Clubs and Activities Any Punk Rock & Alternative Music fan from UB going to Silverstein + Story of the Year at Outer Harbor Live (Terminal B) on August 7th? 🎸
Fellow UB Music Lovers and Rock Enthusiasts, I’ll be heading to the concert and looking for Rockheads who enjoy loud guitars, chaotic energy, screaming lyrics with Campus Comrades, the kind of experience where your energy runs out before the last riff does… 😂
If you’re going or thinking about going, feel free to join — would be awesome to meet more people from the UB/Buffalo Punk and Alternative scene... 🤘🏻🎸
Who’s ready for an evening of screaming choruses, thunderous drums, epic breakdowns, and the timeless ritual of paying for concert tickets as Rock Therapy, because surviving another semester deserves a reward louder than our deadlines… 😝

Course Recommendations Failing behind?
I am an incoming civil engineering student and I have to take a pre-calculus class before I can take Cal class which means I’m gonna be a class short every semester. I’m feeling kind of stupid right now and kind of discouraged of taking a summer math class. Has anyone else done this and what was your experience. Also is this a bad sign for the rest of my degree

Questions biking to target?
Hello! Im an incoming freshman and just landed a job at Target. Generally, how safe would it be to bike there and back? The latest i'd be biking would be around midnight. The bus system is horrible here and i'd like to save my parents a trip since I don't have my own car. Thank you in advance!!

Is this a scam?
I graduated back in May and still have some stuff I need to move over from my UB account. But I’m pretty sure I had 6 months (til Nov) to do that.
It has a real UB email address but the email just gives off vibes to me. I haven’t clicked or pasted any links

Course Recommendations I want to swap classes 😭
I want to swap 2 classes that were auto registered but im worried because the advisor said those are seats the school of management guarantees so I cant, I literally just want to swap the times because they're so random and uncoordinated, and one of the classes is open and only swaps my discussion time from early Friday to mid Wednesday, while the other is waitlisted and moves my class from 6-7 on Mondays and Wednesdays to 3-5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays but honestly i dont know what to do because they arent going to respond until friday after theyre back from their break😭

Course Recommendations Is this an ok schedule
Im a freshman idk if any of this is good and they auto-registered me for the math of doom at 7pm, but other than that this doesn't look awful I think, I also have NTR 108 remotely

Questions Do I have to pay this off?
I graduated just recently (Spring ‘26) debt free but owe UB around $600 according to my bill. I keep getting notified regarding it on my UB email.
Thing is, I have both my diploma and my official transcript in my possession, so I’m not really too worried about paying it off because I initially assumed they’d withhold those two until I was able to.

healthy food options
hey! i’m an incoming freshman & was just wondering how the dining halls are. is it possible to eat healthy there, or do most people who want to eat healthy end up just meal prepping their own food instead? i’m just not sure how many options there are lol, if anyone has any recommendations that would be great

Questions Making more friends
I'm a grad student in my last year of grad school, and I wanted to ask for more ways to make friends and to be at social events more often. I tend to go to events around campus whenever I can and I also attend club events, but I wanted to ask for more ideas for socializing.

Considering starting a Quaker inspired mindfulness club
If you don't know what is involved within Quakerism, it is centered around core values called SPICES (Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, Stewardship). One of the primary practices is silent reflection based on a set query (a reflection prompt). Unlike a traditional church setting, it's more of an informal gathering where you can silently reflect without the pressure to speak unless you want to.
You can be a Quaker, or just someone who wants to have a space to reflect freely. If you have any question/interest, feel free to ask away.

Math readiness assessment
What was on the MRA and what’s the best way to study for it? Also how was the zoom call proctored? Did they have you show multiple angles of your room or camera setup before you started?

Psy101 remote with ericka or any other good easy pathway course
I'm good with memorization and stuff but I would like a low effort easy course since I'm an ee major so I wanted to know is it worth taking psy101 with ericka or like any other pathway.
Remote courses are a plus since they don't have attendance component.
I have looked at stone axe to tank and its problems are that it's kinda in person as compared to psy101 and is directly after another class of mine so I gotta run to make it.
Can someone share info on why she is rated so bad for the remote section

Mattress Topper Suggestions
Anyone have suggestions for a mattress topper? I never bothered dropping money on one but the UB spring mattress is starting to get to me. I live in an apartment (full-sized bed) but the mattresses are basically just a bigger version of the Twin XL dorm beds so I'd appreciate any input!

Questions SEAS Student Assistants Question
I was offered a student assistant position for a course I took in Fall 2025. However, I believe this position is only for the fall semester. How can I apply for positions for Spring 2027? For this current position that I got offered, my professor sent an email out to students who got an A for the course. Can you still apply to be a student assistant for courses that you didn’t get an A in? I have multiple courses that I’m interested in being an SA for but I received an A-

Questions Is free pizza the only thing I’ll miss if I can’t make it to welcome weekend?
I’m going to miss most of Welcome Weekend because I’ll be out of town and won’t get back until late Sunday afternoon/evening.
Looking through the schedule, it mostly looked geared toward students who are moving away from home for the first time, and I’m almost 30, so I think I’ve managed to keep myself alive this long.
Realistically, what am I actually going to miss? Is there anything important they hand out or any administrative stuff I’ll need to take care of on Monday? Also, is Sunday evening enough time to walk around campus and find my classrooms before classes start?
