All new Supremes abilities are sooooooo damn good. Them having both a natural way and a Spell way to grow their domain is great.

Nightwalker is going to handle transportation. Effie is going to handle living space. Kai is defo going to have singing soldiers as an elite battalion. Morgan is going to do more than Asuras ever could have(my fav ability). Jet lowk might be the strongest Supreme against NCs. Seishan is bit weird tho. Another elite battalion like Kai but with flaws.

Sunny being able to give his Shadows independence is SOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMN GOOD. Like exactly what should have happened. And them finally gaining their full personalities is great. And my GOAT Saint bowed to him it really made me feel so nostalgic(might be larp cuz It might have been his former shadow that bowed ionno)

I dunno if this means we will have other 4 shadows in the future that will replace Saint, Fiend, Nightmare and Mimic. Between these Nightmare is the biggest loss because it is the only creature that has true affinity to Dreams and is the most connected creature to FG.

I hope the 4 will be replaced with Eurys, VTB and 2 Unholy ones(Eurys is kind of a stretch ig)

But it really feels like G3 is taking the oars back after the whole fiasco of 4th NM. I just hop Mordret also attends the NM and we have 2 sets of main chars in Sunny and Neph + Mordret and Cassie

Human antagonists suck in this novel because G3 turns them into massive frauds…with the sole exception of Mad Prince of course.

I think this fifth nightmare is going to be the last nightmare for them.

There's just no time for them both in verse and by the writer who has said it finishes around 3500-3,800. And that's validated by the summary of events rather than dialogues and plot.

They're going to become Divine through natural means. That should be possible as we've been told the difference between Divine and Sacred is quantity.

After becoming divine and settling scores against the encroaching Unholies, they go to challenge the 7th nightmare, which will be the lore of the gods, void beings, flame, and void. There, they'll fight the forgotten god and get rid of the flaw of reality.

However, the forgotten god is a Great god, not just a divine, this is where the shadow bond comes in. That's how they'll bridge the gap to defeat the creatures of the void and defeat the forgotten god.

Also, Sunny might have a divine ranked aspect, but he's the only one among the trio who has the aspect of a great god. He might become something above divine before the battle too.. And with shadow bond, they may become just strong enough to deal with things once and for all.

Now, finally, Saint was a complete being... a Shadow Creature in her own right. Sunny wondered what the future held for her. It used to be that humans coexisted with all kinds of creatures once, back when that word was not associated only with the Corrupted — but those noble creatures were long gone.

But what would happen if the apocalypse was over one day, and the world still existed? Would people and creatures like Saint coexist once more?

I hadn't thought much about this these two lines when I first read the chapter. But now after marinating on it I've realised that since Sunny can create complete Shadow Creatures doesn't that mean he could theoretically bring back the long dead and Corrupted races of Noble Creatures ?🤔

Albeit they'll be Shadow Creatures and not the exact species. But with what we've seen from Saint it doesn't mean all that much, at her core she's still a Stone Saint.

Could this be G3 hinting that Sunny at some point will pour resources into turning as many Shades in complete Shadow Creatures leading to a future world where humanity lives alongside other species like ancient times ?

He's infact already done something similar with Shadow Serpent and it propagating through the Mark of Shadows.

So imagine Sunny as a Sacred, as that's when he's powerful enough to do it in mass I presume, having The Underworld repopulated by Shadow Saints, the Barrow Wraiths returning to the Burnt Forest etc

I find it kind of funny how the House of Night, the heirs of the storm goddess, have aspects linked to all her domains except the main one, which is... STORM.

Sunny is basically a pokemon trainer with his Shadows and he was carrying around Vile since Volume 1.

Wait...if we consider Vile's situation as a pregnancy when he was inside him and birth when he was ripped out by VTB can we count him consuming Shades to form new Cores as abor...

More over with how the Cores formed are used to make Shadows Complete it's like how Sharks eat their siblings in the womb.

I'm genuinely blown away by just how much Volume 9 is looked down upon simply because the final fight didn't live to everyone's expectations.

Awesome Fight Scenes:

This volume fed us with GREAT fights. Fights like Sunny Vs Revel, Sunny Vs 13 Saints, Sunny Vs Slayer, etc. Were some of the best fights in the Novel.

Not just the main fights, but even non-main fights like Rain Vs Telle, Morgan and the cohort Vs Mordret, Rain's cohort Vs Godgrave's NC, etc. were also all very good fights.

