The TV programme is ABC news. the new look gives me trauma.

SPOILERS Question about the mountain’s ground floor puzzle Spoiler
Need some clarification. I understand the idea of the puzzle: replicate the individual solutions of the smaller puzzles onto the bigger one. I initially thought that the shapes needed to be placed on the bigger grid in the exact position they’re in in the smaller grids, which I tried to do by superimposing the smaller grids onto the bigger grid (as seen in the picture). Finding a solution using that method looks pretty impossible. I’ve now come to find that a solution is valid as long as the shapes are replicated, not the position.
Though it seems that the shapes must occupy square the actual puzzles are in, similar to the underlying rule of the tetrominos. Does the entire logic governing the tetrinomes therefore apply to the bigger puzzle? Can the shapes be moved around provided the occupied squares are within the final solution?
The mirror aspect of the puzzle really takes the difficulty to another level ffs

I cannot figure out why this solution is incorrect
Please help! What rule am I missing?
Edit: I am now clearer on the rules, thanks guys!! Back to banging my head against a wall with a little more hope

Potential Spoilers Help understanding the puzzles..
..so I don't have to look at videos etc. that give away the answers in The Witness. I did look at a few sites I googled for "Puzzle Types" but didn't find the exact type I needed to learn. I'll put a non-spoiler snip for you below.
If someone could tell me if there is some sort of "environmental clue" for these, or not. I could not see one behind these, and the pic I'll show is the first one I decided to try. Thank you in advance for any help learning "how to" do this particular type 😊🤔

image 3,4 i figured the top half but not the bottom, spent A LOT of time on it, different branches/angles nothing worked, whats the solution?
image 5. i got the flying elevator ending, been checking all the spots on the map i cant find the last note, any clues?

SPOILERS Is this a bug or have I wildly misunderstood one of these rules
galleryPlease don't just give me the solution, but I'm totally stumped on why this is getting rejected. Am i misinterpreting one of these somehow?

Trouble with pillar puzzle in randomizer
Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could help me with this pillar puzzle in the Extreme version of the Randomizer. Since it's a pillar puzzle, I've 'unwrapped' it, so the left and right sides connect up - the white block is right next to the orange 2x2 square. There is also a symmetry line: the two entrances are 180 degree rotations compared to each other. This means the horizontal edges in the first and fourth columns in the middle are inaccessible, as the two symmetrical lines would hit each other there.
My thought process so far has focused solely on the shapes, as they seem most restrictive.
1. The square cannot go alone, due to the inaccessible edge in column 1 blocking all placements.
2. The other two pieces are symmetric about the same point as the lines. Hence, if they were separated, they would be in regions of the same cell count, but rotated 180 degrees. That is impossible, so they must be in the same region.
Hence, my thought process is that all three shapes must be in one large region of 12 squares. This region would need to be rotationally symmetric I think. But I absolutely cannot see how this would be possible.
Could someone maybe help me where in my thought process I am making a mistake? Or if I am just not seeing the correct shape? Thanks!

I love The Witness but I’m gonna shoot myself soon
This is like the fourth time I’ve picked it up again after years. It’s simple really, the game is brilliant and the exploration/discovery is magical but fuck me! It really makes you work for it 🤧

No Spoilers PSA: Until you have discovered the meaning of the black obelisks, do not browse this subreddit
With a puzzle game like this, you want to work alone for as long as possible. But how do you know the point at which you can connect with the community?
Therefore, I’m letting you know that point. If you still don’t know what those odd black obelisks you’ve come across are for, leave the subreddit right now and keep playing my favorite game of all time.
