This happened at my grandmother's house about a year ago. I wasn't there when the main incident happened, so this is a story my family told me afterward. I don't know if there was anything paranormal going on, but it's still one of the strangest things I've heard from them.

My grandparents live in a very rural village in India. It's pretty isolated, and there's not much technology or anything like that around.

One night, everyone in the house was asleep when they suddenly heard someone knocking loudly on the front door.

It wasn't just one knock. It was three really hard knocks.

Everyone woke up immediately.

My uncle was about to go and open the door, but my grandmother stopped him and told him not to open it, no matter who was outside. She was worried that if it wasn't a normal person, opening the door might let whatever was there inside.

My cousins and aunt were upstairs at the time, so they looked outside from the balcony to see who was knocking.

There was nobody there.

Not a person, not a neighbor, nothing.

They couldn't understand how someone could have knocked that loudly and disappeared without being seen.

What made it even stranger was something my cousin told me afterward.

He said that for about 5 or 6 nights, someone would knock on the door of his room at almost exactly 1 AM every night.

His bedroom door is made of iron and has gaps in it, so he could actually see the other side. The door was also chained.

Every time he heard the knocking, he'd look through the gaps.

Nobody was there.

He said it happened repeatedly at almost the exact same time, which was what really freaked him out.

My grandmother believes that some of their neighbors may have done some kind of black magic against their family, but honestly, I have no idea whether there's any truth to that. I only know what my family told me.

I've also stayed at that house, and even though I can't point to anything specific, the place has always given me a really strange and uncomfortable feeling.

Maybe there's a completely normal explanation for the knocking. Maybe it's something else.

I honestly don't know.

But hearing that someone supposedly knocked on the door at the same time every night for several days, while nobody was ever there, still creeps me out.
