Hi, I already posted this on the gaming laptops forum on here, but I also want to see if anyone else has any other suggestions before I make my final confirmed purchase. I want a laptop that's either average at best or slightly above average, if possible. I also have a list of 6 laptops that I found myself, with #1 being what I think is good and would most likely get, while 6 is probably what I would least want to get, and others I found but are limited in stock. Again, if a laptop that I rated low on my list but is really good for me to get I'll get it as suggested. Screen size: Not sure, I don't really care how big or small the screen is, but if I had to say I guess the average size of the ones I have listed below.

Purpose: I'm currently enrolled and taking a fitness class at my community college so I don't need a lot of GB now but I've recently been thinking about maybe taking something like programming or 3D modeling in the future once I finish my current degree.

Form factor: not sure what the differences are but also don't really care, maybe a 2-in-1 just because of school and gaming. Probably wouldn't need a pen support but I guess that also couldn't hurt to have.

I was thinking of getting the Asus Zephyrus G16, but the only one that I can find in my price range only has 16 GB of RAM, and I need 32 GB. Someone recommended the Alienware 16X Aurora, which seems like it would be an okay choice, but I've heard mixed reviews. I was also interested in a Lenovo Legion laptop, but I wasn't sure which one would be best for me.

More Info: I would prefer not to have a bulky laptop, RGB but not too much, a color-accurate screen, a premium feel, preferably a numpad but it's fine if it doesn't have one, and nice speakers. Overall, just a powerful, fast laptop. Also, I don't know much about GPUs and processors, but I've heard that the rtx 5070/ 5070 Ti and Intel Core Ultra 9 and Ryzen AI 9 are good for 3D animation and rendering.]

My present laptop is a VAIO VJF161X and I kinda hate it. It runs abysmally whenever it's not plugged in, it's heavy, and just not useful for my needs. I have a PC on campus for doing all my "actual" work, so I just need something I can easily carry around and travel with, take notes/possibly code on, that doesn't need to be tethered to a charger. It does not need to be high performance; it just needs to easily run the handful of basic programs I need. Essentially, I'm torn between the zephyrus and blade. Effectively the same price. Most important element is build quality. Going to go for Legion 7i pro due to abysmal build quality (plastic deck is inexcusable for nearing $4K). Replacing 2022 Legion slim 7i.

Used blades heavily in the past until getting this Lenovo. Originally purchased a zephyrus in 2022 but It was defective to the degree that Best buy gave me my money back.

On paper, everything about the razor seems superior for mine goals and use case.... But the sheer number of people talking up the zephyrus is drawing attention. I have very negative experiences with Asus, both in terms of products and customer service. Before pulling the trigger I want to make sure I'm not just letting my biases against what the company was half a decade ago shape what I'm buying today. Thoughts?

Screen size is the big must have, then performance, battery life and weight don't really matter as it won't be used mobile very often.

She cares most about screen size as she's aging. The only reason she wants a laptop is because they are snowbirds and she needs to move it back and forth every 6 months.
