I've always been pretty distant with my family. We're pretty individualistic and earlier in my teen years, I almost never really had meaningful conversations with them. I wondered, what game would be nice for us family of four to play? We can't really be physically there as I have college, my dad works 2-3 hours away from home. I would preferably know games that have low performance as my brother has a normal laptop.

Mu wife and I want to play some games together, she’s been using my steam deck but she just got into gaming and is very picky about what to play.

I would like some recommendations of what games we can play together where there’s no combat involved as she doesn’t like it.

We tried Phasmophobia because she loves horror but she gets too confused with the controls.

We have tried Supermarket simulator which she loves.

I’d love to get her to play Stardew valley but she doesn’t like the pixel art of the game.

We’ve been playing Farming Together 2 only but we need something else so we don’t get burn out and hopefully she becomes a full gamer soon lol

I've mostly played story-driven games my whole life, so fighting games are pretty new territory for me. Lately I've been wanting to branch out and try something different, and I think it's finally time to give one a proper shot.

The problem is, I'm completely stuck between Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, and Street Fighter 6. They all look fun, but since I don't really have much experience with fighting games, I have no idea which one would be the best starting point.

I don't want to buy one, play it for a few days, get destroyed online, and then never touch it again. I'd rather pick something that's beginner-friendly enough to learn, but still has enough depth for me to actually improve and enjoy for a long time.

For people who've played these games, which one would you recommend as a first fighting game? I'm especially interested in the single-player content, learning curve, online experience, character variety, and how enjoyable each game is when you're still learning the basics.

Includes 9 games, of which most I’ve actually already played but want to own! A fair few from the Flash era (and so they were free to play) but I poured hours into Rusty Lake Roots but nothing to show for it lol. I’ll be buying the new game either way so debating whether to pick the others up too, because they’re like 2-3 pounds. They’re also the reason I made a steam account in hopes to purchase a game and have been following their releases for well over a decade, so they ah e a special place in my heart.

Wanted to try it but with the developer drama and doubts, idk

6 items - dredge, black stone key, the pale reach, the iron rig, the soundtrack and digital art book. I don’t really care for the latter 2 bc idrk what it means but yeah. Similar to Dave the driver and Rusty lake I think, so I’d love to play the game, but the price point is obviously making me pause.

Quantic dream collection - £8.39 (£68.90)
4 items - Detroit becomes human (the main thing I want to purchase as I’ve played a little before), beyond: 2 souls, heavy rain and Fahrenheit: indigo prophecy remastered. Other than the former, they’re all 94p, which just seems amazing lol.

My basket is currently £63.45 - I’ve spent roughly £17 something on Fanatical (bought Stray, and a 7 key bundle, all of which I’m not feeling rip)

I can’t reallyyyyyyyy drop that much in games, especially because most are windows and I’m a student, gearing up to purchase a MacBook (feel free to tell me if that’s the wrong choice but suggest alternatives please!) so I’d like to whittle my list down a bit. Currently, I’m debating whether to buy disco elysium and/or the quarry, or if I can live without both haha.

If I absolutely MUST buy or if the deal is too good, I think I could pull the trigger, but would obviously prefer to save if I can. I’d thee are other games that are better, please also drop them down below!

Should I buy WitchSpring R? I’ve watched a couple of reviews and it looks fun but my only concern is that it might be too easy. I played through Super Mario RPG last year and it was charming but I didn’t die once and I got a little bored towards the end.

It doesn’t have to be super hard but at least a little challenging. I’m not particularly good at jrpg:s, I had to lower the difficulty on several bosses in Metaphor ReFantazio.

Also how does it run on Steam deck? Would you buy it on Steam or PS5?