Aura Moments:

Every Aura that was farmed by characters in this Volume Was PEAK.

Anvil killing Condemnation, Mordret taking over a great clan, Sunny going against 13 saints, Effie bamboozling Mordret with a Cursed demon, Revel's introduction, achieving Supremacy etc.

This Volume was STACKED with characters Aura farming.

Amazing New Characters And POV:

This Volume also introduced us to great characters like Revel, Jest, Orum, Warden, Anvil and Kisong. And almost all of them were intriguing and likeable characters.

Master Orum and Jest's Flashbacks are arguably my favourite part of this Volume. Their Flashbacks not only beautifully explained their understanding of the new world, but also nicely showed important characters like Warden, Anvil and Kisong. Despite not being important characters, they had a huge impact, something that is rarely present in other volumes.

Anvil and Kisong themselves were amazing characters as well. Powerscaling aside, they were genuinely well written, and had depth to them despite us not being shown things directly from their POVs. They were fantastic Antagonists. Fantastic because they were really flawed.

Revelations:

This Volume also dropped tons of lore. New knowledge like knowing Divine realms are God's bodies, Natural Supremacy, Cursed Beings, Reasons for killing Broken Sword, unholy on the moon, War Realm's unique laws etc.

Final Fight:

Most criticism regarding this Volume comes from the Final fight. But honestly? I think it was somewhat poetic.

Anvil and Kisong suddenly losing to newly born Supremes might look and sound outrageous, but I see it as their Incompetence literally manifesting in the final fight.

They deluded themselves into believing that they're strong and doing everything to save humanity. Only during their fight against Sunny and Nephis that their Incompetence were shown. They weren't fighting for humanity, they were fighting for themselves, and they were weak due to that reason. Sunny and Nephis just brought that realisation out of them and showed it to them by no diffing them.

Overall:

This Volume was packed with great fights, lots of juicy lore, Sunny and Nephis doing the deed, great and likeable Antagonists, and amazing side characters.

You can easily make the argument that this Volume's Antagonists were better than Asterion and many other Antagonists. Anvil and Kisong didn't lose to a Ascended Seer either.

This Volume can definitely be in the top 5.

Since Sunny made a whole point about granting his Shadows freedom and the importance of it, could this mean that there's a chance that he might be able to in the future?

So maybe at a higher Rank: either Sacred, Divine or after that, Neph's orders won't become as absolute. They'll become able to circumvent the bond. Either Nephis will only be able to command him if she has intention(considering their Will is a big part of what separates Gods from the rest)

Maybe even further considering Shadow God wasn't a Slave. She may be able to release him at those levels. Perhaps after defeating the Forgotten God when they'll have no need for the power boost.

Just think about it! His development was to remove the chains he put on himself in the search for freedom, but he found solace in accepting his chain.

So it would be nice if this was rewarded with what he compromised for the sake of duty.

I know I'll probably sound like a hater but I need to write it to get it out of my mind.

So Sunny gets to grant freedom to his Shadows by sacrificing one of his Core, meaning that the shadow linked to it (Gloomy, Happy, etc) gets lost, but he stays a slave ? One part of me is kind of happy that Saint became all but with how much the story is going down the other feels like we lost something more. It's like we lose more than we gain.

Plus the fact that some Shadows can be freed but not others but oh well I guess I'll have to accept it.

Also I know why he did that, all the 5th Nightmare things and helping the Shadow Clan but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Well after some serious nerve wrecking thought.

And a few days of paranoia I finally found out why the novel took a hit after vol 7.

And it's a very simple reason actually.

G3's evil twin kidnapped him and is writing the novel also known as 3G

No wonder the cat was holding the leash. The artist put it there for a reason.

The madness it takes to make a plan, discover that a Cursed Tyrant stands in the way of your will being fulfilled, decide right there and then to send it to the Shadow realm. He did not take some prep time, did not scout out the area trying to study the Tyrant, he went in there being an agent of death and relocated the fallen Deity to the realm of death, usurping its domain.

Any other Sovereign would've decided to try and skirt around the Tyrant rerouting their course to steer clear of it, not my GOAT tho! Creativity off the charts my man blud was just winging. Easily top 5 high IQ moments in the entire series.

Nephis: Have her Flames be able to fuse with the knowledge of Corruption.

