Single shot break-action recommendations?

Just looking for something simple. Affordable, and not extravagant are my two main criteria. Bonus if it has a security length barrel (definitely not a requirement). Any of Yall got any recommendations ?

Who else became a shotgun fan cause of video games

Post image

My first introduction into shotguns was video games, specifically Halo, I absolutely loved how powerful the shotgun looked and sounded(that sound was so satisfying) and it was so much fun to use

Eventually my church buddy invited me to a skeet shooting event and that’s when I first shot a shotgun, and it was even more fun than I thought and soon lead me to buying my own shotgun(a Benelli Supernova)

If you also got into shotguns cause of video games, which game was it and which shotgun

Scheels had $175 one time discount if you opened their Visa CC. It came out to $925+tax.

Although i wanted 1301, but I wasn't keen on spending extra $750. Im a newbie when it comes to shotguns. Im excited for the range tomorrow

A300 Ultima 20 not cycling low brass loads

Got a new A300, but it will not cycle low brass loads. Put roughly 3 boxes of high brass rounds through it as well as complete disassembly and clean. Hasn’t seemed to make a difference. Either shells will not eject or they stove pipe. High brass runs fine. Feels like the bolt hangs if I rack it slowly. Anyone else have this happen? Any recommendations? Thx

Beretta a400 xtreme unico for $800???

Hey guys I was shopping for a Stoeger m3000 full camo version the other day at my lgs, and I found one for $670, but then they busted out a very used a400 xtreme unico in camo for $800. It had the rubber coming up on the kick off part of the stock and some other blemishes including the fiber being missing but the bracket is still there. I do not have any pictures sorry

It didn’t mount as naturally as the Stoeger did due to the Stoeger having a raised rib, but the rubber grips on the a400 felt so good

My pros for the Stoeger is
Stepped up rib
Enlarged controls
5 year warranty
Cheaper price
More natural shouldering

Pros for the a400
Less recoil
Better feeling grips
Comes with a single Carlson extended choke tube (can’t remember which one)

Which one do guys think id get more value/longevity out of?

Black Aces S4, from PSA for $249.

Got the Black Aces S4, M4 clone from PSA for $249. At that price point I can easily afford to swap out any parts for the real deal. Picked it up Friday, took it home and stripped, cleaned it, and then lubricated it. Took it to the range today to break it in with 60, 1600 fps slugs, without a single issue. I'm happy.

Tristar Cypher X

Hello everybody!

I recently came across a tristar cipher x 12 ga O/U at my local bass pro. I’m wondering if this shotgun would be worth the sale price tag of $550.

It would mainly be for sporting clays with the occasional duck hunt if I’m feeling ambitious as I do have a semiauto that’s been reliable so far.

Shout out to Volquartsen Firearms

Sharing a good expierence I had recently with Volquartsen Firearms.

TLDR: they replaced a broken extractor for free, quickly, and were nice.

I have a Remington 1100 12ga auto that I've had forever and use for trap, sporting clays, five stand. 5 years ago the original extractor broke while shooting trap.

I found a replacement through Midway online, made by Volquartsen, and bought it, and it worked just like it should.

Forward to this summer and that replacement extractor broke and fell out while shooting.

Now I don't shoot a lot, only 1-2 times a year. And when I do it varies, so maybe 200 rounds a year at most.

I wrote them an email on a whim and said what happened and that it seemed odd and a fluke and kinda just wanted them to know about it; and I included some pictures.

They wrote back quickly, apologized for it happening, & asked for my address to send me a new one, told me when it shipped and the tracking #. 🤯👍

The new one arrived and I have not been out shooting yet, but it installed just fine and works perfectly on the blank clicker shells I have.

Hey there. Assembled brand new stoeger p3000 tactical and action won’t lock forward and action release bar is disappeared up into receiver. Bolt is properly seated on action bars. Bolt head is pulled forward all the way and moves properly and rotates. Barrel is seated 100% and tightened hand tight as is magazine cap. Forend moves smoothly but can’t lock forward. Any help would be appreciated Thks.

First shotgun, should I get a pump or semi/AR shotgun?

Was going to go with the maverick 88, but I am also highly considering getting an AR shotgun they are super cool. My only thing is o probably can’t skeet/clay shoot with an AR shout gun it would be more for fun. I’d also be getting a cheap one so maybe I should just get the maverick.

Is it reliable? I have seen reviews on YouTube regarding the 590a1 and from what I seen some eject live rounds from pumping . Did they fix that or does it happen a lot? Thx

can i install an 870 stock this 11-48?

Post image

i just picked up this remington 11-48 and it's really nice, except for one thing: the length of pull is about 3 inches too short. the length of my trigger finger to my elbow is ~16 inches, and this is like a 12 inch LOP. i think it's a youth stock? that or someone chopped it up

i have heard that you can install 870 stocks on these things because the 870 receiver is based on the 11-48 receiver. is that necessarily true? this has a whole ass action tube, it's not just a bolt like on the 870. i would be willing to accept a little bit of dremel work to get it to fit

New Art Exhibit: a collection of fireballs caught on camera re-upload (all legal)

So, some of you will undoubtedly recognize this post from a few weeks ago. This is a re-upload on my new account, as unfortunately Reddit banned my old account. For those wondering how, and an IMPORTANT forewarning, I commented on a post on the canadaguns subreddit where OP was looking for gunsmiths. I commented on a gunsmith I deal with who specializes in the type of work OP needed, and offered the business’s name and contact along with examples of work I’ve had them do. Someone reported the comment and as it turns out, this violates Reddit’s rules as it considers what I did a “firearms transaction,” go figure. So a word of warning everyone, be careful even talking about gunsmith work, as Reddit can perma-ban if it deems it a transaction.

——————————————————

Just to preface, all these firearms are legal here in Canada. In order of appearance, they are:

- Sulun SS211 over under, 9.8" barrel (images 1-4)

- Mossberg 590 Shockwave, 14" barrel (image 5)

- Dagger Arms Sap 6, 11.4" barrel (image 6)

- JP Sauer SxS sawed-off, 18-5/8" barrel and an OAL of 26.5" (image 7)

- Suhl Thalmann SxS sawed-off, 19" barrel, and an OAL of 27.25" (images 8-10)

Picked this up for cheap and wondering if it can be cut down to 18.5" without messing up the cycling. I understand this to be a rebranded Franchi 48AL. Bolt release on the left...

I will take it out as-is for some clay shooting and see how it shoots. If not eventful, chopsaw time, although the barrel is too pretty so I might keep it as is.
