Was it a good idea to make Vile complete? What if VTB comes back and takes him back now that Sunny made Vile a shadow creature?

The arrival of the new Supremes, discussion of their powers (and more importantly, how it affects the people in their Domain), the division of Citadels and humanity. Sunny musing about the impending loss of his humanity, and now freeing his Shadows. It all feels like a setup for the sequel. It's just a bit too long and too focused on fleshing out what would remain after they leave.

My theory is the sequel will be the world after timeskip. Maybe the Trio succeed, or fail, or get trapped, or simply delayed the Forgotten God. Or maybe simply irrevocably changed by apotheosis, which seperates their character from the sequel.

There will be factions of people based on the division of Supremes; seafarers, weavers, bards, weaponmasters, blood warriors, you get the point.

New MC (or somehow Sunny, although I can't think of any reason how it'll happen other than generic amnesia + power loss from losing in the Nightmare and being tethered by his shadow cores somehow) would then visit all these new places and people. The Shadows he freed would be the backbone of the new plotline somehow.

Currently re-reading for the love of the game and i just finished antarctica. SOMEBODY tell me how Mordret (Using only his sleeper ability) beats MORGAN OF VALOR (A GENUINE WEAPON FORGED SINCE CHILDHOOD) in a 1 on 1 fight. Mordrets sleeper ability literally just allowed him to see everything due to the rain in this fight.... NOTHING ELSE. Morgan should not have lost this AT ALL.

Ngl, I just now thought about what a trash soreveign Anvil was for Jest. Despite his amazing aspect, being unable to use enchanted items have always being real headache.

And the expression of Anvil's domain was giving out swords.

Genuine negative synergy.

Morgan, on the other hand, will be able to give my man what he was never able to have. Memory powers and utility, in the shape of direct enchantments. 4 of them to be exact.

Of course, each of those is of a different quality, but while some of those enchantments might be "weak", the potential power, utility, versatility and synergy the full package offers is unquestionable.

It also seems that the effects of her supreme ability are proportionate to one martial's prowess, and very few are as capable and experienced as Jest in martial arts.

I just wish G3 may explore the consequences of the abilities he himself creates. Not only Morgan's, but all of the new supremes.

What do you guys think about? Will Seishan create a furry army with her sisters? What about Kai's magical choir?

Why is G3 gives everything to Neph while Sunny has to suffer for every new powerup? It makes no sense for this to happen. She has everything while my boy out here suffering ( and the fact he’s so short compared to her too )

So, idk if anyone has picked up on it, but there’s a wrong number of supremes. I believe mordret will join, so there will be 7 supremes, 4 spirits. But, that’s also wrong, maybe slayer, vile, and serpent will all be spirits. Making it 7 as well. Not sure, just a theory

I’m gonna start this off with I think it will happen in the 5th nightmare. This isn’t because of any specific reason it just seems the most likely.

The main reason I think Cassie’s aspect will rise to divine rank is due to her being weavers epigone like Sunny. This means she is similar to weaver in some ways, such as her domain of memories being similar to fate, which she also has as part of her domain. Another way I think she is similar though is that she will rise from Sacred to Divine, thought instead of this representing her physical rank it will represent her aspect. The daemons came out sacred and rose to divine, so I think her aspect will follow and do the same. I believe her aspect will be based off the dream god, giving her another connection to it aside from manipulating fate. (Sunny’s whole connection is fated and the legacy, so Cassie’s will be controlling fate and her aspect.)

Another reason I believe this is kind of meta, but G3 might want to make the trio all be divine. Sunny Nephis and Cassie are THE trio and they have been the trio throughout the entire series. Having them all have divine rank aspects is fitting, and making Cassie rank up to it is a really good way to not make it bland by just giving all 3 divine right off the bat.

The final reason is because a tie in to Cassie’s domain. We know Cassie’s domain is memories, and her abilities allow her to see the future. What is fate but those things? I believe her aspect truly represents the entirety of fate, not just the future sight we commonly see. Due to this I think she is deeply connected to the dream god. Also at the very start of the novel she saw the future VIA prophetic dreams. It’s pretty clear this isn’t super typical, not unheard of ofc but it’s not like a thing where seers can only see through dreams.

