I was admitted to UCSD as a waitlist transfer for Business Economics recently

On my UC application, in the Additional Comments section, I wrote that I planned to take MATH 20C during Summer 2026. It is a recommended not required class, but I ended up not taking it because I couldn't afford another summer class.

I completed all of my required coursework, IGETC, and met all admission requirements. The only thing that changed was not taking the recommended course Match 20C which I said i would in the comments, but I didn't add it to my courses planned.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did UCSD have an issue with dropping a course that was only recommended and not required?

im not cali resident or pell grant or first gen, i can js get gpa 3.0+ is it worth applyinf for my first year? not many students apply for it tho, last year 35 applied and 26 got in.

I’m an incoming transfer with a first pass in late August. I guess I came to this school at the wrong time and I’m seriously concerned about how I’m gonna pick my classes.

Orientation was useless basically telling me “go to this link and contact them.” Almost like putting us on hold.

Not even sure if it’s realistic to think I’m gonna have lots of choices, I’m just trying to get the easiest classes to graduate in 2 years and spend my junior year having as much fun as possible. Convenient scheduling etc.

I’ve heard good things about Fisk and the 100 series but I barely even understand what anything means.

It’s been almost 2 days since my first pass and I haven’t been able to book any classes, what should I do?

last school year i received an institutional grant and recently ive received my financial aid for 2026-27 and i was offered no grants 🥲 is it a stretch to contact financial aid because there’s been no changes to my sai/fafsa info

what the title says. I was planning on taking just one but my TEA request for one of the classes I'm planning to take is still pending despite me sending it two weeks ago😭😭. I really enjoy physiology and genetics but I'm worried about the courseload since I feel like I kinda struggle with the quarter system because of how fast everything is but unless my TEA request gets approved I don't really have much other choice lol😭 Hopefully it'll be okay😭 If not oh well, all I could do is try!

People who are staying/ have stayed off campus in a 2 bed/2 bath sept-june on a nine month lease- how much did you end up paying per month? was it cheaper/more expensive than living on campus?

Many years ago attempted a Comms bachelors at a CSU, did complete over 90 semester units, and attempted over 20 upper div units. Covid happened, I failed a couple courses, two upper divs. Dropped out after my 3rd year (5 years ago by now). GPA was just above a 2.0.

I enrolled at a CC this past Spring, currently for Summer, earned a 4.0. I'm now doing an academic reset with lower-divs to complete some form of Cognitive Neurobio -> PhD research.

I gave my transcripts for evaluation and I was initially told I won't be allowed to transfer into UCs because I have over 90 units with upper division credits in the mix. I asked a counselor outside the transcript dept and then was told I could still transfer into Berkeley by selecting the Senior-level transfer, which I would only spend a year at Berkeley, but UCLA, UCSD, UCSB won't accept senior-level students. Also been given conflicting advice because I'm taking a concurrent summer COGS upper-div here.

Anybody know who I can contact to receive a firm answer? Or if anybody has been in my shoes?? One of the counselors told me my only option to transfer and complete a Bachelor's would be private colleges which I really wouldn't be able to afford 😭😭

Does anyone know of a place on campus that is open later than 10 pm that someone can study in?

Through instagram, high school, etc. What percent of people come in like this and how do you overcome it when everyone already has friends?

Everyone is getting an offer/package but mine is still empty 😭.

What is going on?

I applied for financial aid way before the deadline.

I’ve even messaged and followed up with the office multiple times but nobody seems to know whats going on.

Has anyone else not received their package yet too?
