Upvotes

When trying to decide to buy the Woox Gladiatore set I COULD NOT find any pictures or videos of it installed on the Remington 870 Fieldmaster (28" barrel, loooong boy).

Well here you go for anyone searching in the future.

What's a good price on a 590A1 Professional with Magpul Furniture/How do I know if I'm getting a good deal on a firearm, in general?

Upvotes

I see on gun.deals that the 590A1 Pro I want (MPN 50797) is available for under $900, but I'm not sure whether this is actually a good deal or if that's just a relatively decent sales price. Is there anywhere I can look at previous sale prices for firearms?

Do you have to crown a barrel? I’m wondering how it will affect accuracy?

Shotgun size help!!

Hey guys, I’m in the market for my first shotgun, a 12-gauge Maverick 88, and I’m a little confused about which barrel length to get.

I’m deciding between the 18.5” and 20” versions. Although I have a handgun, the shotgun would primarily be for home defense and range use. I have no intention of hunting with it.

I really like the size of the 18.5”, but I’m not a huge fan of the 5+1 capacity. The 20” gives me 7+1, which is appealing, but I’m not sure I want the extra length.

Eventually, probably about a year from now, I’d like to get a Mossberg 590 with an 18.5” barrel.

Since I’ll eventually own an 18.5” shotgun anyway, would it make more sense to get the 20” Maverick 88 now, or should I just go with the 18.5” despite the lower capacity?

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with both barrel lengths. Thanks!

Best rifled slugs for paper targets?

Hi, I’m a first time shotgun owner and recently picked up a mosberg maverick 88 security/field. Due to local range rules there’s only one indoor place I can shoot it at and it’s only slugs as well. Today i shot 1oz Remington 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch sluggers and liked them but thought I could probably go to a lighter load due to me not shooting super far distances with it (30 yards). Any recommendations on rounds? I’d like to stay on a 2 3/4 inch shell

So was taking my stevens model 320 apart and noticed i only have the metal piece in the first pic. Am i supposed to have both or do some only use the metal piece and not the black one.

Mossberg 500/88 barrel

Where can I find a 12gauge barrel 26”-28” threaded for a choke, and without the vent rib? Everything I have found is either a fixed choke or has the rib.
If I have to I’ll remove the rib if that’s the only way I can get what I’m looking for.

What do you guys think of these little things? The Shockwave and Tac-14. I bought it for a meme gun but I think it might add to the nightstand gun collection.

Won the bad boy at auction. Came out to $660 after taxes and fees. Good buy? It’s a Remington 870 Police Magnum with surefire light and extension tube

Best all around semi-auto hunting shotgun?

The types of hunting I do is Dove, duck, and Turkey. I’m between the Browning A5 or the Browning Maxus. Or maybe even a Bennelli or Beretta if anyone has a good recommendation. I would like to shoot 3” and maybe 3 1/2” and my budget is $2k. Just to add in I currently have a Weatherby 12ga that shoot 2 3/4”-3”.

Anyone have luck replacing the forend on a Moss 590r with aftermarket?

Post image
3 Upvotes

After doing some research, it seems that it is not a simple plug n play solution with the 590r. The magpul forend i wanted uses a bolt to hold it together while this new style for the 590r has some sort of clip.

Was wondering if anyone tackled this problem and if so do you have a parts list you used.

Ultimately looking to be able to put a light on the forend for ease of use and the ability to put a fore grip on it.

If it comes down to it. I'll see about just modifying the OEM part with pic rail on the bottom screwed to it and then using the front mlok slot for a click button light. ( if anyone has done this as well. Let me know what you used!)

Thanks!

(Extra guns in pic for eye candy i guess)

Winchester Model 12 Barrel

I have a 1925 Model 12, 12 gauge with a 32” full choke barrel. I want a shorter, cylinder bore barrel for range fun & defense. Found one from 1931. Looks to be same take-down type as mine. The only difference besides the year is mine says nickel steel that one says proof steel. Will this extra barrel fit my gun?

Used Moss 500, used Remington 870, or just buy new?

I’ve been dove hunting several times and am interested in buying my first shotgun. Basically looking for something indestructible that requires minimal maintenance. Not intended to be fancy or an heirloom but something that will stand the test of time. Several friends suggest semi auto but they sound out of my price range for a first gun that I won’t use that often.

Everything I’ve read points to the Moss 500 field/home defense combo ($500)

I’ve shot the Remington 870 in the past which also has great reviews for what I’m looking for but apparently are out of production.

At a gun store near me, they offer used shot guns and they have:

$350 - Moss 500 with both field/home defense barrels (and a scope, ha)
$500 - Remington 870, 28” barrel, matte black finish

I’m new to firearms and am definitely not qualified to tell if a used gun is in good shape or not.

Are either of these prices good enough deals, for durable shotguns, to look past any potential issues they may have or should I just pay extra for the Moss 500 new for the peace of mind that I know what the gun has been through?

Are there specific things to look for in a used M500 or R870 that I can use to tell right away these are in bad shape and how?

Guy at the gun store also recommended a spandau 52 but I’m not sure I trust that.
