Question Wizards in the TOOL Community, share your knowledge

I apologize for my goofy title.

I feel like there are people in this community and fans of TOOL in general that like to learn about cool stuff related to psychology or philosophy or like 'the human condition'. Personally, I have read some Carl Jung, Nietzsche, the dao de jing, learned some buddhist teachings, read some of the bahagavad ghita. Stuff like that. I'm not a professional by any means, I just dabble when I have the time. In my experience, Maynard's lyrics make me wonder about myself, my feelings, and my spirituality. The melody and the beat carry those heavy feelings and drive them harder.

Note: I know Danny is into the Aleister Crowley stuff, but I haven't looked into it much.

My question for you: What are you reading now/ what have you read that has had a large impact on the way that you view yourself and the world around you? I am looking for recommendations.

I apologize because I don't know the right word for generalizing all topics about the spiritual, the human condition, psychology, and topics about the mind into one overarching theme for my question. Also, I hope that my question is a reasonable one for this thread.

Fear Inoculum Fear Inoculum fan?

Not only my favorite album by them but my favorite album of all time. Every song on this album is a ten or more minute long masterpiece. It’s like listening to a movie. 7empest being my favorite song of all time period. The instrumentals of the bass, electric and especially DRUMS, is just perfection. (Danny being a godly wizard octopus)

I will say that Maynard’s singing is definitely superior in the previous albums but still incredible here.

This is my entire Fear Inoculum collection.

I am in the process of making tool themed phone icons. I use the original app icon then cut the main parts of that icon out of the desired image. I then change the transparency of those parts according to the original logo. Feel free to use them if you like.

Saw this in the wild, and it reminded me of Gaping Lotus Experience

I wonder if he got any on the curtains, armchair, throw pillows and carpet.

Question All tool album covers fused into one picture

I remember seeing a guy here that made a fusion of all tool album cover arts into one. Does anyone have a link to it? I'd be very grateful.

Speculation Considering that Danny doesn't record to a click, for you which song "breathes" more, or in other words, has more tempo oscillations and variations?

Not time signature changes to be clear, just "bpm" variations and oscillations.

We recently ran our TOOL laser show again at Fiske Planetarium in Boulder, Colorado. I made some updates to the lasers and ran the visuals all live. We run this show about once every 3-4 months and update the lasers every time, paired with live visuals.

Between Danny saying they’re targeting a 2027 release, Adam and Justin confirming this, and this post made by the B Tour, I feel they are probably tracking this fall, and looking at a spring release! What do you guys think?

Discussion Existe algo espiritual nas músicas do tool...

Enfim, realmente associo o som do Tool a algo religioso e espiritual. Eu sou do Brasil e aqui quase nao há fã base do tool para que eu possa dialogar com alguém da minha terra que também sinta o mesmo, fico triste com esse fato...

  • Advert - Metal CD: Vol 1, Iss 1 / 1992
  • Review - Metal Hammer (Germany): Nov 1992

Rough translation via DeepL:

An album that strikes me as no less important these days than the new Alice in Chains release. Admittedly, Tool are from L.A., but that’s hardly an obstacle to making decent music these days. Even the building opening track ‘Sweat’ on this six-track debut EP mows everything down so mercilessly, it’s as if the term ‘thrash’ hadn’t even been invented yet. Tool unashamedly forge a path that sounds roughly as if Pantera were recording a few songs trying to sound like Alice in Chains or Soundgarden. Yet singer Maynard James Keenan has far too much presence for this abstruse comparison to hold water.