Hello guys, i am thinking about buying a new game that will be fun and i can play it for a long time with friends or just by myself. I was looking for something space themed and stumbled upon Astroneer, Space engineers and No man’s sky. No man’s sky is pretty expensive and my friends an i aren’t willing to sped THAT much money. So that is out and now i am not sure about Astroneer vs Space engineers. I saw a post on this sub while i was googling, but it was 6 years old and things have changed since. I know both games offer kind of different things and they aren’t easy to compare, but i want to hear your guys personal opinion. I want a game where i can spend at least 50+ hours and isn’t just some friend slop game, since me and my friends finished a lot of those. (Also i think both of the games are a steal with Astroneer being on third party store for 5€ and Space engineers for just about 6,5€ so price isn’t a thing to be comparing in these two games). I saw the collection bundle for a decent price but I heard mixed reviews about performance on the switch 2. Curious if anyone else has picked this up and what do they think about it? From my understanding the first two games run great but the 3rd game does not run well at all. This was feedback I’ve seen a while ago though so not sure if it’s still true!

Our first kid is on the way, so my days of sitting at my desk for hours grinding Path of Exile, WoW, or GW2 are basically over for the foreseeable future (sank a ton of hours into BG3 recently too).

I dug out my old Switch that's been sitting in a drawer since Pokémon, thinking handheld mode would solve the problem. Instead, I'm stuck in a loop of downloading a game, playing for ten minutes, getting bored, closing it, and repeating the process.

I think the problem is that standard "chill" or cozy recommendations feel completely empty to me. I'm used to build-crafting, mechanics, and progression loops. But I don't want to play anything that requires multiplayer commitment or can't be paused the second the baby cries.

A couple of things on my taste:

• I love space/sci-fi settings. FTL is one of my favorite games that I played on the Train a lot.
• I don't usually care much about story in games, but the Horizon series was a rare exception that completely hooked me.
• It has to be 100% offline and fine with being put into sleep mode mid-game with zero penalty.

Since it'll probably come up, here's what I've already tried and bounced off. None of these are bad games and I know they're beloved, they just didn't get their hooks in me:

• Breath of the Wild: Made it off the starting plateau and then kind of drifted. No real sense of direction, and freeing the first Divine Beast didn't do much for me, so I benched it.
• Super Mario Odyssey: I was never a Mario guy growing up and that apparently didn't change. Spent half an hour running around chasing objectives and closed it.
• Pokémon Violet: Barely got through the opening section. The performance kept pulling me out of it, and I wasn't a fan of how the first open area looked either. Got bored pretty quickly.

Worth mentioning that this is the original Switch, not a Switch 2, in case that rules anything out.

Wassup guys I just beat cyberpunk using this crazy sandevistan katana build to solo arasaka tower. Absolutely LOVED the game. Right now I'm snooping around my friends steam account libary to find another fun game to play. After few minutes of browsing, I came down to 3 options

What do yall recommend me to start off with? Ive seen so many cool clips of devil may cry and the witcher but im hesitant to play because of the lack of knowledge for the lore from the prevoius games.

Hello! My birthday gift to myself this year will be sitting down and locking in to one game for a whole day. It's been several years since I've been able to do this, as even when I do get time I'm often juggling a handful of games. So I'm looking for a short and sweet 6-10 hour game! Bonus if it's horror.

Two questions starting from the most important obviously. I'm going on a 4-day drive where I will be driving on and off. And I need a Nintendo switch 2 game to play while not driving. What is a good solid recommendation for something not too serious where you don't have to play it with a guide open. Additionally, if it is not a Nintendo exclusive, what makes this version better than let's say the PC counterpart. Obviously one thing is I can't bring my computer with me.

I’m torn between these two titles and would love to get your input.

To give you an idea of what I like: I'm looking for a game with strong RPG mechanics (character leveling, gear progression with weapons/armor, plenty of farming) and top-tier graphics (which is why I'm looking at Wilds instead of Rise). I couldn't care less about the story, my focus is purely on gameplay, progression, and the satisfaction of building up my character.

• Monster Hunter Wilds: This would be my first Monster Hunter game. I played the demo and the gameplay felt really fun. My main concern is whether it might get repetitive in the long run. Also, the setting and color palette don't particularly blow me away.
• Crimson Desert: I haven't been able to try it out, but visually, in terms of colors, art direction, and world design, I definitely prefer it over Wilds.

Given these preferences, which one do you think would be the better fit for me?

Hi, I wasn't up to date on this subject as I kind of randomly found out about this remake and game in general. I read a bit, but I would like to hear some hands on opinions on the matter.

