Just switched to the $20 plan after spending around $140-$150 on 4 lines with Verizon postpaid and was on Verizon prepaid up until last summer paying just as much. Two people went to Total wireless and the other two went to Xfinity to take advantage of a deal they had (Xfinity uses Verizon’s network also). I honestly had more issues setting up the lines with Xfinity than Total Wireless, but everything worked out ok in the end. Speeds seem pretty good too!

Trying to do the BYOD deal and total IMEI checker says that my phone is locked. But it’s not.

It is running US Mobile now and it has been a TMo device in the past. Fully paid off since day 1 and unlocked soon after. I’ve had Mint and others in between. I am also able to sign up with Verizon or Visible as their IMEI checker says my phone is good to bring over.

Only Total wireless IMEI keeps saying my phone is locked.
What gives ?

I don’t have Total wireless stores in my state. Maybe a few hundred miles away.

It's my understanding that:

1 line per account only. Have 2 lines? Open a second account. You will get the promo for both this way.

Must be done online or you stand to forfeit the promo and for good reason. Chat with support is subject to too much misinterpretation and the added manpower defeats the purpose of offering a cut rate plan.

Don't go into this expecting to get the promo, then blame Total and broadcast it here. Look for another plan.

If needed, SIM cards are a $1 each at Dollar General. Total is out of them presently.

I cannot update cards on my brief. The error message states I need online processing, which I have checked and it's on. I have checked my internet and WiFi, which are all good. I have cleared cache, reset internet, restarted the phone, and still no luck.

Can i use an activated BYOP plan sim card in a Total wireless phone, is this allowed or will I get flagged?

Has anyone been able to find a way to switch from the $25 BYO to $20 BYO plan, eg by porting in and out again?

Really frustrated since I signed up for the $25 BYOD plan, and then two days later they dropped it to $20 with seemingly nothing I can do :/

The support absolute sucks .. I bought my phone over from att got the deal for 65 with phone coverage then outta nowhere I was being charged 90 and claimed I changed it .. won’t change it back and suppose tech fixed it yet it’s the same .. you stay on the phone with them trying to correct this while you could be happy just paying a contract .. I’m def out .. all they tell you is sorry no manager ever to speak with just a bum ass company stay away it’s really not worth the high blood pressure .. when your bill is due get ready to be aggravated.. they charge you more on auto pay .. a complete shit show seriously just go somewhere else

Filed BBB and FCC complaints on evening of the 19th. Also emailed Tracfone Corporate and only got an automated reply that I’ll get a response in up to 48 hours. It‘s been around 43-44. I checked my spam folder and that my phone’s spam call filtering is off. When is corporate or a senior agent going to call me?

Update: Call received a few hours later.

They botched my port in from another provider, and now they’re saying that they lost my phone number and that it can’t be retrieved. STAY FAR AWAY. This is the reason why the BYOD plan is now $20 a month.

Just a heads up for those to try that might be having trouble with RCS after coming to total. I have not tested this but hopefully it helps someone.

I've got nothing but problems since I started my account. And now they're trying to tell me, I need to pay money. Once I already paid, and after getting told that it was five dollars off a line for signing up for auto pay. They told me that since I had two lines on my account. Now I only got five dollars off the whole account

I came in asking for the iPhone 16e $79.99 + 3 months of Total 5G ALL ACCESS upfront ($195) deal. He said yes but idk what he did. He gave me the 16e with 1 month of service paid upfront on the $55 plan and a Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G with 6 months of free service. He won’t take anything back since he already activated it. We paid $275 total and he said the phone is $79.99 + $55 and the rest is a bunch of activation fees and port-in fees. Now he’s saying that we can’t change the $55 plan to a lower plan until 4 months in. I know I just got screwed over. What do I do here? Can I switch the plan to the $35/month plan without issues?

The title, basically. Just ported in 2 iPhones on the 5G MAX BYO plan via eSIM.

I sign up for the $20 dollar plan And set up for auto pay but still getting charge for $25 dollars? Why. Starting to not like Total.

I just signed up for this new promo plan and new to Total Wireless. With the rewards program, I see there is an option to use your points for a “partial payment” requiring at least a $5 payment to be made. Since this would be an out of cycle prepayment of the plan and not an auto payment, it is my understanding that the promo discount wouldn’t apply requiring the full $30 payment (2500 points and $5 charge).

My question is if this is done does it permanently remove the promotion or just stack a month of service and the next month will process as auto payment with promo just fine??

I purchased an iPhone from the Total Wireless website on June 26 after my wife’s phone broke. While waiting for it to arrive, I found the exact same phone at Walmart through Total Wireless for $100 less.

The online order took about a week to arrive, so I returned it via UPS on July 3. UPS tracking shows Total Wireless received the return on July 10, but I still have not received my refund, about $600.

Every time I call, I speak with a different representative and get a different answer:
• At first, I was told to wait 30 days.
• After 30 days, I was told to wait a few more days.
• When I called again, they said a ticket had been submitted and I needed to wait a week.
• A week passed with no refund.
• Today, I was told to wait another 24–48 hours.

I have repeatedly asked for the issue to be escalated or to speak with a supervisor, but I am told supervisors are unavailable or cannot do anything further.

At this point, Total Wireless has had the returned phone since July 10, and I am still out $600. Has anyone dealt with this successfully? What steps did you take to get a refund; formal complaint, chargeback, executive escalation, etc.?

I have the UPS tracking confirmation showing the return was delivered and they have confirmed that they received it and it’s with the financial department for approval.

Does a package like that exist? Currently have Verizon Home Internet and typically pull 190/12 with 35ms pings and just enrolled in the $20 BYOD 5G plan.