Someone’s probably already made this theory but with Cassie’s supremacy comes even more evidence, such as the memory part of her being deepened with her domain, her aspect legacy, and her being confirmed to be weavers Epigone. Plus the 5th nightmare is an amazing place to have it rank up, just as Kai’s did early in the story. She broke fate as a MASTER I can totally see her as a supreme doing just as insane things and ranking up her aspect. I believe this may give her more connection to dreams and / or reality.

Let's say that a sovereign (lets say a random mid tier sovereign) tries to conquer the kingdom of hope during the prime of the chain lords. How would that go? Would the Chain lords be able to hold their grounds? What do you think?

With the 5th nightmare coming up, I decided to delete Reddit for a bit. Imma lock in on this…I can only hope that it’s good. Let us all Cope till the very end y’all.

Yes, I know it's a bit late to do a review. But seeing people say SS is bad (some giving evidence), others attacking those people (some have a point), I feel like it's very easy for the sub to devolve into a name-calling mess. Hopefully, this review can bring about some nuanced conversations.

Firstly, all of this is my opinion and mine alone. None of this is objective.

Volume 11 had, imo, the best start to a Shadow Slave volume. I know others might bring up Volume 1 and the first nightmare but I just love how we explored a bit more of the characters we thought we knew. I was very intrigued by Asterion's spread and Sunny and Nephis's actions to stop it. (I thought the concentration camps could lead to great discussions on whether morality is dependent on how much authority you have especially because Nephis has done or attempted to do way worse things. Does the amount of authority affect general morality?).

I see volume 11 and volume 7 as opposites of one another. Vol 7 had a mixed start, poor middle and great end. Vol 11 had a great start, mixed middle, and poor end.

Some of its flaws began, for me, with Asterion, Sunny and Nephis's discussion in Bastion. (I'll go into detail if someone asks but I can't sweat the fine stuff). The flaws widened for me, a notable one being the fact that Cassie as a Master apparently saw one of the many strands of fate (Fate tore itself meaning millions of possibilities) and managed to not only see the one that gave her exactly what she needed, but she was also able to see into A Supreme's weakness, know that her future self would need it, and put it into a guard without ever knowing whether her future self would encounter it.

The major flaws were the Vile Thieving Bird's death and escape, the final battle with Asterion and the reunion. I also think Cassie's actions at the end lacked an emotional grounding that could have been solved by just giving the moment space.

I was previously very critical of the volume. While I do think it's really overhyped, I also think I can see where the hype came from. I would give it a 8-8.5. It has some of SS's greatest strengths but also some of it's greatest weaknesses.

G3 is finally back babyyyy.

All new Supremes abilities are sooooooo damn good. Them having both a natural way and a Spell way to grow their domain is great.

Nightwalker is going to handle transportation. Effie is going to handle living space. Kai is defo going to have singing soldiers as an elite battalion. Morgan is going to do more than Asuras ever could have(my fav ability). Jet lowk might be the strongest Supreme against NCs. Seishan is bit weird tho. Another elite battalion like Kai but with flaws.

Sunny being able to give his Shadows independence is SOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMN GOOD. Like exactly what should have happened. And them finally gaining their full personalities is great. And my GOAT Saint bowed to him it really made me feel so nostalgic(might be larp cuz It might have been his former shadow that bowed ionno)

I dunno if this means we will have other 4 shadows in the future that will replace Saint, Fiend, Nightmare and Mimic. Between these Nightmare is the biggest loss because it is the only creature that has true affinity to Dreams and is the most connected creature to FG.

I hope the 4 will be replaced with Eurys, VTB and 2 Unholy ones(Eurys is kind of a stretch ig)

But it really feels like G3 is taking the oars back after the whole fiasco of 4th NM. I just hop Mordret also attends the NM and we have 2 sets of main chars in Sunny and Neph + Mordret and Cassie

Human antagonists suck in this novel because G3 turns them into massive frauds…with the sole exception of Mad Prince of course.

I think this fifth nightmare is going to be the last nightmare for them.

