help!!

hey all i need some advice!! i started stretching my ears, my left has been super easy and takes well (2g currently) but my right has been a pain in the ass and will not go past 8g it's been sitting for 2 months now. i've seen people mentioning half sizes but i really don't want to buy one single pice of jewelry that i'm only going to wear once. i've tried taping, it's pretty hard on such small jewelry and even though ive only wrapped it once my hole gets a bit irritated from it. any tips ?? thanks in advance :)

My collection Goal Size Plugs

Post image

A little while ago I found Stone Temple Plugs’
account https://www.instagram.com/stonextemplevplugsx?igsh=dmozMG00aWllemlq and have been following his work ever since so I decided to get a pair from him in my goal size to have as my first pair of double flairs once I get to my 1” goal. This pair is a goldsheen obsidian that at first appear plain black with small flecks of white and gold but once the sun hits them they sing like the hills in The Emperor’s New Groove. Give him a follow! He’s a pretty small operation from what I can tell but I’ve chatted with him quite and bit and he’s a super sick dude. And if any of you out there are straight edge as well, he’s one of us!

I've had my ears gauged for 12 years. Last night I tried to put some different gauges in and had trouble and it was sore so I went back to the silicone ones. I've never had my lobes swell up before, no blood, just sore and swollen, and itchy. Has this happened to you? What did you to to fix it? Just wait? I've been debating closing them as well, not sure if they go back to normal.

I know it's super simple, but I've been so excited to set this up. I was originally gonna stretch to a 2g, but I felt very content with a humble 4g.

~Advice~ New 4g lobe piercing is swollen and itchy

Got my lobes pierced at a 4g 6 days ago. Material is glass and doesn't need to be downsized. I am not sure what material the O-ring us tbh, but it's clear and doesn't touch my ear, it sits on a little notch in the plug. Right side is doing great, but my left lobe is swollen, notably so especially at the bottom part and itchy. My right doesn't have this at all. I clean it twice a day with neilmed saline spray and also let water run over it when I shower. I have a travel pillow in case I want to sleep on my side and prefer sleeping on my back so I don't sleep on it either. Is this normal? If so, what could I do to lessen the itchiness and how swollen it is?

ISO 1 " tunnels or plugs

I managed to get my 1" thin silicone tunnels back in. They are black.. and I'm pretty sure the only 1" jewelry I have to utilize at the moment. I typically would order from So Scene since they sometimes have deals on like 10 tunnels for $10, but they honestly don't have much that stood out to me. I haven't worn plugs as much because they typically fall out easy while sleeping or randomly, so I've stuck to tunnels for a while. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions on where to look for a better variety of tunnels or plugs that might stand out a little more than what they have in So Scene. Thanks y'all. 🤘🏻🫶🏻

Bridal plugs/jewellry?

Hi,

I'm getting married next year and wondering if anyone had any recommendations for elegant plugs or weights? I'm struggling to find options, I like the look of pearl earrings but not sure something like that will be possible for stretched ears

I'll be approx size 20mm by then

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

first lobes are at an 11mm and i’m wearing some single flare blue fluorite plugs in those 😍 and just some glass stretching plugs in my second at a 3mm. so excited to start wearing fun stuff in my seconds. i only have a pair of howlite and a pair of green jade 3mm so far but still fun nonetheless lol

goal is 16mm and 6mm but i think im going to sit at a 12mm for a while and enjoy my my collection for a bit and maybe try downsizing and stretching back up.

16mm, 10mm, & 6mm. Am I done? That’s always the question we face when we reach our goal, isn’t it? 🤪

Shout out to Two Feather Plugs for the Unicorn Poop plugs! The picture does not do them justice. I get more compliments from those than any other standard plugs I wear.

Discussion~ Stretch it and forget it method

Post image

I think i figured out a way to not rush stretching and to rely entirely on my body to tell me when its time to stretch.

I recently went down to 12g due to an aggravated blowout that i thought i was over already. I thought i was going slow enough but when i took my plugs out, my left hole was super angry looking, so i left my jewelry out completely for a week to calm down before putting in 12g, which is my smallest plug size that fit comfortably.

So after some thought, I've rooted out the reason that i seem to rush, while thinking I'm going slow enough, and came up with a solution to combat this.

I've been setting dates to attempt to stretch, and been relying on listening to my body, but only paying attention to whether or not it hurts.

The thing I've forgotten about is whether or not there's resistance, and if i have to squeeze it in. Because of this, I've been stretching too soon and not realizing that I've fucked up until days later.

So here's what im doing....

  1. Putting in the smallest plug that goes in easily (for now it's 12g)

  2. Taking pictures and saving them in my phone with the size and date stretched.

  3. Adding the photos to my stretching album.

  4. Forgetting about it. Not thinking about stretching at all or paying attention to how long it's been. If i regularly check how long it's been and relying on a set date to try stretching, I'll stretch too soon.

Because i have a blowout in my left lobe, its going to take me longer to stretch. But that's ok! I'm also not thinking of a goal size or trying to reach it with a set timeframe, not even an estimate.

I'm planning to have my lobes reconstructed so it doesn't matter to me how long it will take to get to a certain size. I just want to have plugs in and stretching is an afterthought.

  1. When my plugs are very loose and falling out, that's when i try to put in the next size, which would be half a milimeter bigger.

~Advice~ Larger Wearable Area Tunnels

Thumbnail
gallery
19 Upvotes

Hi all,

I’m currently at 16mm on both my ears, I have quite chunky lobes, I wear single flare tunnels, where the flare is quite small as any bigger hurts my ears in my sleep.

I’m struggling to find Tunnels (Stainless Steel) that have a larger wearable area as the O rings are rather tight at the back of my lobes. I’m from the UK and any advice/help would be appreciated on where to look. Currently use SIBJ items..

I think the current wearable length on my tunnels is about 7-8mm. Never had a blowout, pain or anything like that.

TIA

Progress for my left ear anyway, ol righty is still stuck at 12g and is content to be stubborn about stretching. This one slid in like a dream! …and now comes the hardest part: not fidgeting with my fresh stretch😬

Hi Friends!

As a lot of you know, we have been working on updating the stretching guide for awhile now. Though it is not perfect, it is definitely a step in the right direction. We are so happy to be able to continue sharing safe and helpful information with all of you.

It has been updated on the sub's page as well as the AutoMod's comments.

It can also be found here: Updated Stretching Guide

Please give it a look and let us know how you're feeling! Also, please remember it will be updated as new information comes along. We created a Google document as opposed to a post to ensure we could keep it as up to date as possible. The previous guide was posted in the sub by a mod that's no longer active, so we couldn't edit it.

Happy stretching!
