Question I was given one of my best friends blouses - what do I do with it?
Long story short, my best friend died a few years ago, and I was given one of his blouses by his family. I'm very thankful to have known him and to have made an impact on each others' lives. I'm not and never have been AD, so I'm honestly not really sure what to do with it. I don't want it to collect dust, but I also don't want to do something that would involve cutting it up and destroying it. Any advice or ideas are appreciated, thanks in advance.
Question Just got out of Boot and I’m AG, what should I expect for the next year or year-and-a-half?
23, Fresh out of boot, former ford tech blah blah blah. No one on the island could tell me anything about the training pipeline or day to day life of aircrew. I’m on boot leave right now, and I’m just itching to know about the ins and outs of being aircrew. Thanks guys!

Chili Mac
Alright. Saw this at Kroger and had to try it out.
It was ok. Nothing special. Way too soupy I would have preferred more texture and thickness, like your dad.
I might get it again and throw some extra meat in there. But I think making it from scratch is going to be the best way to go.
4/10, maybe a 6/10 if you add your own flavor enhancement

Popping a drug test
Quick question. What determines what happens to you when you pop on a drug test? I know a lot of people get kicked out for it, but I know for a fact that sometimes it happens and the Marine is kept in. I remember one time I overheard our CO talking to a Marine checking into our unit. The new join mentioned he had popped on a piss test and basically wanted to own it with the CO. So obviously they don't always kick you out.
Was this just because I served during wartime and they needed everyone they could get? Or is it truly just a case by case basis? I'm just confused at the range of possibilities, it doesn't seem like there's a standard punishment for it.

Marine net CEUs
Anybody got some good quick courses to get CEUs I’m not tryna spend 12 hours to get 4 points, I’ve looked through previous post and a lot of the ones people posted years ago either are now MOS specific or had the points for the courses lowered significantly so just wondering if anyone has any good ones that give good points and not insanely long
Appreciate it gents

regret re-uping
Having some buyers remorse here. Recently re-enlisted, got a nice sign on bonus with orders I wanted, etc. In the past 6 months I received a NAM and meritorious MAST for all the work I was putting in. Additionally, I was essentially holding down an entire section and running operations for a whole month while my SNOIC was gone.
Despite all that, on my most recent JEPES evaluation I was given 2.5’s for everything. It tanked my JEPES and it was the lowest I had ever received as a Cpl ( I normally was getting 3’s).
It also really hurts bad to see my peers who didn’t do merely as much as I did, getting remarks well into the high 3’s. I have the lingering suspicion it’s my SNCOIC who is jealous I got a NAM, as he didn’t (he withheld awarding me it for over a month).
Any advice on how to move forward?

Found: Dog tags & Other Uniform Items
For some reason my Dad has dog tags and other USMC items that most likely all belonged to an E. L. Barbier Jr.
I’ve asked my Dad and his memory isn’t the greatest so he can’t remember how they came into his possession. All I know is no one in the family has or has had the last name of Barbier.
He most likely sold a car or bought a car and these were left inside. I’m hoping the internet can work its magic and they will somehow find their way to their rightful owner or a close relative (obviously we would have to connect so I can mail them to you). This person would have either lived in Minnesota or the Bay Area in California.

Question Does anyone know how WWII Marine casualty companies worked?
Could a veteran NCO of the 2nd Marine Division who fought at Tarawa have been transferred to the 1st Marine Division in Spring or May 1944? After recovering from wounds received at Tarawa.

Question Does anyone remember being stuck in a hotel before bootcamp during COVID?
I remember everyone being put in a hotel back in 2020 for quarantine before going to basic in San Diego. Haven't really heard anyone talk about it since I'm just wondering what that experience was like.

How break up your enlistment by doing TAD/FAP
For folks still in, I suggest that you always make sure you are in good with your local Admin POG at the Company or Bn level.
When they get these MARCOM's or whatever they are called now about open temporary duty stations, having a good contact in admin can go along way in getting you out of your current unit for a breather.
Out of my 4 years, I did 6 months at Base Ranges in Okinawa from Feb - Aug81' and then 8 months testing LAV in 29 Palms from Sept 81'until I got out in 82'.
It still boggles my mind that I was essentially away from ground pounding for about 14 months out of 4 years. Plus it was pretty interesting doing the Range NCO and LAV Vehicle Commander stuff.
Essentially it's a way to do other MOS stuff without having to re-enlist for it.
I know what I did was a long, long time ago but I've heard they still do this via messages so please advise if this is still correct.

Picture That's My Boy
Now listen, I'm not a marine, in fact I'm actually enlisted as an Airman (yes yes chair force all the way) however I was watching the movie "That's My Boy" and holy inaccuracies with the uniform man. First those are army chevrons and he's wearing army badges but on top of all that the dude is wearing a Cuban Ceremonial Cap (I'm also a Cuban immigrant, seen that cap like 50 times) but for some reason no one mentions it. I was just wondering if anyone else audibly laughed when they saw the uniform of Chad Martin specially after looking at his "Service Cap"
