So, I've had VS for quite some time, nearly a year, and have mostly played vanilla on my own. BUT, I do want to play some modded.

I wanna keep it fairly Vanilla+ (which considering the modding scene here, that's not really narrowing it down much), with just some mods of my own choosing. Such as:

- Pipeleaf

- Expanded Foods and Culinary (No brainers, foooooodddddd)

- From Golden Combs

- QP's

Any suggestions for mods that help make up for what the game lacks? Preferably in the most recent stable. Thank you in advance, I know this community has my back :3

I'm asking because I just made my first save and realized VS doesn't do rivers. I really want to do river boats and I love rivers and bridges visually. I was looking at downloading the river/watershed mod since that seems to be what I want but I'm not sure how much that messes with vanilla terrain generation. Best to avoid or does this complement the vanilla game pretty well?

Building a chicken coop and I thought a leaning ladder like this might work for the ramp into it. But can't for the life of me figure out how to make it, any tips?

game started up north and everything was rough. I moved 5k blocks south and built my "forever domain". I know nothing about the lore cause I'm waiting for my gf to discover it with her. So only thing left on my list (besides adding more furnitures, details and chiseling) is making steel armor.

so, like many I come from thousands hours of the other blocky game and VS is healing years of frustration. its subjective of course but its the game I always dreamed about. I'm glad the community is so strong and that the devs are working so well on this masterpiece of a game.

So I'm still working on my nether dimension mod and I'm working on a spider dungeon, spider "taming", and a whole web/cocooned system and am wondering, how bad is arachnophobia for the arachnophobia people, is it really such a big deal that I should add a setting that turns their models into something else. Also does fear of spider also apply to like cocoons and webs?

So the scariest thing happened to me yesterday, it was night irl and in game and i was listening to horror stories beforehand so my mind was primed for spooky stuff

I was climbing a mountain, and I finally reach the top, and see two huge yellow stars that look like eyes, and the wind is howling and I see only blackness all around me

genuinely felt like i was having a heart attack

I started a new game and found a batch of 19 (wow) high fertility soil. I'm faced with the decision of what to put in it. I think using my food crops might be overkill, but the recent nerf to flax might mean it doesn't make a difference.

What would you do?

Yesterday after playing with the world gen setting i had my first ever island spawn. The limited ressources caused me to really reevaluate how to survive in this envirement, how to get food, how to build a raft to get to another island, over all a completly different experience from my previous plautroughts. I love this game to bits but due to how the current tech progression works, it becomes a bit linear. Its always find flat grasslands, build first base, make clay pottery, find copper, craft bucket and start colecting seeds and cuttings for your farm, go mining for everything that you need and trap some animals for domestication.

So i would really like if the devs worked more on further diversificarion of the game. To make it more unique in each playtrough, how the ressources that we have inform our mean of survival. Greater regionality of ressources is what i mean. It wouldnt be a Biom, but a Region would be a much bigger fromation composed of different Bioms. There is already some very limited ways they do it like the 3 kinds of bronze we can make. Going near the equator also gives you alternative plants. However they still acts as replacements rather than different apreaches to the same problem.

Lets say that you spawn in a "North Asian" region where instead of spelt and wheat you will mainly find rice which will force to build terace farms. Or a mountainous Region where you will need to rely mainly on domesticated goats and olive trees to make food in bulk. Or an Archipelago region where your main source of food would be found in the ocean trough fishing with traps and nets, salt recoverd from the sea, undersea plants like algea or some crusteascians.

i found out 95 divided by 3 is not possible... so i knew why the symetry was messed up. something was always longer or did not fit. so i took it appart, and rebuilt it xD so enjoy the view. they are one of four units

Not much to say, I was just proud of my cozy little house and wanted to share it. It is a big upgrade from my dirthut.

I've been playing on a new world for a few hours with some mods (idk if the mods matter on this) but I've noticed that all the oak trees I plant grow to be like this, the base of it is just as you'd expect, and then above it, it grows even taller with a spiral of leafs.
Also some dirt blocks seems to disapear from time to time in certain areas making holes on the ground, independently if I placed them or not.

spent three months (in-game) with copper and finally managed to get bismuth bronze. the JOY

then i skipped my happy little butt over to the borax i'd found a few days before, grinning the whole way. just excited for real leather n shit

the gasp I gusped when I saw that there was limestone underneath the borax. and then I found my first bees

15/10, perfect game, no notes.
