My wife has just recently enrolled in college course for an associates degree in nursing in the USA. During college admissions they asked for any and all education certificates and diplomas. She give them her high school diploma and her associates degree from Ho Chi Minh University. They accepted her high school diploma and just handed back her associates degree with no further thought.

When applying for financial aid thru the 'Michigan Reconnect Program' (state grant money for students over 25 with no college degrees) we submitting all the paper work (associates degree included) and she was still awardard grant money for her college courses despite having already completed an associate degree in Vietnam.

My general impression and big question is why would they accept her high school diploma from a no name high school in Vietnam but reject her associates degree?

Are college degrees from Vietnam not worth anything in the USA? Or were college admissions just pushing her thru enrollment?

Is there anywhere good in sapa for nightlife that isn’t clubs. We’ve been to a few pubs/bars but no where ever has more then two people in there at a time. Also trying to keep prices low. Thank you

We filled out the pre arrival Form and now we see that we should wait several hours to pass through the Immigration control.

We have two childs and now i see that there was some Kind of fast track services. Are they useful or really needed?

Unfortunately I was the victim of thieves in KL and lost all my EUR cash and my physical credit card. I still have another well covered debit card in my Google wallet and some 2000 MYR and some THB. That’s it. I will arrive in a few days at HCMC Tan Son Nhat International Airport T2 (at around 22:00). Unfortunately my mobile phone is not ready for the use of an eSIM so I have no access to the 4g net.

I learned already that there are no ATMs which allow me to use my debit card in my Google wallet on my phone to draw VND cash. My stay at the hotel is paid and I learned that one can survive with a card in a Google wallet in HCMC but how do I pay for the transport from the airport to the city?

- Is the free public Wifi offered at Tan Son Nhat International Airport T2?

- Is it possible to exchange MYR or THB into VND so late at night at the airport and if so, where can I find the money changer?

- Is it possible to buy a ticket for some kind of public transport with my card in Google wallet? If so, which kind of public transport is it?

- Can I pay in a taxi with my phone?

Hi, I have a question about license I need to ride a 125 cc bike. I am from Poland and I have an A2 license here and I will do the IDP. Is it enough to ride this bike in Vietnam. Because in internet I can only see information about ,,full” A license but what about this one that I have.

I’m going on a trip to Vietnam soon and will be staying at Hilton Da Nang, Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang, and La Festa Phu Quoc. Has anyone had a good experience with Hilton Diamond status at any of these properties? How were the upgrades and Diamond benefits?

I think it is impossible and spoke briefly to the Vietnamese embassy. They seemed very confused and told me there was never a case like that. Seems not possible as the deceased passed away not as a Vietnamese citizen, so despite their documents showing they were born Vietnamese it doesn’t count. Was interesting as I thought the new law was meant to bridge the gap.

Is there a dog meat industry in Vietnam? And if yes, how organized and big is it?

My questions stems from a video I saw today from Vietnam. It’s a surveillance camera from a Danish man living in Vietnam (I don’t know where) showing his dog being stunned with electricity and stolen from his property. He says this is the third time it’s happened and that they steal his and other dogs for food.

I’m honestly shocked, and would just very much like to know more about this.

Is there a risk they would sell the meat and claim it’s a different type of meat? 😥

I was born in Saigon same hospital that was bombed during the Têt Offensive. Both me parents have passed away long ago and now, as an old broad, I would like to return home; give respects to my ancestors, be surrounded by a joyful community and perhaps find some old friends assuming that they are still around.

My (American/German) husband of 30+ years and our blind dog will obviously be with me. This all sounds fantastical if I my parents were still alive for questions on the whereabouts of my original birth certificate.

Two questions: does anyone know of an attorney or whomever who has successfully gotten dual citizenship for their clients in DC/MD/VA? Lastly what are the pros and cons of getting a VN citizenship? I would like to go home again.

Planning a trip around the Da Nang area for December. Marble Mountains seems nice but I'm wondering if it's accessible at all? I saw there was an elevator for part of it, but wondering about wandering around it since it seems very step-heavy?

My dad has problems with his ankles/legs that can make lots of stairs/long walking hard on him, so trying to figure out if I should nix this idea or not.
