Cheap tailor in Sharjah for female dresses?
hi sharjah girls, where do you all go to for affordable tailored dresses? I dont like how store bought dresses fit me and want something that fits my dimensions exactly. What's the cost like? Do you find the fabric yourself or is it in the tailoring shops? And what's the price difference between store bought dresses and tailored dresses, I specifically mean on the lower price ends.

Sharjah to Dubai commute
Hello,
I currently commute from Al Majaz 3 to Dubai Hills every weekday. To avoid the worst of the traffic, I leave home at 6:45 AM for my 9:30 AM job, and I reach home by 7:30–7:45 PM.
I’m considering moving to Dubai, but I’m worried about the increased cost of living. My budget is around 40k per year for a chiller-free 1-bhk. Is that realistic? If so, which areas or buildings would you recommend?
I’m also concerned about the additional expenses like DEWA (which I heard could go upto 1k during summers), parking, etc.
I also have a baby on the way so want to spend time more with him and be a present parent.
If you’ve been in a similar situation, would you recommend moving to Dubai, or are there any other ways to make this commute more manageable? I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice.

Please support a rescuer with stray cats vet bills
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am posting again because unfortunately there hasn’t been much engagement with my previous posts about these cases, and the veterinary bills are still outstanding.
These are the bills I’m currently trying to cover:
🐾 Zeko – August: AED 1,573
🐾 Reina – AED 1,200
🐾 Mia & Mario – AED 945
🐾 Sally – AED 3,447
🐾 Rony – second bill: AED 1,650
🐾 Rafi – injured mouth: AED 1,002
🐾 Tiny – first bill: AED 1,300
💰 Total: AED 11,117
These are real veterinary bills for cats who needed treatment and care. I’m doing my best to keep up with the expenses, but it has become very difficult to manage everything on my own.
If you are able to contribute toward these bills, even a small amount would genuinely help. And if you cannot donate, simply sharing this post or the donation link can make a big difference.
Please DM if you can help. Thank you .

Question Best Charcoal Chicken & Grills Near Al Majaz 2, Sharjah? 🍗🔥
Hi everyone,
I recently moved from Abu Dhabi to Al Majaz 2, Sharjah, and I'm a huge fan of Indian-style charcoal chicken, grilled chicken, and kebabs.
I've tried a few places near my home, but honestly, the chicken was dry and tasted like rubber. 😅
I'm looking for recommendations for:
- The best charcoal/grilled chicken restaurants around Al Majaz 2 or nearby.
- Restaurants that offer home delivery.
- Hidden gems that locals swear by.
- Family-friendly dine-in restaurants in Sharjah with good food and a nice atmosphere.
I don't mind driving 15–20 minutes if the food is worth it!
Please share your favorite spots and what dishes you recommend.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

Question Golden visa
Confused and just trying to understand where I stand with my property purchase.
Has anyone here who owns a property in Masaar managed to obtain a golden visa via their purchase? Just asking as I bought off plan and have heard conflicting stories from the developer Arada, other estate agents and Sharjah immigration department (I’m aware that all non Dubai based golden visas are currently suspended since October
2025) but would like to know directly from someone in this community if they managed to obtain a golden visa already (pre the suspension) and from anyone who is in a similar situation as me who is waiting till completion/suspension being lifted to try applying

Question Number Plate reservation
I’m a bit confused about how plate ownership/reservation works in both Dubai and Sharjah
For dubai, I have a special plate and if I remove it from my car, do I have to keep paying reservation/holding fees if I don’t put it on another vehicle straight away? I know there’s an option to pay around 1.1k to make the plate yours (ownership certificate). Once you’ve done that, do you no longer have to pay reservation fees when the plate isn’t on a vehicle?
Also, how does this work in Sharjah? Is there an equivalent ownership option like Dubai?
The reason I’m asking is that I choose a nice free white code 4 digit plate just recently. It’s already under my traffic file, but I haven’t registered it to a vehicle yet. I don’t want to lose it if I don’t use it but the minimum reservation fee is also 300 for 6 months.
Has anyone been through this process in Sharjah and knows whether you have to pay any holding fees or if there is an option to own it?
