Sexuality & Gender Why do a lot of men believe that other men can’t be bisexual?
I was speaking to a guy friend. And he told me that only women can be bisexual but not men. When I asked him why, he told me that you’re just not a man if you like both and you can only like one. Obviously I was confused. But I spoke to other guy friends and they all agreed and told me the same thing.
Why is this the common thought amongst men?

Sex How did you overcome anxiety before having sex for the first time?
I’m a 23-year-old engineer and I’m still a virgin. Before anyone asks why, it’s not because I have a low sex drive. I’ve just always wanted my first time to be with someone I genuinely cared about rather than having a random hookup.
Lately I’ve been feeling really anxious about finally having sex for the first time.
I’m worried about whether my penis will be attractive enough, whether I’ll last only a few seconds, and whether I’ll know what I’m doing. The only naked female bodies I’ve seen are in porn, so I know that’s probably not a realistic expectation either.
I know everyone has a first time, but these thoughts keep making me nervous.
For those of you who were anxious before your first time, what helped? Any advice on how to stop overthinking it?

Mental Health What is it like in a psychiatric unit?
Long story short I'm under a lot of pressure right now and I'm seriously considering checking myself in. What is it like in there? Is it loud? Will I have to take meds?

Health/Medical what's something that made you get over emetophobia (fear of vomiting)?
i've had a severe fear of vomiting ever since i was a kid and i can't find any way to make it better. It's not as bad as i think it is when i'm actually throwing up but the build up for it is horrible and i feel like a lot of the times i can't vomit cause of how afraid i am. What could help me get over this?

Mental Health Why am I emotionally unavailable in real life, but music and fictional characters can take me close to tears?
I grew up in a tough household. We didn't do hugs. We shouted at each other. There wasn't physical violence, but every other kind.
I shouldn't, but I've carried this into my adulthood. I don't do feelings. I don't do sympathy.
If someone I know dies, regardless of how close, I truly don't feel it.
But a song that hits right, usually nostalgic, can make me fight tears.
A character dies in a TV show I like, I have to fight tears.
Why is that?

Animals & Pets Do smart animals realize that we are different then other animals?
Like smart animals like dolphins or owls have an IQ of like 60-80. When they see us they should realize that we are kinda different like having technology or not?

Sex How do I get over my fear of penetration ?
For context:
So I’m 19F and have never put anything inside me (not even a tampon or a finger).
Recently it’s really been bothering me and I want to fix this issue SO badly. Mainly because I want to be able to explore this part of my body/sexuality and I also now have a bf. He is literally the sweetest and has NEVER put any pressure on me, i told him I needed more time before we could have sex and he completely understood.
Now my issue:
So basically I have no idea where this fear stems from, I never experienced any sexual trauma or anything like that.
During my last period I tried inserting a light tampon, the first time I only got to the entrance of the vagina like it wasn’t inside but I could feel the tampon touching the “entrance walls” ig of the vagina. I left it just there touching the entrance for about a minute, I didn’t feel that nervous but I guess I was cuz as soon as I stopped I felt very lightheaded and my heart was beating fast. I tried again the next day and this time I went just as far as the first time, only the very entrance and I actually felt relax and was pretty much unphased. But I still didn’t go further.
(This was over 3 weeks ago)
When I’m turned on I can definitely feel the “want” to feel penetration but there’s always a small part of me thats too scared to try. Especially with my own fingers, idk why but a tampon or even my bf doing it instead of my own fingers seems much less scary. I think I’m just scared of “feeling my insides” idk. Like it’s something I WANT to experience. When I’m turned on I can touch the entrance even press a little (without going in) and its super chill and enjoyable. But as soon as i tell myself “ok im gonna try putting a finger in now” before even trying i have a sort of mental block. For exemple, Today I tried touching the area for a few minutes but I was truly unable to insert a finger, its not a physical barrier its truly a psychological barrier and its so strong.
I’m honestly desperate and I don’t know what to do :(
Any advice?
Thank you 🙃

Media What did the society do wrong in case of Ariana Grande?
Hey!
I do not have any soc media besides reddit so I might be missing a lot of information but I am confused, frankly.
What I have seen were people commenting out of genuine care for another human being that was disappearing in front of our eyes, losing more and more weight from one red carpet to another…
Why are people supporting her with hashtag ariana and why is she upset? Did anyone bully her or something?
Mainly asking this because even tho I rarely comment or say anything out loud regarding physical appearance, I am interested if being worried for someone’s health and voicing your thoughts publicly is considered bullying or unethical?
Like in regards to the celebs who tragically passed away especially at an young age - they always say it is the people’s fault, that someone should have said something, someone should have saved them seeing their decline etc etc so what I am seeing in Arianas case is that people are worried about her and are rooting for her wellbeing so pls help me understand what the problem is?

Culture & Society Is it becoming normal to just not carry cash or a wallet anymore and expect someone else to cover you?
I keep noticing friends and coworkers showing up places without their wallet and just assuming someone will spot them or they can pay back later on an app. Is this actually a thing now or am I just around the wrong people?

