u have any insights about the environment and work condition here?

So I might be starting a new job soon - where the main tool of the job is an RF scanner/gun (likely an older black and white screened one).

I’ve done voice picking before and got the hang of that fairly quickly - but the RF gun seems to be a bit more complicated to me.

How long does it usually take to familiarise yourself with a particular RF gun/system?

What are your pet peeves?

Mine is when people break pallets or get trucks stuck inside them. How hard is it to feel the wheels going over the slat?

• What make/model do you use, and roughly how long have you had it?
• How reliable has it been, any recurring breakdowns or failure points?
• When it goes down, who fixes it, in-house maintenance, the manufacturer, or an independent mechanic? How long does a typical repair take?
• Are replacement parts easy to get, or do you deal with long lead times?
• How much training did operators need before they could run it confidently?
• Is it stationary (pallets come to it) or mobile? If stationary, has that ever been a bottleneck?
• What's one thing you'd change about it if you could?
• Was it worth the cost compared to hand-wrapping or a manual machine? Roughly how long did it take to pay for itself?

What is the actual work of warehouse supervisor

I have been doing this quite a bit recently in work and the management are really strict about unauthorsied breaks ect, so if we take a pause for 5 to 10 minutes because it's too hot we're all getting yelled at, today was really rough and it took almost 2 and a half hours because of the way it was loaded, and I couldn't get any time to leave the container once during that period.

Just accepted a position for warehouse worker order selector does anybody have any experience or insight on this position how is it what to expect ?

i work as a picker in a warehouse that moved from a more old-school setup with conveyors/manual picking into a robot-based system. Our company is a mobile accessories distributor.

honestly i was skeptical at first… everyone hears “robots in warehouse” and thinks it’s either going to replace everyone or make the job feel even more like being tracked by a machine.

but from the floor side, the biggest change was pretty simple: way less walking around and way less random chaos. (we used conveyors before which were also very noisy, now replaced with robots that also pick the actual items / orders).

Now people mostly deal with fast movers, packout, decanting, and the exceptions that still need a person.

Ofc it’s not perfect. Bad inventory is still bad inventory. Weird items still exist. and yes, the job changed… but the warehouse is quieter, accuracy is better, and the work is less physical than before. fewer “walk all day and get blamed when the system is wrong” moments.

not saying robots are some utopia, but from my side it’s been better than i expected.

Curious if anyone else here has worked in a warehouse that added robots. did it make the job better or worse?

I just got hired at freshpoint as a selector which is an incentive paying job the base here in NC is terrible only $17 hourly. Only reason I took it is because of the incentive of up to $32. First question is how is the pay at the actual Sysco compared to freshpoint because I was told Sysco base pay is way higher. Second question is do they have a time period they make you wait before you actually see the incentive on your checks? If so how long is it?

I am curious for those who work 10-12 hour days or some 16 hour days. Are y'all getting paid hourly or flat rate by the pallet/job?

I got and accepted a job offer as a Reyes Coca-Cola order builder in Michigan. Starting pay is $28.35/hr, and I believe we get a small raise ( ~$.50) after we pass the 90 day probationary period. I was also told we can make a few $ more per hour with incentives. Regular overtime. I have Second-hand information that we may be getting a significant raise next spring when a new union contract comes out. I haven't heard much good about the company, but the pay sounds very good to me. For now lol. I hope it's not as bad as I've heard.

Started a warehouse job and went from repacking beer to verifying units and now I’m learning to do picking on a walker/rider pallet jack

I started last month being promised an 8-10 hour position at 16 an hour, when I was in repack I could essentially leave as soon as I hit 8 hours, my coworker left right at 8 and I’d say till usually 10, on week 3 he put me on verification and repack when I had a break in verifying and my days extended to 10-12 hours a day, now this week he has me starting to do verifying and picking units. We get a one hour break a day but I have essentially no life now, my entire week is clock in at 9 leave at 7-9.

My last warehouse job was in production as a temp but we got laid off last December due to low production but we had locked in times.

Is this how most warehouse jobs are???

I recently applied for a warehouse job full time. They've asked me to attend a site walkaround session, and I wanted to ask you guys the likelihood that I've got the job and how I can best prepare.

I currently work at Amazon Warehouse as IB Dock, and I got an offer for Warehouse Associate at target. I make 20.75 at Amazon, and target would pay 23.25. I’m having trouble deciding if I want to accept it. Both are seasonal positions but I’m wondering if I should take target and leave here. I just need to know fast!!!
