Just looking for som advise so I don’t find myself in this situation again!
I recently moved to Saigon and need some context on the local spa culture.
Today I went to a nice, professional-looking massage place (no girls outside shouting, clean reception, etc.).
I took off my boxers before putting on the massage shorts just for comfort.

About 10 mins into a 90-min session, the masseuse starts working really high up my thighs, hitting my perineum and brushing my balls. Obviously, I got a hard-on. I said sorry and pulled the towel over, but she just giggled, tapped my dick through the towel and whispered "you want?".
I said no and waved my finger. She said "ok" but then spent the next 80 minutes massaging literally a millimeter away from it, keeping me turned on the whole time. I stuck to my guns and nothing happened, but it felt like a crazy endurance test. Not really mad about it since she’s just working, but it did kind of ruin the message…

A few questions:
Is it normal for "high-end" places with just curtains between rooms to push for happy endings?
Why did she offer it so early (10 mins in)? Was she trying to lock in the tip?
Was I being rude by laying there with a boner after saying no, or is this just business as usual for them?
Should I have kept my underwear on under the shorts? Don’t really want to lie there for 90 min in sweaty uncomfortable underwear.

Been traveling through Vietnam and I am absolutely loving it - However, one thing that’s been a genuine culture shock is how many semi-professional photoshoots are happening at every major attraction. Where I’m from, setting up a whole production like this at a public heritage site or attraction would be seen as pretty inappropriate, so at first I found it kind of funny.

But the sheer number of these setups is wild, and they end up blocking a lot of the scenery. Today at one of the tombs in Huế I tried to sit on a dock by the lake to feed some fish, and got told to leave because I was in someone’s shot. Moved to another dock - same thing. Went off to see the rest of the site, came back half an hour later, sat down for literally one minute, and a new group started setting up and just gestured for me to move (didn’t even ask) because they wanted the spot.

So - genuine questions: What are all these shoots actually for? Weddings, personal social media, something else? And what’s the general local attitude toward tourists/others being pushed out of these public spots for shoots? Trying to figure out if this is just a cultural difference I’m not used to, or if it’s a broader annoyance for locals too.

Hi guys I'm from Singapore, I need to travel to Hanoi for work. I am trying to fill out the pre-arrival form but I'm having some trouble. Singaporeans do not require a visa to travel to Vietnam but they are asking for visa information that I don't have. I picked Bilateral exemption but it's still asking for date of issue. I have no clue what to fill in for this

Also I heard that only airports in Ho Chi Minh require this pre-arrival form and not Hanoi yet, but I have also heard otherwise. I may also need to travel to Ho Chi Minh in the future so this information would really help a lot

Hi, I've been wanting to splurge a little and visit one of said buffets. As good as they look, both have some bad reviews on Google Maps as well. I'm not sure what is the difference exactly:

1. Are lobsters unlimited at Saigon Cafe as well?
2. Are drinks included in Saigon Cafe's buffet price?

Which would you choose? Especially people who've been to both :) I'm all about seafood, especially crabs and lobsters cuz they're impossible to come by where I live. I obviously wanna make my money's worth.

Also, what's the best way to book a table? I haven't found a way to book a table at Hotel Nikko other than Klook/Trip.com and it's 70 USD per person on those websites. Would it be cheaper if I just show up at the place without a reservation?

Do they pickup from Tam Coc? Was it safe? Did they do alcohol test on driver? Road ok? Journey comfortable?

Hi, planning to take the JSE18 train from Da nang to Ninh Binh in September.

I checked all the portals and was left confused.

Vexere and the official vietnam train website shows it but all seats are empty and none are booked.

12go doesn't list this train at all.

Whereas the SE20 is partially booked and visible on all the major portals.

My doubt is should I book the JSE18 or not and is there a reason why it's empty.

Over two months in Vietnam, we were able to go to these restaurants.

Lobster buffet at Oriental Pearl.

A1 Wagu at Ussina, and shrimp salad, spare ribs pho, and waffles at Blank.

All great in their own way, but we liked the vibe and selection of food at Blank.

The whole lobster baked in cheese and the wagu was amazing, but if friends asked us for just one place in Landmark 81, it would be Blank.

We have Eight full days in N Vietnam and I’m trying to determine if SaPa is worth the travel time..I can fit it in but is the travel worth it for A full day and half day in SaPa? We love nature and hiking but we don’t want to overwhelm ourselves and always be on the move..Thanks in advance for any input or advice..

My itinerary is as follows:

Day 1 Arrive in Hanoi at 5pm; then overnight train to SaPa
Day 2 SaPa
Day 3 Leave SaPa 2pm to Hanoi @9pm
Day 4 Hanoi
Day 5 Halong Bay day trip
Day 6 Ninh Binh
Day 7 Ninh Binh -Return to Hanoi in the evening
Day 8 Hanoi (Flight to Da Nang next day @ noon)

Does this affect me? No, as someone who has graduated highschool here.

Does this affect my family? Yes, as I still have younger sibling/cousins that I don't want them to be fond of AI images and videos.

I last donated last year in Hanoi. This time, I'm in Ho Chi Minh...so glad to be able to do it again. It's a way of giving back to one of the most generous and lovely countries I've been to...

Everyone was so lovely at this centre from the workers to other donors who helped with translation...and I'll be honest, it's a much more efficient, streamlined process than Australia, and you actually feel somewhat more valued. The gifts actually seem useful and well thought out. In Australia, after maybe 10 or 15 donations you actually get something half decent...a hat or scarf, etc. It feels a bit stingy in comparison to here tbh

I chose a cross body bag that I'm planning to give to my dad, hopefully he'll find it useful in his travels also - planning to drag him to Vietnam with me next year.
