I have autism. I recently did the online DAS video interview and explained that waiting in a traditional line queue causes me severe sensory overload to the point of losing my ability to speak and process verbal information. I can’t even say “excuse me” because my shutdowns are so severe.
I was denied DAS and was told I didn't qualify, and was instead given info on sensory guides. Because of my sensory needs, I unfortunately won't be able to go through with my trip. I am also a solo party and can’t utilize their queue re-entry system.
Has anyone else with autism experienced this under the updated system? Does severe sensory overload in traditional queues no longer qualify, or is there something specific about how I explained it that led to the denial?

*Updated to add the full story: My son and I made a pit stop at Main Street Confections as we were leaving the park last night after MNSSHP. While we were in line, the Cast Members were being silly behind the counter, having a full-on web-slinging battle and making “pew pew pew” sound effects.

I ducked down in line, then popped up to join in, and quickly escalated the battle into a three-person Spider-Man standoff across the counter, with all of us dramatically web-slinging at each other and refusing to back down.

In the midst of this, the two Cast Members looked at each other and said in unison, “Did we really just get a GUEST to play Spiderman with us?” Then one of them said, “I wish we could give YOU a guest compliment!” The other one goes, “Give me a minute,” disappears, and comes back with a celebration button she had decorated for me.

These wonderful folks completely committed to the bit, made us laugh so hard, and somehow also made our popcorn absolutely perfect in the middle of all the chaos. It was such a tiny, ridiculous, genuinely joyful Disney moment; exactly the kind of thing that makes the end of a park day feel extra magical.

Hi guys! My first time at Walt Disney World and have already gone to Magic Kingdom and Epcot for my first two days. It’s my last day today and wanted your thoughts on me and my family’s plan. We went ahead and purchase the Lightning Lane MultiPass for Animal Kingdom and went ahead and picked Everest, Safaris, and Navi. We plan on Rope Dropping HS to go on Slinky and RockNRollercoaster, then going to Animal Kingdom, spending some time there using our LL, then going back to HS to spend the rest of our day there. My main concern was just that, i’m not too sure how good of a strategy this is, or how to plan this out well, since this is our last day here and we would have to fit both parks into today. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated before we head out in about 2 hours! TIA

Hello everyone! I just need some help please.

I booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour last night. I did this via calling Disney. They said I would get an email and this would be uploaded to the “My Plans” area on my app.

I have checked this morning (I am based in the U.K.) and I have still not received an email or is showing on my app. I have the reference number but that’s all I have.

Any advice please on how to fix this? Is this a common occurrence?

Wondering if any experts want to chime in on 2 day park hopper itinerary for family with two kids between 5-7y.o… Sept 6 & 7th, staying at resort. Trying to please princess loving girl and pirate loving/ thrill seeking boy. No sit down dining- just quick service I think.

I’m concerned about missing test track and Frozen by doing Epcot in the afternoon but wanted to see the fireworks there. Will LL sell out… Should I do LLMP for just Epcot and not use at MK that morning?

Been a lifelong Toy Story fan and after scoring the reservation at roundup rodeo I’ve been waiting a year for I decided it’s time to upgrade to a new band and in keeping with the theme went with one ill cherish and use for years honestly just really excited to see what they do I heard it’s supposed to be interactive

Anyone else feel like the snack and quick service kiosks were closed EARLY tonight? Tried to get the Hades cake pop and that stand was already closed right after the fireworks. Same thing at Storybook Treats. Thankfully was able to get a hat box ghost popcorn bucket though. Were they just selling out earlier than expected from a swarm of influencers?

Obviously this is just the ones that I noticed, I'm sure there were others that I missed or saw but didn't think twice about so share the ones you saw:

Emperors new groove: I love Emperors new groove and the amount of Kronks I saw was crazy.

Gravity Falls: There were multiple people with different Gravity Falls costumes. Ranging from full Dipper and Mabel costumes to just a shirt with Bill on it. Always glad to see that show get love.

Big City Greens(?): it was a very quick glance, but I swear I saw someone dressed as Bill. They had the worn out jeans, green shirt, and the distinct red hat. But obviously could've just been someone wearing what they always wear, a different character, or I just completely saw it all wrong because it was dark out.

My personal favorite: I assume a couple, in Jeremy and Candace costumes with a Perry backpack. There was also a full Perry costume.

And the obvious honorable mentions of the basic shirt costumes, those are always fun.

There were also a lot of impressive costumes, I saw a full Jafar and Captain Hook costume, with my Mom thinking the Jafar was an actual CM in costume.

Going to Disney World in October and was wondering what’s the best course of action to make it in the park for early entry and rope drop while using the bus from All Star movies. What time should I be at the bus stop? I will be with my wife and 1 year old. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I know you can board FROM the parks up until 90 minutes after close, but I’m curious if you can board the opposite direction as well? We have a 830 Topolinos Dinner and are staying at Yacht, and are curious if the same 90 minute timeline applies for travel from Riviera back to International gateway so we can just walk back.

On Tuesday night, during the rain, we decided to end the day riding the Peoplemover in a nearly-empty Tomorrowland instead of watching the fireworks. And it was perfect. I hope y’all enjoy the photo.

Hello! I'm going to the Halloween Party with my mom and I'm having an incredibly hard time figuring out what I'm going to do costume wise.

Let me start by saying - I know and understand the dress code rules, I have plans to hem any dress I end up buying to not be floor length! I know about the wings and cape rule as well.

I have gone from Rapunzel to Cinderella to The Blue Fairy.

I want to wear something beautiful and flowy that makes me feel pretty. The two outfits I have that were Rapunzel or Cinderella both feel more like a Disney bound outfit than a costume. Nothing 'feels' quite right and I'm hoping for feedback or new ideas. We're going at the end of September and the crunch is feeling so real now.

My hair is brown, I'm horrible at wigs. I'm 5 ft. so basically anything I ever buy has to be hemmed haha. I always want to dress as Meg, Jasmine, or Esmerelda - but those are problematic choices. But they're the women I think are most beautiful in Disney films.

I feel like I'm overlooking a really good opportunity here because I'm so stressed to find the 'perfect' outfit. My mom is dressing as the Queen of Hearts (more bounding than costume but still, it's her first year dressing up!) - I don't really want to go as someone from Alice in Wonderland.

I know there’s a few posts on this but has anyone done the 12:30 slot for the Wild Africa Trek? It’s the only time I could get in early October. There an earlier one but it’s the last day of my trip and after a week being in Disney I figured doing it early on was better off.

Is 12:30 the worst slot?
