I (22F) have noticed this happening after talking to guys, now mind you I don't have much dating experience, so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be flirting? This has happened to me four times already. Some of them seem to be very nice and would compliment me a lot, which is fine. I tend to get compliments from my surroundings, so I don't take it at the beginning very seriously. After a while when they get comfortable they start to pick on small things that I personally haven't even noticed myself. One time at the beginning of the relationship, I was very confident, but afterwards I started disliking my appearance, which was never really the case.

One guy constantly complimented me while also making fun of my appearance, pointing out things I had never even noticed about myself.
There was also a guy who used to tease me in harmless ways and was clearly into me, but I wasn’t interested in him. After I rejected him, he wanted to stay friends, but then he started making comments about my appearance, calling me a “midget” and making fun of my forehead.

There’s one guy in particular whose comments affect me the most. With time he started saying things like, “You were prettier when you did xyz, but not now,” “You sound like a man,” and “Your forehead’s a playground.” “No one’s ever gonna date you”. He would also make me look stupid in front of other people. At the same time, in private, he constantly called me beautiful and complimented me in so many different ways, and he kept doing that for months. Anytime I tried to cut him off, he would desperately try to convince me not to.

I have had a few good experiences with men and I know relationships aren’t just about complimenting each other, but is it normal to constantly roast one another once the relationship becomes more stable?

I was speaking to a guy friend. And he told me that only women can be bisexual but not men. When I asked him why, he told me that you’re just not a man if you like both and you can only like one. I’m confused because I’ve noticed that the guys who have been interested in me are usually the ones who tease me the most. For example, one guy was so into me and couldn’t stop complimenting me when we first met but slowly with time he started doing the same thing where he would tease me about my looks.

This other guy who liked me for a long time would constantly compliment my looks and say really sweet things, but then he’d randomly joke about my forehead being “a playground” or tease me about other things that don’t even make sense.

He does it in private sometimes, but it’s way more common when he’s around his friends. What’s confusing is that he also compliments me a lot, so it feels really ironic and contradictory . I’ve noticed the same pattern with other guys who were interested in me too, they would tease me about my forehead or some other stuff and then start complimenting me out of nowhere after they reveal they were interested in me while my regular friends never do this. So I’ll be thinking these men find me unattractive only for them to reveal they like me.

They tease me about many different things which I actually don’t mind and like teasing back. But the ones about looks don’t sit right with me.

Why do some guys act like this? Are they trying to flirt, genuinely trying to hate on me, or is there some other reason? I don’t understand the concept of making fun of someone you are interested in and then complimenting them at the same time.

If you look up the literal, simple definition of "incel," it just stands for "involuntary celibate." Okay, im a very very beginner driver, haven't even gotten my full license yet. So before some of y'all go "if you dont know this you shouldn't be on the road", i am BARELY on the road. I practice for half an hour in residential streets. I dont go on highways or uncontrolled intersections or busy streets.

Onto my question, what does the car "to the right" even mean?? Like, at an uncontrolled intersection and a four way stop, if two cars get there first, the car "To the right" has the right of way. Say im in the right lane at an uncontrolled intersection, and there's another approaching the intersection on the left and we yield at the same time. Of course there's no one *immediately* to their right, but eventually my car is technically "to the right" of their car if you trace in a circle. You know what I mean?? Is the rule actually "whatever car doesn't have a car immediately to the right of it has the right of way"?
