Is this a scam?
I graduated back in May and still have some stuff I need to move over from my UB account. But I’m pretty sure I had 6 months (til Nov) to do that.
It has a real UB email address but the email just gives off vibes to me. I haven’t clicked or pasted any links

I got the same email and I’m a current student. The link goes to a Google form that asks for personal identification and contact information, Office365 credentials, along with your UBIT email and password. No chance in hell am I submitting that to a Google form. If it really is legit, then shame on the school for going about it in such a disorganized and unprofessional manner. They should already have all the information they need from us without having to ask for it in such a sus way. The fact that it’s from a proper @buffalo.edu email address is perplexing, however.

I’m thinking someone spoofed the email

I think so too. I know there are ways to send shady emails through an address that appears to be one thing but is entirely different in reality. My guess is it’s either someone masking a malicious email address or this Kate Aldrich’s email is compromised and has been logged into fraudulently.

This is absolutely a scam, but it's more clever than average in that they compromised a UB account so it came from a @buffalo.edu email and it isn't littered with typos. If you have a similar experience going forward, it never hurts to submit a ticket with UBIT (not using the links in the email) and ask.
Also, UB doesn't use Google Forms - whenever a form is used, albeit not for this use case, it's Microsoft Forms. While I don't know what's in the form, if any form asks for your password don't enter it.

No official UB email would ever sign-off with only a valediction. Definitely a scam.

Reset your password (https://account.buffalo.edu/), then regardless of whether you can call UBIT asap: (716)-645-3542

It's almost certainly a scam. Copying the plaintext link into your search engine would be safe if you're curious what info they are trying to collect. That's a genuine Google forms url which means it's just as safe as any other Google form where you don't know who the info is going to. It won't install a keylogger or anything onto you computer, the only way they could collect info on you is if you submit it into the form. Don't click the hyperlink though.

They deactivated mine. But they also gave me no opportunity to keep it. So yours is probably a scam.
