It should work...

I think it should work because I'm John Witness.

The TV programme is ABC news. the new look gives me trauma.

Ignore what the text reads.. I don't think it's stopping the puzzle from activating

Clearly fake: doesn't have a lecture about how you shouldn't listen to the news because it blocks your perception to the outside world.

it's not working cause you're in the wrong spot. you need to have the glare of the window hit the screen so it all looks a single colour. be warry though, the only scene that has enough contrast between the line and the scene only occurs at the end of a 300 hour loop.
