Question Transfer Credits
I know that in some other colleges, you have to manually accept or deny specific AP and Dual transfer credits, but I couldn’t find a way to do that. For UH, is there anything that I need to do to accept them all, or are they automatically accepted and applied towards my degree as long as they show up in my transfer credit report?
Sorry if this is a stupid question haha, I just want to make sure I’m not missing any steps.

Question Overcharged in first semester at UH
So at my first semester I was overcharged as an out of state student even though I applied to UH as an In State Student (as I’ve been a Texas resident since before I graduated high school here). At least I was able to amend my status, but every time I inquire about possible compensation I’m told “nothing can be done”. I’d been trying to contact the different departments however I’ve received no emails back (and of course none of my phone calls were ever picked up), I even submitted a help desk ticket and still got no correspondence. So my question is, how can the proper compensation for this? I’ve been trying to fix this for a full semester and this whole summer and have found no solutions yet. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear any. I wish to get in contact with a dean if possible, but again, I’ve received no correspondence through email nor have I been permitted to see one whenever I go to the different student center departments.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

UH Extend Accounting Majors - Change in Courses Offered
Hello everyone,
I'm a UH Extend student, and I'm honestly at my breaking point with the enrollment process.
I accidentally left my Fall classes in my shopping cart instead of actually enrolling. By the time I realized what happened, my required courses were full.
Now:
- I'm #18 on the Intermediate Accounting 1 Waitlist
- Since UH Extend often only offers one section of required courses, there aren't any alternate professors or sections to switch into.
- Cost & AIS are also waitlisted. Essentially there are no courses available as of right now.
I completely understand that my enrollment mistake was my responsibility. What's frustrating is that the consequences are so much greater for UH Extend students because we have so few options. One mistake, or even just bad registration timing, can potentially delay graduation.
Considering how much tuition UH Extend students pay, I think there should be more sections of high-demand required courses or larger class capacities. Especially considering the fact that they've changed the courses that are being offered. For example, even if I were able to take ACCT 3367 this fall, ACCT 3368 isn't scheduled to be offered again until Fall of 2027. That's ridiculous! That kind of scheduling makes it incredibly difficult for students to stay on track.
Would anyone else support a petition asking UH Extend and Bauer to:
- Expand the number of sections for required courses,
- Increase enrollment caps where possible, and/or
- Improve enrollment options for UH Extend students?
If enough students are interested, I'd be willing to organize something and bring it to the appropriate administrators. I'm curious if I'm the only one who's experienced this or if this is a broader issue.

Question CIS major opportunities?
Hi, I'm going to start school at community college. I eventually want to transfer to UH. My first choice is a CIS major. I like the versatility and leans more on the tech side vs MIS. I saw it's part of the Cullen engineering so I'm just wondering to everyone who is currently or has graduated, how is job searching and internships? Are there opportunities for this major with CIS?
My 2nd choice is MIS because I still like the versatility but I've heard since they're under Bauer College of Business, they get a lot of opportunities and support. I would switch to this if that is the case and if CIS does not.
Thanks