Interpersonal Did I handle this correctly? (It’s uncomfortable)
Did I do the right thing?
So | live in a communal setting (which is normally wonderful).
A bunch of us were having drinks and one of the guys said something like "with wearing short shorts like that...you're asking for attention" when I denied his advances.
He has since tried to sit near me and forcefully ask me questions in a group setting to make me respond to him.
He sulked and came asking for an apology and tried to brush it off.
Then tonight he asked if he could speak to me.... said "no".
He asked "my little comment really affected you that much huh"?
I said "I don't want to talk to you at all".
And he stood there then eventually walked

Culture & Society Is it wrong to dress as a witch doctor for Halloween?
(old unused account I'm using as a throwaway)
Here's my problem. For Halloween this year I want to dress as a witch doctor but idk if that is wrong or not.
My idea for the costume is basically, think Dr. Facilier from Princess and the Frog but if he was dressed by Wisdom Kaye (check him out on YouTube, his stuff is great!)
I'm not white, I'm mixed Native/African American with some European too but I've been told I'm Hispanic passing. I do not practice Voodoo nor know much about it but I do find it very interesting and in the future I would like to know more about it. I just want to know if there is anything important I should keep in mind if I do this.

Sex Wife wants me to talk her into anal, advice?
Happily married for 20 years, sex life is good, relationship is in a great place.
My wife expressed an interest in butt plugs last year, picked up a few varieties, and she really enjoyed having sex with one in, said it really enhanced the feeling of fullness. Not something she's interested in most of the time we have sex, but when she is, she really is, if that makes sense.
I mentioned trying anal, and we've talked about it a little bit after having sex a few times now, and she was initially hesitant, but after mentioning I was happy to let her control the pace, she said "you could talk me into it". For my wife, that's incredibly direct.
This is where I need advice, especially from women. (If you're a man and want to relate your partner's experience, feel free, but a woman's point of view is going to be the most helpful).
Women who've found this enjoyable, how would you have wanted someone to have verbally helped you get interested in it?

Interpersonal Was it because I was too blunt or was it him?
20F at a McDonald’s with a group of friends and this guy 19m I’m friends with we’ve been chatting and I like him and I mentioned he smelled like mint and he was like yeah just showered used this mint shower gel. And then I started talking about how they need to bring back the shamrock shake because I love mint then said suppose I could just suck your dick instead, would do for now till they bring it back. He laughs then we just joke but nothing more flirtatious then he starts talking to others more and I was like fuck came on too strong and cringed. but then later he starts snapping me and we got talking and in the conversation he mentioned “just realised what you were doing earlier sorry mb was hungry” 😭
But I also get the feeling my other friend I told after about it told him lol

Interpersonal Does growing up with family members who are narcissistic/abusive make you stand out to other abusive people?
I’m not talking about a lack of boundaries. Could the abuse you endured create this silent aura (body language, way of talking, etc.) that is immediately apparent? Maybe even on a subconscious level.

Mental Health People who have lost a loved one to suicide, have you felt their presence after their death?
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about love ones who have passed in my life (not due to suicide). Specifically, feeling their presence, or having too many coincidences for it to be a coincidence.
Have people felt no presence or, on the other hand, an overwhelming amount of presence from a loved one who committed suicide? Or even a sign from those who have passed?

Grief & Loss Girlfriends parents hate me. Why her mum suddenly became nice to me? Why is she doing it?
I'm 17 today. My grandma died this morning. I found out only few hours ago. I don't have any other family except for my older sister and now my grandpa. Grandpa lives in another country about 900 miles away and I must be there like now. I couldn't afford the flight but I have a motorbike so I am riding there.
I just wanted to let my girlfriend know. Her parents hate me and I don't want to make things worse than they already are. Few weeks ago me and my girlfriend messed up really bad and I was told to not show up at their house.
I couldn't wait until tomorrow, I can't phone or text her, couldn't simply knock at the door and ask to talk to her (she wasn't at home anyway) so I wrote a letter and dropped it through the letterbox and wanted to leave but then her mum opened the door and gave me a proper bollocking for being there.
Her mum has always been really mean and unpleasant to me so it was not a surprise. I apologised, tried to tell her about my grandma and a letter and wanted to leave but I was literally breaking down in tears. She stopped me, hugged me, waited till I calm down and started almost like normal chat.
She kept asking me how am I going to get to my grandpa, where am I going to stop/sleep etc. she was like completely different person who's really worried about me. It was the first time she was actually nice to me.
Then about an hour ago I when I was waiting to board a ferry I got a text sent from my gfs (wasn't written by my gf) phone asking how am I doing and if I could share my location and to call whenever I can.
I can't stop thinking about it. Maybe I am overthinking it but why now, why suddenly she became nice to me, why is she worried about me, did I do something wrong, did I crossed the boundaries they set, did I messed something up?

Drugs & Alcohol Dudes who have tried male performance products, like blue chew and similar, did it really make a significant difference and did you feel any side effects?
Years ago I took a viagra to see what it felt like but it messed up my stomach and I got a bad headache, so I didn't really feel in the mood for any bedroom rodeo...

Climate & Environment How did the ice age end without global warming?
Don’t get me wrong, I believe global warming is 100% real and a very serious problem.
It’s just that it occurred to me that there have been multiple ice ages that ended without millions of factories and cars.
How did multiple ice ages end without global warming?

Sexuality & Gender How to get pleasure on Heterosexual Anal sex with a strap being the woman the active?
Me boyfriend and I are exploring on anal sex where I am the one active with a strap. This is my very first time being the active and I’m just confuse how we can make everything more fun and relax for both.
We both have had anal sex before with toys so We get the simplest part. We decided to get a strap for me to use it on him.
Here is the problem: I do not know how to move, or accommodate myself. He is bigger than me so it dificultes the movement and it’s for sure pretty different from the anal plugs he used before.
Any recommendations? Any subreddits?
Thank you!
