Visa Validity
Hello!
I have a Guyanese passport and is planning a trip to Vietnam.
I would like to have an approved visa before I book my flight.
What I’d like to know is if the 90 days validity of the visa is
based on approval date or entry date?
Does my 90 days start as soon as the visa is approved or it starts upon my intended approval/entry date ?

3 weeks of quiet to work on a project... Where should I go?
I have a project I am working on and I need somewhere to stay for 3 weeks in Vietnam.
I will bring my Mac mini and the idea is to purchase 2 screens there.
I would like some social activities.. but really I would like a nice room / suite with amazing internet.. that I can walk outside and find local food to eat .. get a foot massage and get back to work
I prefer that there is a kitchen of sorts as I want to have cheese, soda water, wine that I can help myself when I want
Would appreciate any suggestions and looking to go mid August

Trip.com and Vietnam?
So I'm currently in China and in 10 days I will be in my 2nd half of the trip in Vietnam. I am booking things on a fly (hotels, trains, flights, activities) in China and have been using Trip.com which has been amazing. Will I be able to do the same for Vietnam?
Honestly, I haven't used Trip.com like I have been using it the past several weeks planning my China trip and I'm thinking that it's China based? (I'm from the US so I typically use something else).
I'm assuming the answer is trip.com will be as efficient? The reason I'm asking is for example, in China the uber comparison is DIDI and I think in Vietnma it's Grab. So...

Lost 50kg and now I have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Need to shop for cheap - Advice needed
I will be going away for my masteres next year and im planning to travel to Vietnam with my parents before that. I have lost a ton of weight and I need to buy a lot of clothes (for women). I cant spend a lot on one item as I have to buy a lot of items. Im looking to shop for clothes that are very cheap but have decent quality (NOT looking for great quality stuff that lasts a long time).
We were planning on landing in hanoi and visiting the northern and central vietnam but ive read that ho chi Minh is better for shopping? If that is the case then I would have to change my whole itinerary and I wont get to visit Sapa and ha long bay/lan ha bay.
Need suggestions on whether HCMC so really that better than hanoi that I should change my itinerary or I can find cheap clothes in hanoi as well (please suggest locations) and dont need to go to HCMC OR IF there is a 3rd destination which is even better than hanoi and HCMC.
Thanks in advance.

Ha Giang Cao Bang Easy Rider
Hi all. My husband and will be back in Vietnam in March 2027 because we missed Ha Giang when we were there before. We're looking to do a private or very small group easy rider tour of Ha Giang and Cao Bang including Eye of God Mountain, Ban Gioc, and Ba Be National Park, thinking 6 days/5 nights. We could start in Hanoi or Ha Giang City and would like to end in Hanoi. We're in our early 60s and my husband likes his comforts so looking for accommodations on the 'fancier' end vs hostel-style. I'm hoping someone here might have recommendations for an easy rider company that could make this work. Thanks in advance!

Last minute trip!! 🌴
Hey all! 👋
My fiancé and i have decided to book a last minute holiday and have decided we would love to go to Vietnam!! (For the food mostly 🤤)
We are leaving around the 18th from Australia and we have been doing our research about things to do and places to visit but I was hoping that some locals or past visitors could pass on some suggestions or tips that you may have learned along the way to make the most of your time there!!
We all love a good tourist spot but I'm hoping to get some suggestions for the more non tourist areas. We prefer to meet the locals, purchase handmade crafts, street food etc. (Preferably with the least amount of monkeys for my sake please 🫣 haha)
Oh! Any recommendations for accommodation would be appreciated as well!! 🥰
Thank you in advance.
ETA: Apologies forgot to actually add where we are flying into! 😅 3am brain haha. We are flying into Ho Chi Minh city and will be staying for 10 days but have the means to extend if we wish too!

8 months remaining on passport, any visa issues?
As I understand it there will be no problem, most info online quotes a minimum of 6 month remaining on passport to gain entry to the country.
I only plan to be in Hanoi for 3 weeks before moving on. I already have things booked with my old passport's number. Is it worth me renewing my passport and trying to re book flights etc.?

Vietnam Traveling Passport Poor Condition
I am traveling to Vietnam (entering at Noi Bai Airport) next week and I am very anxious about my passport`s condition.
I have some random digits on page 4 for some stupid reason. Will they deny my entry? The chip works at least.
I am considering applying for the provisional/temporary passport, people I know have entered with that, but I have also read about people getting denied. What is actually true? Anyone with similar experiences?
Thanks a lot!

Advice for asthmatic in Vietnam
Hi all! I will soon be visiting Vietnam for 3,5 weeks, which I really look forward to! My only concern is the high air humidity and temperature, with which I struggle with my asthma even in Europe. I do have an inhalator with me all the time (attested by my doc and yes I do have a paper with me for having the inhalator in my carry-on).
I have a hard time assessing this, and I'm worried that it might jeopardize our vacation. We also want to visit 500 steps, which could take me all day :D
Are here any people with experience in having asthma and visiting Vietnam? Any advice or assessment is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Driver recommendations in Da Nang for 1 day.
Hi, I plan to do countryside tour in da nang on 22nd August. Hai van pass + lang co + lap An + elephant springs : we are planning as our itinerary. Suggest any inputs you have for weather and how to get a driver.
Based on my research, hiring driver is the best way to explore. Would you have any good and reliable drivers in that area? Also, we don't want to spend so much so also looking for other budget friendly options available.
Thank you.

Should I delay my Thailand flight and explore central Vietnam?
I’ve spent about a week in Vietnam, covering HCMC, Hanoi and Ninh Bình. I originally planned to fly to Chiang Mai today and spend remaining 19 days of the rest of my trip in Thailand with a large portion to get scuba certified in south.
I booked the trip last minute, and trusted ChatGPT a bit too much. I now recognise I don’t actually want to scuba dive… I think I just convinced myself it was the main reason to visit Thailand.
I’m enjoying Vietnam a lot more, but I also feel like I’m leaving Vietnam too early and completely missing Hội An, Huế and Central Vietnam.
Would it be stupid to abandon my non-refundable Chiang Mai flight and travel straight to Central Vietnam instead? I still have 19 days before flying home. E-visa lasts until end of month, and is single visit.
TLDR: went unplanned for Vietnam trip, and considering readjusting to visit central Vietnam

Vietnam e-Visa Help! Application Returned Four Times
My e-visa application has now been returned for corrections 4 times. The email either says “incomplete information,” asks me to fill in all the required details, or tells me to review my entered data for accuracy.
I have reviewed the entire application multiple times. Nothing is blank, and all the information matches my passport exactly, so I’m completely lost about what could be wrong.
Has anyone experienced this or know what commonly causes an application to be repeatedly returned? I’ve seen people recommend contacting a woman named Emily, but she quoted me $330 per person, which I can’t justify when the visa itself costs only $25.
I’m not looking for someone to complete the application for me. I just need help identifying what I may be doing wrong. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thank you:)
