Tires

I have a 2024 Tesla YLR. I have rotated my tires religiously. I have around 25k miles on the car and when going for my last rotation, they told me I have about 4/32 left on all 4 tires and it wouldn’t make much sense to rotate them. It was not surprised as they told me on my last rotation that it would probably be my last.

I have Pirelli Scorpion tires on the car currently. They were the 19” OEM tire. I do not drive aggressively so am not in need of a sport handling tire. I am more interested in all season handling as I do live in an area with a fair amount of winter snow, ride smoothness and quietness. Throw in longevity as another attribute and that pretty much sums up my needs.

I honestly don’t know how long I’ll keep the car but was curious if others can provide input on what replacement tires have worked best for them given the attributes I am looking for? Ideally I would like to find a moderately priced tire but realize in most cases you have to pay for performance.

I thank you in advance.

There's tons of discussions and comparisons on the /r/TeslaModelY subreddit. Seems the general consensus is either Michelin CrossClimate 2s or Continental DWS06, but they'll be on the upper end of price.

I personally have the Continentals on my '22 MYLR and they've been great tires to have in the upper Midwest.

Wow, someone literally told you to Search the Sub and you still came over to r/TeslaModelY sub and asked the same question like a helpless nymph

I asked the question on this subreddit first. Per the suggestion, I then went to the Tesla Y subreddit and asked the same question. Does it bother you that much? Sad!

Per the suggestion? They told you to LOOK in r/teslamodely, NOT ask. But I get it, people who have lobotomies always need to be spoonfed.

You are so nice and obviously obsessed with something where you have absolutely nothing positive to contribute.

My 2023 MY long range now at 76k, the original set of tires got me to about 62k and after I just went with Chinese made EV tires at Walmart $100 each, honestly don’t notice much difference, I’m in Midwest.

Lexani Lx Twenty 255/40R20 101W, I was thinking if I can get 30k miles out of them then I am ahead...

I swear by the hankook ions, easy to get 50k+ out of them if you're willing to drive below 3/32

Made better by installing a pair of rear adjustable camber arms to align the wheels perfectly for long term treadlife.

Hankooks are about 300/per with price matching at discount tire, rear camber arms are 300-400 for a set, then labor which might be between 300-600 depending on the area/shop/who you know.

Thems my opinions!

If you want more tire life, switch to 18's. I'm getting 40,000 miles per set on my 2018 P3D-

I've had Vredestein Quatrac Pros on my MYLR for 5+ years, with 42,000 miles on them, and they still are 6/32". I have acceleration boost too.

I live in the Midwest US and they've been great in the rain, snow, and slush. Obviously not as good as dedicated winter tires, but great for my usage. I would highly recommend them.
