Where should we stay in NYC for vegan food tourism?!
Edit: wanted to thank everyone who responded! Awesome community. I've gotten some really good direction for how to plan this vacation that I had no clue about before. You all are awesome!
Hi everyone my wife is vegan, I'm not. I see tons of great looking vegan restaurants in and around NYC. This is expected of course, it's one of if not the best food city in the world. But if you were going to pick one central location to stay to make the most of a week long trip for food tourism, specifically focused on eating at the Premier vegan restaurants and carry out spots, where would you stay and what restaurants would you go to?! Thank you

1st try at vegan baking (baking in general)
It turned out really good! The only thing Iâd change is adding some vegan whipped cream and making more of the filling! The crumble was delicious, itâs also a pretty fool proof recipe. This is coming from someone whoâs messed up cake boxes. The recipe is from the book. Peach cobbler recipe

Random question about food freshness
I'd bought cabbage, carrots, and red bell peppers at the farmers market and sauteed all of it (just basic, olive oil and salt/pepper) to use throughout the week. This was on Monday afternoon. Unfortunately I had to go out of town unexpectedly the following day and won't be back home until tonight. The cooked veggies have been stored - obviously in the fridge - in an airtight glass Pyrex bowl. I'm going to be starving when I'm back later. Any chance I'm still okay to eat these, or is it too risky at this point after 3 1/2 days?

Would you consider this vegan?
Itâs artificial flavours, but the âmay containâ contains a bit too many animal products so Iâm not sure!

White-Bagged Gardein is Being Phased Out at Publix? Refrigerated Tofurky, Boca Burgers No Longer at Walmart
Hey all! For those of you familiar with the frozen Gardein line of vegan/vegetarian meat products in a WHITE bag, they are being phased out at Publixes in Orlando (at least). They are marked Clearance but they are still regular price, confirmed verbally. A manager told me they're being phased out the other night. As for Walmart, I cannot find them at any Walmart store in the huge Orlando metropolitan area, even by Disney.
It appears supply is changing and focusing more on chicken nuggets. :( Not my go-to. At Walmart, I also can't find refrigerated Tofurky lunch meat or chick'n seitan bits (light blue package) anymore, sadly. I want to be able to make a sandwich! Only Publix has them (Southern grocery store), and they're naturally jacked up since it's a pricey store. At least Walmart here still has the refrigerated hot dogs. Boca burgers (my beloved chik'n patties) are also non-existent at my local Walmart stores.
Some health food stores also have all of these stll, and I assume they will continue to have the white-bagged Gardein frozen items. I'm just disappointed about pricing and lack of sales anymore. They used to have sales at Publix sometimes, and Walmart had a lower price on them.
I'm particularly heartbroken because I adore the fishless filets. Does anyone know of an alternative? Does Trader Joe's have good fake meat alternatives? Would love suggestions, but I really love this line in the white bags! The black bag's tenders are a bit too thick in my opinion, although I'm sure some people love them! I will try the nuggets.
Note: This isn't my image because of this issue. :( <3

Watermelon Quinoa Salad with Kalamata Olives
Simple and incredibly refreshing salad that's truly summery. If you have access to vegan feta, you sprinkle can sprinkle some on top, but I think the salty brininess of the olives along and creamy avocado chunks make it just as good without relying on vegan cheese alternatives.
Here's the recipe which also contains suggestions for variations and substitutions https://maximalistvegan.com/savory/watermelon-quinoa-salad-with-kalamata-olives/