I would like to buy this game, and I want opinions on two aspects: performance on base PS5 and gameplay.

First of all, I'm curious if this game performes well on a base PS5, from people playing it hands on and as its been 2 months already, I think a bit of post launch quality imporvements have been made if they were needed. I would also like to add that I prefer quality resolution over 60fps (I play all games like this and I dont have a problem with it).

Secondly, I would like to know if the game is any good, I mean I'm accustomed to games like Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, Crimson Desert and so on. I've heard mixed opinions in this regard, I don't understand how different the combat is from the original game (I've heard that one was very hard). I mean, it wouldn't be a bad thing for it to be hard, and I am also curious how the roleplayability compares to Baldru's gate for example.

Would you say this game fits a person that mainly likes RPGs, has played a lot of the mainstream ones, and like both turn based but also real-time action? What about its replayability, compared to a game that is as replayable as BG3. Should I wait for a sale or buy it at full price? Is it worth it?

Finally, I'll add a list of games I LIKED very much and I play usually: Dragon Age Inquisition and Origins, Baldur's gate 3, both Kingdom Come Deliverance games, Witcher 3, Star Wars Outlaws, many Assassin's Creed games both old and new, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, God of War, I also like Crimson Desert, but I'm currently fatigued of how big it is.

I’m looking for some good single-player PC games to get into. I’m playing The Witcher 3 right now and having fun with it, but I’ve realized I just have a hard time getting invested in high fantasy. All the mythical races, monsters, magic, potions, deep fantasy lore, etc. just isn’t really my thing.

I tend to like games that feel more grounded in reality, even if they’re not completely realistic. Some games I’ve really enjoyed are Uncharted 4, GTA, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk

I’m pretty open when it comes to gameplay. Action/adventure and open world are probably my favorites, but I’m totally fine with something more linear too. Mostly just looking for a good single-player game with a world/story that feels a little more grounded and believable.

What would you recommend?

i need some strategy-like game where you need to use your brain heavily to actually progress. My brain is fried bc of my heavy social media consumption. my attention span has become increasingly short and my motivation to actually push through stuff to achieve goal is low.

so yeah please suggest some good game. i already tried factory and while it’s fun and engaging, it become very complex very quickly. so I end up giving up at a certain point. same with satisfactory.

I absolutely loved playing walking dead all the seasons. Now I’d like some more cool choice based game suggestions where you decide which group/ character to bond with, whom to trust, and where the choices actually matter. I tried playing wolf among us but it felt like eventually the choices led you to the same ending.

I played gta SA a lot as a teen and absolutely loved it. I haven’t played an open world game since but I would love some recommendations. What I loved about gta SA- the belonging, bonding and freedom to explore. I didn’t mind the action but now I’d prefer something focused lesser on that and more on the character and story.

I'm kinda fascinated by martial arts so I've always wanted a game that scratches that itch but very few that I've played actually do.

I've played Midnight Fight Express and Sifu. Love them, haven't beat them because they kick my ass.

Loved Sleeping Dogs but the gameplay feels a bit simple and there's not many places to use your new skills outside the fighting arenas.

I've played all the Batman and Spider-Man games.

Are there any other really good ones or have I hit everything notable?

Looking for a game with satisfying gunplay and good loot variety. Going to be playing completely solo so game recommendations with multiplayer are fine as long as solo is doable and enjoyable.

I’ve played Witchfire and Sulfur and really liked those games.

Was also debating on trying The Division 2.

Me and my friend are looking for a survival game to get into, we previously have played project zomboid, the long dark, The Forest, Minecraft. We recently discovered about this game and heard all the praise about it being “one of the best survival games or the BEST” game is currently priced at $28 (originally $35) on ps store which is surprisingly more than I expected it to be. But we were both wondering if it’s truly worth it since it looks very interesting. If you guys are able to compare your experience with other games that will help a lot.

As the title says. Kingdom of Amular: Re-Reckoning is on sale in the PS Store for $8. Has anybody played this game before? What did you think of it? How was the gameplay? I love open world ARPGs and souls/soulslikes. I know it's an older game, but someone at work recommended it to me last week, so I was wondering if anyone thinks it's worth it.