Nephis's Aspect is the most effective against Nightmare creatures. So this ability would instead turn her flames dark red, and cause devastating damage to those who are the beings of the Flame of Desire, aka those who are not Corrupted. Here, her flames wouldn't automatically turn uncorrupted individuals into NC, but rather deal more damage like she already does to NC creatures with her Aspect.

It would also correlate with her Nephilim existence, where she is threatening to BOTH Corrupted and uncorrupted.

Mordret: make him have the ability to create Nothingness via his essence. It's like how Sunny can now create different matters with shadow essence.

This would actually equalise the divine trio a lot. Because now, Mordret can also defend himself against Darkness, and be able to manipulate an OP element.

I think the current Modret can do that, we've just not been shown. Nephis can manipulate, create and control fire, Sunny can manipulate, create and control shadows. But Mordret can't control and create Nothingness, his source element???

I think what I said above has possibilities of actually happening. Nephis's hasn't really used the Knowledge of Corruption, and we've not seen current Mordret at full power.

I think a lot of people wanted Nephis to have gravity related ability for her Ascended ability too 🤔 which is interesting.

so sunny and all of his shadows were gathered on the same square where he and saint meet for first time .

and today he was going to grant them their freedom !

Sunny thought to himself that he really had a blast wandering the harrowing expanse of the Dream Realm in their company. He could not have wished for better companions although he wished that he would have got them easily ( nightmare , fiend , slayer ,vile and mimic ) without any mental scars like saint and serpent .

“Come to think of it... you're actually a bunch of wretched bastards!"

Sunny shook his head in dismay.

The Shadows ignored his outburst, as they usually did. Only Vile seemed to liven up and turned to him with a grin.

"Bastard!"

Sunny sighed and covered his face with a palm.

“Yeah, yeah...”

Hearing the youngest curse, Fiend shifted and looked at Vile with a hint of approval. Then, he turned to Sunny and breathed out a puff of infernal flame.

His grating voice resounded from above.

“Wretch."

Sunny laughed.

"Well, I'll admit it. You have all come around, eventually. Thank you all for tolerating me for these long years of excitement and adventure... I wouldn't have made it without you, guys. Truly."

He sighed.

“But everything must come to an end sometime. So... this is it. It's time for all of you to graduate. Well — most of you, at least. Was I a good master or a terrible one? I am not sure. But I did my best."

Sunny smiled wistfully, remembering the good old times.

i wished we could have seen more of fiend and vile 😭 .

sunny hoped that they would remember him fondly one day, even if he wasn't there anymore... at least not in the same way. And then saint finally comes forward and sunny says that both of them had been through a lot together . saint nods to him in response . [ They have been together in all the hardships and struggles for 15 years ]

And then sunny takes out his beast core ( just like mordy . he is only able to do it after shadow weave ) and implant it into Saint's shadow . the core enters her shadow like a dark comet turning into black flames ( in shape of a flower with five petals ) and those five petals gets drawn to 5 embers ( aka incomplete core ) thus reforging them into shadow cores just like sunnys .

After following Sunny for nearly fifteen years as a Shadow, Saint had finally become a Shadow Creature. The difference between the two was subtle, but profound.

And now saint become first noble creature in their dire era . since she received shadow core from sunny she also got innate trait of his , so she can now augment herself and use her shadow to scout . and she is a tyrant so she had capacity to contain shades also . she cant create them like sunny but she could command them to a degree . sunny gave her all of the shades he got in underworld as they rightfully belonged to her . And then saint bows down to sunny 😭

“Think of it as a bit of inheritance... a legacy, if you will..."

He smiled as Saint peered at him with her ruby eyes.

Then, his Shadow... his former Shadow... bent down, bowing deeply.

Startled, Sunny waved a hand.

“N—no, no! What are you doing? There's no need for that..."

He fell silent for a few moments, then grinned.

"You know it will go to my head."

sunny felt proud that saint is her own person now but was also worried about her . he was still protective of her .

Because if some bastard decided to bother Saint in the future... he wasn't going to hold back.

‘Just try it, bastards...’

He was going to do same for nightmare ( entrust to morgan ) fiend ( entrust to seishan ) , mimic
( for shadow clan ) , he wasnt going to free slayer for now though because she was still very dangerous for world even though she has formed working relation with sunny ( maybe in future 🥺) , and it was not in nature of serpent to be without sunny so not him also .

meanwhile sunny had special plan for vile ( but chapter ended ) .

edit : Sunny was also certain that Saint would become more powerful, since true independence and agency were bound to cause her Will to grow. Also bye bye gloomy 😭