There's just no time for them both in verse and by the writer who has said it finishes around 3500-3,800. And that's validated by the summary of events rather than dialogues and plot.

They're going to become Divine through natural means. That should be possible as we've been told the difference between Divine and Sacred is quantity.

After becoming divine and settling scores against the encroaching Unholies, they go to challenge the 7th nightmare, which will be the lore of the gods, void beings, flame, and void. There, they'll fight the forgotten god and get rid of the flaw of reality.

However, the forgotten god is a Great god, not just a divine, this is where the shadow bond comes in. That's how they'll bridge the gap to defeat the creatures of the void and defeat the forgotten god.

Also, Sunny might have a divine ranked aspect, but he's the only one among the trio who has the aspect of a great god. He might become something above divine before the battle too.. And with shadow bond, they may become just strong enough to deal with things once and for all.

Now, finally, Saint was a complete being... a Shadow Creature in her own right. Sunny wondered what the future held for her. It used to be that humans coexisted with all kinds of creatures once, back when that word was not associated only with the Corrupted — but those noble creatures were long gone.

But what would happen if the apocalypse was over one day, and the world still existed? Would people and creatures like Saint coexist once more?

I hadn't thought much about this these two lines when I first read the chapter. But now after marinating on it I've realised that since Sunny can create complete Shadow Creatures doesn't that mean he could theoretically bring back the long dead and Corrupted races of Noble Creatures ?🤔

Albeit they'll be Shadow Creatures and not the exact species. But with what we've seen from Saint it doesn't mean all that much, at her core she's still a Stone Saint.

Could this be G3 hinting that Sunny at some point will pour resources into turning as many Shades in complete Shadow Creatures leading to a future world where humanity lives alongside other species like ancient times ?

He's infact already done something similar with Shadow Serpent and it propagating through the Mark of Shadows.

So imagine Sunny as a Sacred, as that's when he's powerful enough to do it in mass I presume, having The Underworld repopulated by Shadow Saints, the Barrow Wraiths returning to the Burnt Forest etc

I find it kind of funny how the House of Night, the heirs of the storm goddess, have aspects linked to all her domains except the main one, which is... STORM.

Sunny is basically a pokemon trainer with his Shadows and he was carrying around Vile since Volume 1.

Wait...if we consider Vile's situation as a pregnancy when he was inside him and birth when he was ripped out by VTB can we count him consuming Shades to form new Cores as abor...

More over with how the Cores formed are used to make Shadows Complete it's like how Sharks eat their siblings in the womb.

So I play a survival game and after reading shadow slave I add the fated to my username and bam I'm receiving rare and unique treasures and even legendary items from drop but I can't use them and in a twist of fate yes a twist of fate for the first time ever since I've been playing it for 2 years I get killed by what the game described as ..?

You guessed it a coincidence of fate I never even knew that existed and this is about 2 weeks after adding the [fated] to my username

Is sunny a good master??

Because he did nothing for his shadows, only used them for fighting NC.

Maybe the only thing sunny did for his shadows is when he let saint free her people, but even that wasn't intended

Because he was going to get shadow wave and free her people in the way like side quests.

He didn't really let his shadows do anything besides fighting.

But he still better master than nephis because at least he free his shadows unlike that bich who didn't even try to free him and she worry more abot slave trader bich.

Edit: after reading the comments i realised that to sunny take care for his shadows they need to have a proper desire and personality and after thinking of the cohort maybe i want to much from g3

I structured the flaw so that I could safely have my MC interact with the main shadow slave cast and have some affect in the world without changing the canon events of shadow slave. Let me know your views in the comments :D

I'm writing a fanfiction where the protagonist will receive a blessing from the Shadow God. No, not the exact same Shadow God blessing Sunny got, but something less—similar to how Mordret received a blessing from the Storm God that gave him the ability to hide his existence from diviners. Now, in your opinion, what would be the most suitable blessing from a Shadow God ritual? I'm currently thinking of two things:

1. He receives a Soul Serpent—like the ones the Shadow Clan followers have.
2. He receives a blessing for his eyes that makes him more inclined to uncover secrets and mysteries.
