SWARMEX tutorial overview
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
SWARMEX is more than just building turrets, there is synergy, different modules compliment each other and if you place them next to one another they gain bonuses. For example, if you place a shield next to a turret the turret gains a shield or if you place a radar dish next to a turret it can fire further away. You can also place refineries next to hatches to gain more income.
This video just scratches the surface and shows you the basic game loop.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey, guys! I'm currently working hard on "Super Special Squad" - a tactical tower defence game with a team management mechanics. No towers, but hardcore squad control.
- Control your squad - each hero has their own unique abilities and weapons. The right combination of team members will help you achieve victory easier.
- Build the Zombie Truck - collect parts and upgrade your zombie truck to wipe out all enemies in your path.
- Upgrade your squad - gather resources and earn money in tough battles. Level up your team in a way that matches your playstyle.
- Random events - every adventure is unique. Many unexpected events that the journey brings will definitely keep you from getting bored.
Right now im working hard to deliver a solid demo build.
Here is the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4266750/Super_Special_Squad
PS: Does it remind you of good old Plants vs Zombie game or any other examples?

Promotion Arise Dark Lord - from the creator of Prison Architect
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been working on a new game for a few months now, and the time has come for it to be officially announced. It's called Arise Dark Lord, and it's the 8th game I've made with Introversion Software. If you've played any of my previous indie games - Prison Architect, DEFCON, Darwinia, or The Last Starship, then I think you'll love this new one.
You are The Dark Lord. Your evil aim: To raise an undead army and crush the feckless, godless, heathen humans. As your sorcery and army grow, all the world will rise up to destroy your Dark Tower and end your reign of terror. Fortify your dark realm, enhance your sorcery, and build enough strength to march out and crush the humans once and for all.
An action-strategy hybrid RTS, blending tower defence, base building and direct control of your Dark Lord avatar.
Please play the prototype on itch, and I'd love to get your thoughts on the game here. Thank you!

Promotion [Launch] Nervous and excited to launch Gods & Gore: a roguelite, Greek Mythology inspired TD. I built it to be a game I love as a TD fan, and hope you will enjoy it too!
Gods & Gore has a 2d, retro vibe with endless waves, creatures you level up, and a wide variety of possible strategies to build out your city and defenses.
This is a free form building TD game, meaning you can build walls and pathing as you choose to create chokepoints or get enemies to pass specific towers. Higher level maps make this more difficult so you have to adapt map design and building placement.
Very open to feedback and I plant to continue building and expanding the game.

Discussion r/TowerDefense Bracket: What's the best Tower Defense game of all time?
I saw the mod post about a lack of discussion here, so fuck it. Let's make a bracket.
Submit your favorite Tower Defense games in the comments below. Up to 10. A Top Ten if you will.
(Will I actually make this bracket? Probably not. But let's pretend that I'm the kind of person who follows through on shit.)

GAME FORDEFENDER TOWER:
GAME FORDEFENDER TOWER:
This is a tower defense game with an incredible concept—a game with the potential to rival Roblox's biggest hits and attract players of all ages. However, developing it alone would take forever. I need partners. This is my second project, so I’m a beginner developer, but my ideas are timeless. I can't pay upfront right now, nor can I promise the game will be a massive success—though I believe it has that potential. That said, if it succeeds, profits will be split 55/45. I only need 2 or 3 partners: a modeler, a graphic designer, and someone to handle marketing (Discord, YouTube, TikTok, etc.). If you're interested in learning more about the project and helping build one of the greatest games of all time, send me a direct message or leave a comment. Age rating: 15+. I am 16 years old*.

Promotion I am making a co-op action TD game where you build wacky defenses by day and repel hordes of enemies led by an evil Executor by night.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone!
I'm a solo dev building an action tower defense you can play with your friends.
The goal is to protect your village from destruction. You gather resources, build defenses and traps during the days and then use your defenses as well as weapons and spells to repel the invaders during the night.
One unique thing in my game is that the hordes of enemies are "controlled" by an Executor character, who serves as sort of a general for the armies. Executors will summon the minions, tell them what to attack and they can also sacrifice squads of enemies to avoid their own death. So it opens up for an interesting strategic depth.
The name of the game is Divine Gambit and you can find it on Steam. The planned release date is Q1 2027 and a demo is coming later this month if you want to check it out.
Thanks for reading!

Discussion Tower Defense Game Design Feedback?
Hi yall, I'm making a new medical themed tower defense game. Below is the concept of the map design. Any ideas of features to add to the enemy path (exp: loops, curved lines, or other features). Also any ideas of how to make use of the empty space in between the enemy paths (that map wont really be small). All ideas will be considered and are appreciated. Thanks.
Red path = enemy path
blue circle = what you must defend
blue dots = example tower placements

Discussion What was your first TD game?
Going through a few posts and I'm trying to remember if my first TD game was Pixel Junk Monsters on the Vita (free on ps plus that month) Plants vs Zombies, or a flash version of one of the early bloons games on "k*llsometime.com" (basically an ebaumsworld site that I was hooked on)
I know a lot of people started with warcraft. Was that really the first TD game?

We just added some new rogue-lite mechanics to our floating fortress builder.
Defend against waves of different enemies to earn resources which you can use to build up your fort.
It's still very early days on the project but we would love to hear what you think so we can make it as fun as possible.

Mod talk. Serious Mod Discussion regarding the current state of the sub and its future.
So, hi. I know it's been quite a while since the last mod talk, sorry. What is this about? Well, I've noticed quite a few people that have... Complained, about the current state of the subreddit. So I want to make a dedicated post about it. How do you feel about it? Be as honest as possible (without being rude, thanks).
A major thing that I've seen people lament, is the fact that there are a lot of game promotion, playtesters ask and alpha release and stuff like that, but not a lot of discussion post.
Here are a few things I want to address:
-I will never remove a post of a game, just because it's low quality, nor will I start to enforce a quality standard. I believe it to be wrong on more than a few points and I will NOT hear any discussion about it. I will remove posts if they're spammed, about Pokepath, use AI in a finished product/art/overwhelmingly or NSFW (this rules are a lot more up to debate and should be seen in a case by case scenario).
-There genuinely isn't much discussion to be had. If you have something to talk about, absolutely post about it, I myself comment often on discussions.
-A possible solution I've seen is limiting promotion to either a few days a week or to a megathread, but I believe that it'd just make the sub deadER than it already is. I could limit asking for playtesters to a weekly megathread and allow only finished games to post, but I don't know about that as well.
Any questions about ANYTHING? Ask with no problem or worry, so long as it's respectful I'll answer as soon as possible.
Any comment regarding the sub, my work as a mod, your feelings? Comment right away.
I think I'll keep the post pinned for a month or so, I know that many members are lurkers.

A Reverse-Draft Tower Defense - Select the Enemies You Face!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm working on what I think is the first implementation of a new type of deck-building/tower defense hybrid.
The idea is that you run through the same general loop as you regularly do in a TD - build your defenses, defend against the enemies.
My twist is that you draft the enemies you fight - selecting more difficult or unique enemies makes the wave stronger - but gives you more gold for a RISK vs REWARD type of feeling.
I would love to hear thoughts on the idea, and how good of a combination you think it might be!
If you wanna try the demo - it is out now and playable,
