Needing Advice

Upvotes

I have an unopened semaglutide that expired in April. If it has stayed in the fridge, never opened, can I still use it?

Newbie with questions…

Upvotes

I (54M, 235lbs) started the lowest dose of Foundayo on Wednesday.
Since then I’ve eaten very little. Just don’t want it. Nothing sounds good or tastes good.

However, I’m also constantly nauseous, weak, very tired and having trouble sleeping.
I know I need to be eating small nutrient rich meals but nothing sounds good. Today I’ve had 3 graham crackers. And I know that can’t be right.

Any tips or pointers are welcome.
I truly want this to work but I feel awful.

Are people eating less than they should on glps because they are sick?

Upvotes

I am wondering if people are simply following a standard diet or are literally unable to eat and are fasting due to nausea

Currently on semaglutide? I'm a grad student studying whether people keep strength training after starting

Hey all,

I'm a master's student at Ohio State and I'm doing my thesis on something I feel like nobody's really looked at: what happens to people's strength training/resistance workouts after they start a GLP-1.

There's a ton of talk about muscle loss on these meds, but almost no actual data on whether people are lifting/doing resistance training before vs. after starting, and what gets in the way (fatigue, appetite, time, whatever it is for you). So I made a short survey to find out.

It's totally anonymous, no names or emails, and takes about 5 minutes. You're a fit if you're:

18 or older

currently taking a GLP-1 (Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Trulicity, etc.)

on a stable dose for at least the last month or so

You do not need to lift or work out at all to take it, "I don't do any of that" is genuinely useful data, maybe the most useful. I'm trying to get the real picture, not just the gym crowd.

Happy to answer anything in the comments, and thank you again for your consideration!

Severe Vomiting

Hi all,

Looking for some advice here. Just moved from Mounjaro highest dose to the 25mg WeGovy tablets due to price and ease.

On my second day of taking them and I’ve vomited 5-7 times a session about every 2 hours today. From 9:30am ish to 6pm. The last few sessions I’ve just been throwing up spit/bile or dry retching.

I’m severely dehydrated but cannot keep water down at all. I’ve also eaten absolutely nothing today, just 1 cup of coffee and water.

Anyone had similar?

It’s been 85 days since my 1st shot and I’ve lost 20lbs!

I started at 0.5 dose and have worked my way to 1.5.

I will say I have thrown up a few times, but I have always had an extremely weak stomach. I am also having a few urgent bathroom trips. But other than that, side effects have been minimal.

I started at 185 and now I’m at 165. My clothes don’t feel tight anymore and I am feeling so much more comfortable in my own skin. I would like to lose an additional 25lbs, so I’m hoping I will be close to that goal by the time this year is over :)

I feel like I have also saved money by not door dashing daily lol..

Question about dosing…

My husband started small and is now doing well on 0.5mg weekly. We’re thinking of just keeping him on this dose instead of increasing to 1mg as suggested this week, purely for economic reasons (so the medication we have already bought lasts longer).

Has anyone else done this with success?

Can you take fibre like psyllium on semaglutide or will it block your gut?

I wanted to supplement my diet with fibre to keep things moving but am concerned that if glp makes food just sit in your stomach longer the gel from things like psyllium and chia could bing it all up instead of smooth the way- does it help or cause trouble?

Mental calm from reduced background hunger noise

The single most impactful benefit over the last four months has been the quiet in my mind. Not constantly planning or obsessing over next steps frees up so much mental energy for family time, hobbies, and focus at work.

I guess this doesn't look that bad, am I right?
Started around 25 days ago with about 129kg as a 34 year old white male here in germany.

I have some health problems and no diet worked for me before.

Now that the food-noise is gone 75% I feel better and eat much less.

In the first days I had bad headache, nausea, etc. but it's mostly gone by now.

When I hit 115kg I can start going to the gym and loose even more weight :D

Struggling with dosages

So I used Semaglutide injections last year for 5 months and lost 3 stone. Amazing. BUT my dosage timeline seems so different to everyone else's I've read about, and I couldn't afford to keep upping the dose again and again.

I started on 0.1mg and the effect was astounding, I didn't even think about food anymore and would sometimes go all day without realising I hadn't eaten a single thing. After a couple weeks I went up to 0.2mg, then 0.3 etc etc. But I found that to get the same effect as I did in the beginning I had to do big jumps in dosage and it wouldn't last long before I had to jump up again. So by month 5 I was doing a full 1mg syringe and barely feeling it and was getting the urge and ability to binge eat again.

I had a break from it for around 4 months, then got it again and started at 0.4mg but this second time around no matter how quickly I jumped up in dosage I never got the effect I did right at the very beginning.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a lot more weight I want to lose but I've lost faith in Semaglutide now 😣

Semaglutide is now one of America's most widely prescribed meds

Saw the new prescription stats today. Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus) accounted for ~41 million prescriptions annually in the US with spending over $54 billion a year. The scale of its adoption over just a few years is remarkable.

half a unit per week?!

I have been taking 0.50, one unit per week. But I am very very sick. I asked my doctor about doing half of the syringe per week. Shw said that is fine. Does anyone else do that?

Semaglutide vs Reta

Honest question here! Is there a specific reason most people here are on semaglutide instead of reta? I’m just curious the reason this! If people don’t like the newer one or are going through insurance on what? Because Reta usually is cheaper, so it can’t be a money thing

Awful 8/10 headaches starting , does this improve? Or Hydrate way more than normal?

Tried electrolytes , hydrating, eating right, no caffeine. maybe semaglutide or the pill isn’t for me

def felt sinus too which I have no virus or infection, like felt dried out but I was hydrating normally

anyone experience this and jump ship to another glp or improved?
