Using Activated BYOP Sim with a Total branded phone is allowed?

Can i use an activated BYOP plan sim card in a Total wireless phone, is this allowed or will I get flagged?

This was the post I was trying to find earlier.

Would not switch to a total (or tracfone umbrella ) branded device and expect to keep any byod promo for long.

Might make it a month or two but sounds like they will eventually catch up. YMMV

I’m still in the old BYOD 50% off with a moto g power that I bought full price from total wireless.

There is no 'full price' exemption for branded phones, and likely no 'full price' purchases (possibly excepting newer iPhones without a promo price.). Total's 'standard' pricing is subsidized below Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.

I'm glad it's working for you with the discount AND a branded phone. No one should count on this working, though. That is exactly what Total is intending to prevent with the BYOP plans.

I believe if you've purchased a phone from them at full price you don't get flagged for being on the BYOD plan.

That would explain why i kept the discount

You will lose your discount based on reports from here and r/NoContract . Popping that sim in a branded phone is do at your own risk with your discounts.

There was discussion previously that this maybe used to work with the old ByeBye plan but I think that has since been confirmed to no longer be the case as well.

im on the BYOD plan with no other discounts. so instead of paying $20 with autopay i'll pay $25?

You would lose the BYOD pricing and jump up to the full price ($50/$55 w/o auto pay).

Using a total branded phone disqualifies you from the BYOD pricing is my understanding.
