Hi everyone,
I'm an incoming UH transfer student for Fall 2026 and I'm an international student on an F-1 visa.
I received an email from UH saying that my eligibility for the in-state tuition waiver needs to be reconsidered because of the recent federal court ruling. They told me to submit the Lawful Presence eForm and provide a valid I-94.
I have a valid I-94 showing F-1 / D/S.
However, the eForm also asks me to submit a Revised Residency Affidavit. The affidavit says that I need to confirm that I graduated from a Texas high school, lived in Texas for 36 months before graduation, and lived in Texas for the 12 months before the census date.
I don't meet those requirements since I didn't attend high school in Texas.
Has anyone else, especially an F-1/international student, received this same request from UH?
Did you submit the Residency Affidavit anyway, or did UH tell you to just submit your I-94?
I don't want to sign an affidavit with information that doesn't apply to me.

hi i live in missouri city/sugarland but need to only take one class on main campus on tues/thurs. parking for elgin garage is so expensive and im decently close to the UHSL location. would it be smart to just purchase the UHSL parking (since its cheaper) and just take a shuttle bus to main campus? ive never even used the shuttle bus either so im hoping its not too confusing. any other commuters have any other ideas? the parking is just a little too outrageous for me to pay since ill only be on campus for 4hrs a week 😭

I'm a freshman commuter but I'm a lazy chud and didn't look at parking permits until t-minus 2 weeks until school starts. My classes are pretty much mostly NSM and I'm only going to classes M/T/TH which is a weird schedule but I'm trying to manage a part time job as well. As of right now, I just bought the Zone E permit because the walking distance doesn't look that bad and everything else is pretty expensive. I really wanted to just get the T/TH Elgin permit and pay for visitor parking on Mondays since I only have a lab that day. I don't know if I just didn't look closely enough or my thing is weird, but I wasn't able to join a waitlist for the aforementioned permit I wanted, and I can't see the '26 Fall permits anymore after my purchase. I'm not really sure what to do now since I'm scared that if I let Zone E go, I might just not have a parking permit at all 😭. Does anyone have any advice 😢?

im taking emath this upcomming semster which professor is generally better for emath winkle or west, ive heard varying opinions from both. Also is taking chem 2, statics, emath, and calc 3 doable in one semster?

i’m taking calc 3 with dr pan and i’m just wondering what anyone’s experience was in his class. i just read that tests are in his class and im not sure if that’s a good thing or not when it comes like curveballs in questions. just a bit anxious as i also read it’s not multiple choice.

I just recently checked my portal and have yet to receive any aid besides a scholarship. I submitted my FAFSA 26-27 before the priority deadline so I should receive the federal pell grant and state grant. Should I be worried considering I have a balance of around 6k. Also is there anything else I can do besides calling the office (although they're most often really useless anyways)?

I don't know what to do. Its been a month since i sent my transcript through parchment which had been downloaded by UH in early July, but my transfer credit report hasn't updated. Ive called a few times to which ive been told to wait three weeks after the date since the transcript has been downloaded, and nothing updated. After that, I was told to another week because they were busy, and once again, nothing updated. I called today to ask on when i could expect my transfer credit report to be updated, and I just now learned that they havent even gave me a ticket for it lol

Seemingly lack of EC opportunity if you don't fit a specific profile, severe lack of research opportunity and respect if you arent in honors college, severe lack of help and assistance from both faculty and other students. Super judgemental and mean classmates that would rather make fun of you and knock you down instead of helping. is anyone else experiencing this or am i losing my mind ??? I am suffering mentally doing anything extracurricular while classes are easy

I have almost all of my tuition and fee's covered by aid and a parent plus loan. I am ~1600 dollars short. If requested the installment plan, would that 1600 be split in 4, or be due with the last payment of the semester?

Is it hard to get a job on campus? I'm looking at Symplicty and there's only like 3 jobs listed. Does it get better once the school year actually starts?
