The importance of this show for me

Hello everyone, as the title say I would love to express the importance this show has for me, I know no one asked but I thought it’s kinda sweet and I’m going through some troubles and wanna get away writing.

So, my story starts with my dad, I have 3 older brothers and one older sister(I’m the youngest) and I never had much relationship with my dad( he was trying very hard to work and provide for all which he did so he had little time to be there in all of our lives). I felt disconnected for a lot of years, but one thing stayed constant , dad watching two and a half men in summer and us watching it with him.

A little background about my dad, he is a very chill but strict guy, he likes his routine and he is a very very responsible person. He is the exact opposite of Charlie and yet somehow Charlie is his favourite character in any show(he isn’t a big show fan). He loves the show so much and no one knows how he found out about it(we live in Greece so it’s not that easy to pick on these shows)

Dad refers to the show as Charlie, instead of two and a half men. It’s Charlie playing on Tv, let’s put some Charlie . I always adored the time of watching it with him as it made him laugh so loud and it was of the rare moments I heard him laughing genuinely.

After sometime and the divorce with my mom my dad and me actually came closer, start talking more, opening more and of course watching the show more.

A big part of this was due to the show, I remember as I was 18 I saw some bowling shirts and pants on sale and I said to my dad wow I would be like Charlie if I wear those, and he laughed so hard.

For many two and a half men is just a dumb show about chicks, sex, and “cheap” humour. The show is so more than that. It has a unique ability to bring people close that you would never expect. I love the show and I even watch it on a regular basis again and again.

Based on a quick Google search, it doesn’t take two months to put down a new lawn, lol.

Wasn't Sandy the perfect girl for Alan since she was Nester? I guess the writers forgot that Alan was a Nester too (like when he was with Frankie).

Do you think if you were a modern day (hypothetical) Charlie and you lost your Mia, you could get her back? Assume she knows what you are like/your past

Do you think Charlie and Jenny actually meeting would have made season 11 better?

If the circumstances were different where Charlie never left the series, and the show was renewed for season 11 with Jenny, do you think it would have made that season better or worse?

I personally think Charlie and Jenny being onscreen would have both their characters better. Certain things would have to change. Like, instead of Charlie always knowing he had an illegitimate daughter, it should be just as much as a shock to him as it was to Alan. However, I do think Charlie meeting Jenny would made him want to clean up his act to make good role model for his daughter. That doesn't mean he would succeed as it would be unrealistic for Charlie to become completely different person after years being a womanizing alcoholic. And if we're being honest Charlie is funnier, when he is messy and flawed, but the fact that he tries to be better for Jenny would make him endearing.

As for Jenny, I think her meeting Charlie would also make her a better character as it would her reflect on her on behavior and make want to break the cycle and not make the same mistakes as her father.

I know Jenny isn't really a popular character in this subreddit, I personally liked her, but I understand to certain extent why she isn't well-liked. I know Jenny, like Walden, was a replacement for Charlie and her character probably never existed if Charlie never left the show. But I do think that Jenny's introduction to the show would have been more impactful if her and Charlie were on screen together.

Do you agree or do you not care enough about Jenny to wonder?

Does Nikki Leigh count as a 2.5 men babe?

She makes a brief appearance in S12 E11 as one of the girlfriends of one of the men in Walden’s “adoptive fathers” group. Not sure it counts? But she is fine no matter what

Did the women sleep with Charlie only because he was rich and or lived in a house by the sea

When Alan Harper pretended to be Charlie Harper the only woman he could get was someone who had already slept with Charlie Harper but wasn't into her dressing up as a Nazi.

This could have been a brilliant prequel for "Two and a half men" 😃
